[Q] Good Headset in ear for Omnia 7

It's Possibile have a list of high quality full compatible in ear headset for my omnia 7?
In internet news ar so confuse and i need a list with few model to compare.

Hi, I think the original one in the box works pretty well, what's not good with it? To find better quality i'm 90% sure you have to check in bigger headphones but try first with better quality audio files

It is the best Headset i ever had. But i guess i am not an audiophile.

what do you think about volume?? I feel it a bit low, for normal listening outside in the street i always use 20/30

I find that the buttons on the remote and the microphone add a lot of noise to music... for some reason in silent parts of songs I keep hearing this low level buzzing noise.
Whereas if I plug in my Etymotic ER-6i canalphones, this completely goes away. I can only assume the circuitry for the microphone and remote causes this additional noise.

Nokia will soon, or maybe yet, sold a headset with Monster, the Purity, compatible with his Lumia 800. So it is certainly a good alternative to all native wp7 headsets.

Can you confirm whether or not these come with a compatible remote (i.e. volume control/ play/ next song/ previous song)? The pictures aren't clear enough to show it.

Could someone tell me a serial number? Because, I didn't get headset to my phone.

As some of you knows it already the Z2 speakers are low out of the box and even only one speaker works when the phone ring.
Do you think the Z3 will be louder with tweaks as Phonearena review is saying it's not loud enough?
Btw does the new UI has a car app?

Just got mine last night. The bottom speaker is the only speaker that plays when the phone rings, although it is quite loud. Texts seem quiet though. This would be better through both speakers though for sure.
Can't see a Car app on UK unlocked model.

Different with my Z3 (bought via Vodafone Germany): BOTH speakers are used for incoming call sounds; pretty decent volume.
Didn't notice a "car app"; there's Garmin navigation preinstalled - but the usual "try and NOT buy" kind. So just regard it as nonexistent, simply stick with Google Maps. And yes, Sony generously allows deinstalling Garmin navigation.
Speakers in general: Nice and clear sound, quite deep stereo effect, but a bit thin, could be louder, about the same volume as Samsung's S4.
Playing around with preamp settings does NOT help, just leads to distortions.
HORRIBLE volume via 3,5 mm connector - AS USAL, volume is FAR TOO LOW for powering anything else than that infamous earwax pullers (in-ear headphones).
For something positive: The sound via headphones connector is real fine, you won't be disappointed if it comes to audio fidelity.

this is probably done on purpose by design. sony probably figures if they enabled both speakers or made them louder it would be pretty rude when in public places.. something would agree with.. nothing more annoying than to be at a public place and hearing phones ringing at full volume . IMO these devices are already ring loud enough.. i keep mine at middle volume and is plenty loud. i think people that require louder should invest in hearing aids or perhaps clean their ears :laugh:

Can't say limiting the ability of the phone to ring through both speakers is a design feature.
I'm going to keep looking to see if anyone sorts the sound coming out of one speaker as this is the culprit I think.
Edit: I actually think having both speakers playing would allow them to reduce the volume in both, allowing for less distortion and a nice sounding ringtone.

The iPhone 6 speaker is louder, but since it's always facing the wrong direction, the louder speaker doesn't always translate to more sound reaching your ears. Your hand often covers the speaker as you hold it as well.

It's plenty loud, maybe not as good as HTC M8 levels in terms of clarity at full volume but pretty close.

What do people use/recommend?
Also (I'm new to these) is it the ones that say active noise cancelling that work with our phones built in options?

No need for active noise cancelling with this phone. I use the Sony MDR-NC750 ear buds. The noise cancellation on the Z5 turns on automatically when plugged in and they work nice on the plane.

Nice, what's the quality like on them? And the bass output? I currently have sennheiser ones u see and they can punch some good base in my ears

Just bought a set of Sony MDR-ZX770BN Bluetooth, noise cancelling over hear headphones. I'm in love. Once they're set to quality mode, I can't tell the difference between wired and Bluetooth. The noise cancelling is pretty good (haven't had a chance to test on a plane yet though). Definitely recommend checking them out at least.

