I suppose you can just press on the home button and have the phone wake at the same time. That is what I do ^.^

if you go to the phones main settings, security, lockscreen, then turn off the lockscreen, you can wake the device with the volume buttons.

Yes, this is a way.
There is a lot of way to wake up the phone, for example you can flash a kernel with Touch Wake support (just touch the screen to wake the phone).

yea, but with touchwake youre phone never goes into sleep(not good for battery life). its awake, just the screen is off. plus you cant keep it in your pocket with touchwake, youll just end up turning the screen on.

Yeah, it's only to suggest alternative methods.

Why? Nexus s has a capacitive screen, so if you don't touch it with your fingers or with something that's an electrical conductor, the screen shouldn't turn on...am I wrong?

i would think so too, but..
tell that to my phone that not only opened applications while in my pocket, when i was using touchwake, but once opened the rootbooter app then booted into recovery and wiped my dalvik
You can check al_madd's guide on Nexus S with Power button broken:

You can call your phone, then it will wake up

You always need another phone only to wake up your nexus s.

[Q] Samsung Focus lock screen issues

I usually have to press the lock button twice to lock or unlock the screen.
Does this happen to anyone else?

I dont think the button is wearing out, I think its how its suppose to work, I have a Samsung Focus 1.3 and it needs to clicks to wake up from when I click the button to turn it off. However when it shuts off on its own, I only need one click to wake it up.
I did test this for about a week because I never noticed until I saw this post about a week ago.

is there an application that mimics the motion/swipe (sg3) to do a screen capture

I got my wife to switch from her bogged down s3 to an n5 and she loves the speed and new device but misses some of her bells and whistles from the s3.
anyone know if there is a screen capture app that lets you swipe your hand on the screen (sg3 like) to catpure the screen?
thanks in advance.
Is there any way to do screen capture at all without root?

Yep, this was a stock ICS implementation I think
She thinks that's a bell or whistle? Its the most ridiculous way of doing a screenshot iv seen. My mate tried showing me to show off his phone
I just turned and did it the android way one handed and ripped him for a minute for looking like a fag xD

Power button losing tactile feedback

Hi guys,
I've seen to have lost the tactile feedback on the power button. Normally when I press it, there a light 'click' . But this morning when I woke up it is no longer there.
Anybody faced the same problem?
Thanks

Hence I use DT2S and DT2W. Power button will remain pristine here :good:
What's that bro?
Is it double tap? Had double tap on my last phone (Zenfone 2) and I kinda miss it.

weird, i always read so many stories about power buttons getting worn out, what the heck do u guys DO with ur phones? ive never had that issue with any of my phones

Okay. Somehow it's okay now. Probably froze overnight. Haha
But I would probably look into the double tap thingy if it doesn't affect battery life that much.

Is there a way to wake and unlock at the same time just by using my finger print?

I just got an S7 and i am wondering is it possible to wake and unlock the S7 at the same time just by using my finger print?
Just press and hold the home button and it will wake and unlock based on your fingerprint.
It's not (yet, I hope) available on s7 to wake and unlock the device just by touching the fingerprint sensor, without pressing the button. They introduced that feature on galaxy J7 prime, so I'm hoping that s7 will get it too..

That would be very nice if battery doesn't take a serious hit.

My guess is there would be some battery drain since it has to stay active all the time. I have gotten use to pressing and holding so it doesn't bother me.
Good day.
In another similar thread i have found this post, but i did not try it myself.
