Hello.
I just got my GEM-703L, and I've switched the language, but the chinese writings remained on the lock screen and in some other places.
Please - what to do in order to get rid of them ?

Change the cover to a new one and remove the stock one and it will no longer be in Chinese. If that doesn't work, change the theme in Themes to something like the Brightness theme.

LOL ! This actually worked !
Thanks man !
I've switched to "Brightness" theme, and then went back to the default one, and it was in English, the important part were to answer the dialog "Keep magazine unlock" with "Discard".

Now you can enable the Magazine Unlock again and change the cover to one of your photos or wallpapers and it won't have Chinese writing anymore. I actually like the Magazine Unlock as you can pick a bunch of different backgrounds to display each time you unlock the screen.
I have the magazine with the stock photos in it. I am actually keeping that for a while because I think that the pictures are just BEAUTIFUL!

After I changed Themes a few times (I have over 200 loaded) I tried to go back to the "Golden Bloom (magazine)" theme, now I no longer have the Magazine Lock Screen feature that was there with the rotating lock screen pics (I like that). I looked with esfile explorer and the folder is there with the pics, I can see the folder in gallery as well, but it's not working.
Any help?

If we cant figure it out, look into C-locker. Even the free version is awesome. It can be a little complicated to set up but if you have questions email the dev hes awesome at responding.
But I have some things i want to do that Clocker cant which is why i switched so I'm hoping someone can help!

Looks promising but the less software loaded the better. Good recommendation though.
I don't think you can replace the clock. You can only access the widgets by swiping down on the lockscreen clock.

I didnt think you could replace the clock, but i was under the impression that you could add other widgets to the lock screen
Swipe down from the clock on the lock screen and your widgets will show.
I see it now. Thanks. I wish they we on the main screen though.
Anyone figure this one out yet? I have been scratching my head trying to be able to change mine. I followed some guys instructions on Reddit, but that didn't work for me. Wondering if anyone else had figured it out.

Can you post a screenshot? I'm just curious at this point. There's also access to some settings from the lock screen.
Edit: disregard, it just goes to system settings or Nagar settings.

Do you have the phone? If so your phone is different than mine. I don't have a lockscreen wallpaper option.

nope.
The lockscreen wallpaper is kind of annoying, but the persistent "This device is HD capable" notification is driving me out of my mind.

He's using the stock launcher. If you switch back to that, you can change the lock screen wallpaper with a long press on the homescreen.

Unfortunately, I didn't (well, at least not for what you're seeing in that screenshot). If you visit plus.google.com in Chrome, it offers to put a link to the site on your home screen. So, that icon just opens the web version of Google+. I did install Google+ earlier today, but because I had to sign it myself to remove the conflicting permissions (it conflicts with the improperly built Gallery app), Google's servers rejected the client. IMO, the only chances we have of getting a working Google+ installed are 1) if the phone is rooted, then we should be able to replace the Gallery app with a non-broken one, or 2) Lenovo needs to fix it. Option 2 might happen by accident if they ever decide to release Android 7.
Looks like you can only change the lock screen wallpaper to a static picture, no live wallpapers unfortunately. On other phones you can.
Also, I can install and use Google+ just fine it seems, perhaps because I installed their latest December update.

My stock launcher somehow become corrupted, every second, I get "Unfortuantely Launcher has stopped working". It was a ***** to get to the Google Play store between saying, "ok" and having the message pop again in 1 second. So I was able to get into Play store and install another Launcher that is near the original Launcher_3. However, it does not have that LockScreen Walpaper mode.
I don't know how to fix and reinstate the original launcher. Even after trashing and reinstalling it, it still doesn't work.
Any insight?

You still have these phone great but do you have updated android like 8 , 9 or 10??
When I first got my Honor 8 in November 2016, when it was running Marshmallow, I was able to use Muzei Live Wallpaper for both desktop and lock screen. This looked great and made the whole experience seemless.
After signing up and downloading the update to EMUI 5 through the BETA scheme, that option had disappeared and I was stuck with pics from the gallery or the Magazine Unlock as backgrounds to my Lockscreen. I had logged this as a bug through the beta program, hoping that it would be sorted out before the final release. After updating to the final release for EMUI 5, it seems that the option is still missing, OR am I not seeing where to go to set it?
It now just looks dis-jointed having different pics on display after I unlock the phone, or worse, going from a static picture to a different live wallpaper that might have movement.
Is anyone else able to have a live wallpaper on their lockscreen as well as their desktop?
I can set live wallpaper on desktop, but not lockscreen.

Sorry but having a live wallpaper as lock screen is not possible on any huawei device if you are not using a third party lock screen app.

You can on Marshmallow with the Honor 8. You just have to set the lockscreen to match the homescreen.

Was about to comment the same. It's just a shame that the option has now been lost in the move to Nougat. Maybe it will come back later...

Would be nice to have this functionality back.
I found out that it's switching in lock screen. You need pull bottom shutter and press left "play" button and uncheck "favorite" center button.

This allows only to swipe the magasine's content...isn't it ? (just tried, if a "live wallpaper setting" is somewhere, haven't found it)
Appreciate any help I can get.
I cannot get a lockscreen to stick. I set one (using photos, gallery, and Nova) but the brownish boat dock always comes back as the lockscreen.
I have deleted all the Magazine unlock pictures and the dock picture explicitly, but it still comes back.
Is there a location for a default lockscreen and can I overwrite it?

From gallery, pick the picture that you want to used as wallpaper. In 'more' option, select set as. Select wallpaper(gallery), set as both (home screen, lockscreen). Done.

I REALLY appreciate the response/help. Unfortunately not so on my rooted phone and/or with covered case. Gallery, Google wallpapers, Nova. Sticks for a pick then boom. Lockscreen back to dock of the bay, except...
It appears that the lockscreen, at least the one that comes up after lockscreen timeout (your lockscreen does stay for a swipe or other method, before timeout. It was themes, that is where (for me) the dominate lockscreen is. Themes didn't work (on an encrypted internal data partition). I got the full root working again then the Theme lockscreen predominated, even if the individual parts of a prebuilt theme were available to change. So I pick the least busy theme. Now you can change your own wallpaper (any method) with the new theme and it does stick.
Thanks again.
Interesting PITA.

Ok. Apologies. Absolutely right for the lockscreen. My problem is what I typically which is Smart Cover. That is what I cant mod. I use the luxury tueme for smart cover. Unfortunately every time I change it doesn't stick within the theme.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to change the S-View photo. This can be achieved only by applying a theme.
I highly recommend you to try this application to modify the theme that you are using , and select the S-view photo you like.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mixapplications.themeeditor
Hope this helps!
That helps, and by changing the right them it solves the issue completely. Some themes let you disable magazine unlock then all behaves as it should until you reenable magazine unlock.

It is not possible without root or another launcher.

As an alternative, you can just set up another home screen without At A Glance.
Lawnchair or nova your best bet
I used Niagara for a couple of days and paid for the full version this morning. Love the 'empty' screen!
Please tell me how to remove this information from the locked screen? a flashlight also appears instead of the date ((very annoying. There are no lock screen settings in AOSP.

Are you using a Pixel 7?
Your best bet for fixing the flashlight issue is to probably install a Pixel Launcher, stock or modded and customize your At A Glance settings. As for the lock screen weather, not so sure you can turn that one off.

Unfortunately, I am not sure how to remove the date. My apologies there.

It was the same on my 4XL. It's nuts that they put that on the homescreen. Every morning when I turn the phone on, I have to swipe left to get to the homescreen I want to use. I don't want to root, or change the launcher. Back in the day, I was able to choose the homescreen page I wanted.
