Mine is arriving in a day or two, I'll let you know as soon as I get it! I got it right from the Sprint website, so it should be the same as an in-store model.

Cool. Thanks. It will be interesting to find out if there is any differeces between the Sprint store model and the unlocked sprint from HTC.

I would think it's the same phone.

I can't speak on the Sprint version, but the AT&T version has a surprisingly small amount of AT&T crap that I've seen on every other phone from them.

Sprint does install NASCAR, One Weather, Amazon (the shopping app, not the app store or the app store replacement), Uber, and all of the Sprint programs (family locator, etc).
I always forget this when I get a new phone, but I go through and setup all my apps and THEN activate the phone (so I can still use my old phone in the meantime). Then the Sprint ID runs after activation and downloads all the Sprint apps and changes the homescreen to the sprint default (getting rid of all that I worked so hard on). It usually isn't a problem because I just root my phone and then freeze the Sprint ID app and don't have a problem, but root hasn't been perfected for the A9 yet (I don't like the idea of losing my encryption).
I have had a problem with the Sprint ID on the A9, however, and it errors out after installing some of the apps (there may be more than the ones listed above). It gives me the option to retry or cancel and I tell it to cancel... Well... Sprint ID runs again every morning (4 times so far) and reinstalls the same apps and then errors out.
The good news is that you can uninstall all these apps that Sprint ID installs right from the regular interface (Settings -> Apps, or in the app drawer drag it to the top and uninstall).

Received mine today. No pre-installed bloatware. Instead it auto-downloaded as soon as I finished activating.
It's not permanent, though, you can just drag to uninstall any/all of it.
Edit: Exactly what jmanly69 said.

Thats good to know. At least we can get rid of the garbage.

I bought my A9 right at a Sprint store on November 7th. They told me it was the first one they sold. There isn't a fraction of the bloatware as previous phones have had. I won't say there isn't any but what is there is easily uninstalled. Most of the apps you see installed are more like shortcuts to the Play store to install the app.

Leaked RUU with New Radio App Issues

For some reason, I can not find certain apps in the Market like the Astro Key I purchased (mind you Astro app is installed), FiOS Mobile Remote, etc. Any suggestions?
Its because those apps are copy protected, and since the leaked RUU has a build unrecognized by google at this point, those protected apps are not going to show. So unless thats the offical OTA build, those apps will never show because google has to change the market to show copy protected apps for every official build of every phone. So if that software is final, they will eventually show up, if its not, they never will, unless you root your phone and change the build string

For about 6 hours yesterday I couldn't download anything (got a download unsuccessful error) emailed the market team and got a response back helping me out.

I see all the purchased apps as well including the astro pro key and it shows installed..
It's the strangest thing really. Everything else I can download except for those two apps. I will contact Google for help. Thank you everyone.
P.S. I never had this issue when I installed a leaked RUU on my Incredible except from going to Froyo from Eclair.
Agreed. Astro Key is definitely there and I running the leaked RUU.
+1 - Astro Key and FIOS Mobile Remote with leaked radio...
I'll tell you I'm fed up with EA mobile... I purchased two of their apps when I was on T-mobile... And if I'm using any device that's not on Verizon (ie T-mobile, at&t, or Sprint) the apps will show. But on any device on the Verizon network (I've tried the dinc and the TB) it wants you to buy them again. Sadly enough this is a known issue with EA mobile and they actually charge more for the same app on Verizon vs other providers. I wish there was a way to fix the issue myself as their support team has been playing dumb regarding this...

Check out the app called Market Enabler on the market. you can fake your carrier to T-Mobile for the android market.

Can't seem to access paid Market apps...

I've been doing some searching on the subject but all I find is old threads/info or discussions that don't apply to me, so anyway, hopefully someone can help me.
I can't find any paid apps when i search on the Market, however if I follow a direct link or look for them under additional apps for a certain dev/publisher then they show up... Regardless when i click on the price to buy it I get an error that says "The item you were attempting to purchase could not be found. ". If it were a location issue I think I'd get a different error no?
I've had my TF since the summer and I honestly can't remember if I've ever bought any apps directly on it... I've installed plenty of free apps and stuff from Amazon's App store, plus a few apps that I originally bought on my phone (all previously purchased apps still show up under My Apps)... But it's quite possible I never bought any apps on the tablet. Basically i've no idea if this a new or recent problem.
However I can buy apps on my Sprint phone just fine even while on the same account and Wifi connection. I'm in Puerto Rico, which can sometimes find itself in limbo when it comes to things like this but the fact that the market works fine on the phone also makes me think it shouldn't be a location issue. My TF is stock, not rooted, and has the latest updates.
Oh and I have already tried force stopping the market, clearing data/cache for it, restarting the tablet, and removing / re-adding my Google account on the tablet. On the web version of the market it just says any paid app is incompatible with the TF.

