I don't what caused it, but every other app selected in Gear Manager for notifications is pushing them to my Gear 2, just not the default sms text "Messages" app. This default app isn't even showing up in the Gear Manager notifications selection screen where you choose which apps to push notifications from. I tried wiping the caches for the Messages app, Gear Manager and Gear Host, I also tried restarting both the Gear 2 and my Note 3 to see if that would help and it hasn't. Does anybody know what I can do to get my Messages app to push notifications to the Gear 2 again?

What do i need to install to get samsung gear notificatioins reguadless of if the screen is on or off?
i have ATN installed and only get Get SMS notifications when my note 3 is in sleep mode....
i am looking to have every text show up on my samsung gear reguardless if the the note 3 is in regular or speep mode.
it is there a setting or app that will get the my gear to not skip displaying SMS when the phone screen is on?
I also don't receive any notifications on my gear when an SMS comes in. I have ATN - everything seems to work except for text. any ideas? Thanks.
I think I found the solution
For those still having some issues with galaxy gear... I think I found the definitive solution. You'll recall that Google hangout now handles text messages on Android... If you have enabled this feature., then that's the problem for the gear text notification.
Not that it will not work, but you'll need to enable notification for hangout in order to receive text notifications on the gear.

When I delete a text message or email via my gear s2 classic is there a setting that will automatically delete them the from the phone it's connected to.*
I'm deleting them on the gear s2 by pressing the 3 little dots on the watch and choosing the trash bin. I get a pop-up saying notifications cleared.
I'm using the stock apps.*

Suddenly, notifications sent to the watch from the app stopped.
I tried restarting both, cycling the notification button in the Wearable app and combinations of both actions.
No joy.
The Google SMS and Verizon SMS apps each send notifications to the watch.
The same thing happened at the same time on the Gear Sport that is also connected to my Note 9.
I'd rather not reset the watch, but understand that I may have to, but why only one app notification fail?