The sound quality is nice, crisp. Bass is there but if that is your preference, I wouldn't recommend these. I only use ear buds when on a plane or train. I use some MDR-Z7 when grounded, an entirely different class as they are over the ear and no noise reduction but entire range is represented well.

Any Audiophiles User On S8+ ? Need Some Questions Answered?

What audio formats does the galaxy S8+ supports? I’m not talking about Audio Playback Format. I’m asking about Quality for instant is High-Resolution Audio same as PCM or DSD: DSD 64 / 128 can someone point or explain what all this means ?
Also I just found out about the Sony has a high res player is out on the market only a few days ago..

Other thing what would be the best headphones, or over the ear phones to experience the best audio quality on the S8+ ? At the moment I’m using Bose QC35 They are a decent pair of over the ear headphones, but of course not the best.
They do have a pretty awesome sound signature, but I’m sure there must be better out there, Sony Bluetooth headphones just released how much would I benefit using these with the S8+ As I have checked the Samsung website they don’t really tell you much on the specs link for Sony WH-1000XM2 Thanks peeps

I use Audio-Technica ATH-R70X, They sound great with lossless content, and the output jack on the phone supplies plenty of power to push them. With an external amp you may have better results, but I cant tell. I cant imagine that the S8+ wouldn't playback high quality audio, as long as your source material is high quality. As for the specs, not a clue... sorry!

Some facts that might help with your decision:
* The part of your body that actually pics up sound is tuned to convert sound waves from 20Hz-20,000Hz (cycles per second) to electrical signals your brain can process.
* Digital music is converted from analog by chopping up the signal in Time and Amplitude (Sample Rate and Bit Depth). CD's and most other digital music Sample the Analog waveform 44,100 times a second and have 65534 (16-bit signed) possible amplitude levels per sample.
* You can lossless convert the 16-bit 44.1KHz signal back to a analog waveform that has a SNR of 98dB and a frequency range of 0-22,050Hz.
* It is very unlikely you are able to hear past 18KHz by the time you're in your 30's
* Passing Ultrasonic's into a driver (speaker) can at best not provide any advantage other than wasted amplifier power and at worst degrade the parts of the audible spectrum.
* High quality compressed music (AAC, OPUS, MP3, DD, DTS, Etc.) is in-distinguishable from the original digitized source because of the way our auditory system works (Psychoacoustics). - While I'd love to get into reasons why it is past my current knowledge level. I've compared a lot in the $100-$400 range and the ones that came out on top for me were:

Going by the frequency response graphs:
Meze 99 Classics - They will sound warm (especially female vocals), average sound stage, while still having a crisp high end.
ATH-MSR7 - Not as warm, larger sound stage, high end will have more sparkle and the "I can feel it" part of bass will be more pronounced.
From personal experience:
ATH-M50x - Meh. They can sound great if calibrated, but I never cared for them otherwise.

For best quality, use a lossless formats such as WAV or FLAC but check first that they are not upsampled mp3s. If you want to save space and use mp3 format, look for a bitrate of 256kbps+ (ideally 320kbps)

You can't expect any kind of audiophile experience without actual stereo equipment high end speakers, Highs, Mids, Full range, and a bottom firing sub, biamped, triamped, and a center spaced sub, and then every speaker has to be tuned to your specific space in a deadened room. So if that is the kind of audiophile sound you want from your phone its just not going to happen. This phone sounds better than any other that I have ever owned or heard. Viper audio is crap, its just a front end for ALSA to make use of very limited power to make the tiny speakers in ear buds or over the ear anything go BOOM just a bit more. Don't waste your money on stupid high end headphones the biggest difference between most of them is the amount of stuffing they put in them to keep them from rattling, and please never ever spend more than 20 bucks for ear buds. I have a set of $18 dollar ear buds that I bought at a flying-J truck stop that sound and preform just as well as my $300 dollar Bose Bluetooth ear buds...I paid $280 for a name. (not knocking Bose I love their home audio stuff, but they got me with the ear buds) Lossless files are the way to go for sure, and if you were to use this phone as the music provider for a stereo system, the sound you would want coming out of it (because you are using it as a preamp) would be dead flat..... The Same thing goes for your car or home stereo using the Bluetooth or a direct line out of the phone into a stereo system....the sound coming out of the phone should be flat or you are EQ'ing an EQ and you are defeating the purpose of the equalizer in the stereo, you are essentially feeding the stereo digital noise, (just try it, trust me) (you wont be sorry). Let the stereo do the work let the phone be the high end preamp and it shouldn't be turned up more than half way. Oh and just so you know in not some wind bag ,, I'm giving you practical, useful, WORKING, knowledge. I have been a working Professional Musician for over 30 years. What do you recommended that has best audio quality for mobile use? I mean, I use the LG V20 with Viper4Arise with good headphones and it blows me away how good it sounds.