[Q] Paid apps on new phone

If I change my windows phone with another one, will my paid apps be available on the new phone to download without paying again?

Your apps are associated to your windows live account. So changing phone should not be a problem.

As long as you use the same Live ID, you will get them again without paying. When you go to Marketplace, go to your purchased app, click buy, it will verify that you bought it and say 'You've already purchased this app, do you want to reinstall it?' - say yes!
You can also see a list of your purchased apps (and reinstall them) using the Marketplace website.
You dont have to pay for the apps you already bought if you use the same Live id. To make it easy, use the Reinstaller app for Windows Phone http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/b9d1115b-2c0d-4e5d-afc6-fa6dcd84dda4
Well..i never bought the paid apps, there were some deals with free for 2 days and i purchased them then. Now, they cost, i thought i could reinstall them on my new phone but it says i have to buy..
Apps are purchased by their ID, a GUID that every app has. It's possible that the free apps you "bought" were using different GUIDs than the normal Marketplace ones. In that case, you can try checking the Marketplace website for the list of apps that you previously installed and try reinstalling the free ones, but if they've taken the copies with the other GUID off of the Marketplace, you won't be able to get them again.
It sucks, I know. The backup/migrate/restore story on WP7 is really bad. I actually raised this issue with Microsoft several times (both as "we need this" and as "this is a reason to no block high-privilege homebrew code; we could do this for you" and received no meaningful response except for one guy I know who works there saying "yeah, this is an issue, but it's not in my area; I sent it on to the right people."

[Q] New Google Play Store

I just opened up the Play store and saw the "We've changed a few things..." message. Change is a tough sell for me, especially because I am a firm believer of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Anyway, I actually like the new layout and all, but I noticed that this new version has at least one change that will have me rolling back to the old one.
Unless I missed it somewhere, we no longer have the option to pick and choose which of our apps get automatically updated.
Bummer.
Now, we have 3 options that get applied to ALL the downloaded apps on your device: Auto-Update Apps, Do Not Auto-Update Apps, or Only Update Apps on Wi-Fi.
I'm hoping someone will call me a n00b and tell me where I can change this setting for individual apps.
Otherwise, this sucks and I'm reinstalling the previous version.
Thanks in advance, HOPEFULLY.

Well I am in even worse state now. I have two Androids (well actually three) in any case I managed my apps form my browser. It allowed me to select which apps go on which device and to uninstall apps that way as well. With the new setup I have no idea how to do that any more. If I click on "my apps" it shows all apps with no indication on which device or any option to uninstall the app. I hope I am missing something or that Google fixes this.
Cheers,
Hans

Amazon App Store questions - two stores, and auto-update

Hi.
I have two questions about the Amazon App Store that I have not been able to find answers to anywhere so far.
1. When the Underground App Store came out, it seemed to slowly replace the old original Amazon App Store, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere that the old store needed to be uninstalled, and I am concerned that the Underground App Store may not be able to manage all my previously installed apps, especially Free App Of The Day apps. Does anyone know if it is safe to delete the original Amazon App Store while still able to manage any older Amazon-downloaded apps?
2. One of the Amazon App Stores (not sure which one) has recently (early 2016) started the nasty habit of automatically updating all my Amazon-downloaded apps whenever a new update is available, and I am not OK with this. Most important of all, it doesn't seem to ask me about changed permissions anymore! I have not found any way of disabling this behavior so far. I even emailed Amazon customer service about this and was told they'd have to talk to me on the phone about this as it is a more complex issue - yea, right...
FYI, I know enough about Android to root my phone and browse the file structure, and I have some Linux experience, so either there is no easily found option for question 2 or I am suffering from temporary blindness which tends to happen occasionally...
I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S5 on Verizon, rooted, Android 4.4.4 Kernel 3.4.0, in case it helps. I disabled Android Software Updates so towelroot doesn't get disabled.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!
