I have a Gear with ATN installed.
What do i need to install to get samsung gear notificatioins reguadless of if the screen is on or off?
i have ATN installed and only get Get SMS notifications when my note 3 is in sleep mode....
i am looking to have every text show up on my samsung gear reguardless if the the note 3 is in regular or speep mode.
it is there a setting or app that will get the my gear to not skip displaying SMS when the phone screen is on?
I also don't receive any notifications on my gear when an SMS comes in. I have ATN - everything seems to work except for text. any ideas? Thanks.
I think I found the solution
For those still having some issues with galaxy gear... I think I found the definitive solution. You'll recall that Google hangout now handles text messages on Android... If you have enabled this feature., then that's the problem for the gear text notification.
Not that it will not work, but you'll need to enable notification for hangout in order to receive text notifications on the gear.

I have problem with notification of Handcent on my Samsung Smart Watch 2.
There is probably problem with the new Android 4.4.2. on Samsung S4 mini. As I had it previously I had notification of the SMS´s from the original "program" on the watches. And on the phone, the default program for SMS was Handcent. It worked, that as I got SMS on the phone, I was noted by Handcent, but on the watches I was noted by regular SMS program. On watches I can open it, read it and answer like Yes, No, O.K. and so on.
Now when I want to turn on the notifications for SMS on the watches it is asking me to setup as default the original SMS program. But I want to use Handcent. If I turn on the Handcent as default and the same on the watches, I got just notification on watches that I have new message. I can´t see it and nor open it on the phone from watches.
Is there some way to fix it? Without rooting the phone?

I get notifications from text that I receive on the Gear s2, and can respond to the message, when it is on the notification screen. However, when I go to the messaging app to reply again or find an old message the do not show up. Only the message that I originate in the messaging app stay on the Gear S 2, does anyone know of a way that these message will stay from the notification screen to the installed messaging app?
What phone are you synced with? I had to "dump" phone messages to s2, and then clear the unread counts. Works fine now. Sometimes a delay between showing up on both devices if using gear s2 away from phone...
I'm on s6 edge.
Which messaging app do you use? Mine was not working and then I performed a factory reset. After paring it, the messaging app was working from that point on, but only using the Samsung messaging app. When I switched to Textra as my default messaging app nothing ever gets recorded in the messaging app, which makes sense I guess if the messaging app is only compatible with the Samsung messaging app. I think this is silly because any messaging app should work with it but I am sure it's not that easy. Textra would have to make an app for the S2. I can only respond to the text and need to check my Note 4 if I want to see the conversations.
hi guys, I have the gear s2 for about a day only so far, and is hoping some of you can help me with the issues I'm experiencing.
1. When I receive a message on Viber, the watch doesn't vibrate (have read through similar threads on this already and have tried factory resetting and uninstalling the gear app on my phone). Watch vibrates fine when I receive messages via the default messaging app. I did add Viber to the notification apps on the gear app.
2. Checking the notification area, it just shows me "NAME has sent you a text message" instead of the actual message itself. At first I thought this is as good as I can get it to work, and that it isn't compatible with Viber to show the actual messages, but last night when I went to sleep, I received 3 Viber messages, and this morning, when I checked the watch, all 3 "actual" messages were displayed on the notification screen. So there must be some ways to make this work? New messages I've received thus far this morning have reverted back to "NAME has sent you a text message" notification. I think it is kind of pointless to have a smartwatch that doesn't vibrate when someone sends you a text via Viber, and when you do check your watch, you only see a notification that someone sent you a text message instead of being able to read the actual message.
3. The watch forces you to use the default messaging app, and won't work properly with Go SMS Pro. I've always used Go SMS Pro, because the default messaging app is very slow on threads with a lot of messages. Any workaround for this?
4. Is it safe to use the dock with my Samsung quick charger adapter or do I have to use its own adapter?

EDIT: Fixed the Viber issue by enabling "Show Message Preview" on Viber settings within your phone app. The downside is, when enabled, the notifications on your phone when you receive a Viber message will also show the whole actual message.
anyone guys? especially #2? Is there a way to make viber messages show the actual message itself and not just a notification? thanks

After using the watch for another day, I found out that Go SMS Pro works with the watch, and you don't have to use the default Samsung Messaging app.
Also found out that when you receive a Viber message from 1 person, the watch will only notify you that you have received a text message. But if another person sends you a message through Viber as well (without you opening your phone yet), then both "actual" messages will start to show on the watch. Replying will still require your phone, as you can't reply though the watch. Weird that this happens and I hope it can be fixed.

Yesterday i realized that my gear s2 classic is not showing me notifications from whatsapp.... I had an update to the watch few days ago but im not sure if it's related.
I checked the notifications settings on the gear app and the whatsapp is checked.
Any one?
What phone do you have? sometimes, depending on the phone model, notifications can take a while to show up..
Or maybe you don't check notifications permiss of samsung gear app..
I have been using the Samsung Messages (SMS) app on my Gear S3 with my Note 9 for years.
Suddenly, notifications sent to the watch from the app stopped.
I tried restarting both, cycling the notification button in the Wearable app and combinations of both actions.
No joy.
The Google SMS and Verizon SMS apps each send notifications to the watch.
The same thing happened at the same time on the Gear Sport that is also connected to my Note 9.
I'd rather not reset the watch, but understand that I may have to, but why only one app notification fail?