Exactly what you are doing if that is what sounds good to you.... I would ask you to do one thing and see how it sounds... if you are going to use Viper then just use Viper.... Flatten out every other EQ that you would be sending the EQ'd sound from your phone to... then just use the viper eq until you have the sound you are looking for.
As far as headphones/earbuds are concerned. I have a free standing hat rack full of them.. I use them according to the music I am listening to, But if you want my honest opinion ( and i know someone will call me stupid, not that I care,) I use a pair of Beats, over ear, with noise canceling, wired, as my go to headphones,,,, and the stock earbuds that came with my S8+ .... They are made by AKG.... You can get stupid and spend a lot of money (like thousands) trying to get better sound from a substandard tinny tiny under powered sound card,,, and never find the right equipment to get the job done... and never realize its not the equipment you are buying but the equipment you are using,, inst getting the job done

I had Lg g6 and it has better Audio than the S8 + ,definitely.

I just can't believe any professional can suggest Bose, Beats or phone stock AKG. Did you ever try them? For studio purpose you are using monitors... maybe this is why...
Try something what make sense- don't be like sheep- buying beats or bose just for brand and color? Get proper AKG, Beyerdynamic are not massively expensive or Sennheiser ie80. I would not recommend headphones over £300 because you not gonna notice any difference. EQ or any funny software- I prefer flat sound but everyone is individual...

+1 to this. With all due respect but no real professional would say that an $18 pair of buds would produce the same sound quality like a +$300 pair of westone or senheiser or any other prestigious brand in ear monitors. This post was addressed to audiophiles and obviously OP you should expect answers from real ones.

Samsung's S8 phone connected with the LDAC codec with Sony's WH-1000XM2 headphone is a combination made in heaven! There is presently no other wireless pair that comes close to this combination. The key is the LDAC bluetooth codec.

Sound only comes from bottom speaker with ringtones?

Why does the sound only come from the bottom speaker on incoming calls or when notifications arrive? Listening to music, watching videos or playing games and the sound comes from both speaker. Also getting the feeling that the sound is much worse when it comes to ringtones/notifications.

Same here, ringtones and notifications sounds not only worse but quiet even on full volume.

But seriously why? You have 2 speakers and only choose to activate one of them with ringtones/notifications... Or is it some bug that will be fixed with an update?

I know this thread is a couple months old, but this bugs me too! Any updates on figuring this out? I'd like to utilize my stereo speakers to the fullest.

This is standard across many dual speaker devices. Only the bottom speaker is used for notifications and in call loudspeaker mode. We'll need someone to find a way to edit the root files that control this or create a mod that can be flashed in recovery. Until then, only one speaker will be used.

Anyone found a way to edit the build.prop files yet?

My guess is that it isn't the build.prop file, but a mixer XML file that needs editing. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge on how to do anything like that though.

I think you're right. I found a set of them but don't even know where to begin to edit them.

To be fair, and I'm not sure why, this phone isn't the only device to suffer from this. For comparison, my wife's iPad Pro w/ 4 speakers works fine with media and apps. However, when using Facetime, it only outputs from 2 speakers. I'm not sure if, including the Pixel 2, this is an app design, a hardware design, or comms protocol limitation or something. I wish all sound came from both speakers and that both speakers were designed to be equal...I believe the Pixel 2 speakers are designed so that the top speaker is more Treble-focused and the bottom has a little more bass.

Yes, this is standard across most device manufacturers. I'm not sure why though as I've successfully modded an old Sony Xperia to have dual speaker output for loudspeaker calls.
