Stock email (not gmail) app - Huawei MediaPad X2

I am assuming that the email icon on the X2 is just a stock app. If anyone is using it do you have any ideas for how to automatically bcc yourself on emails you send from the X2? My Note 2 and Note 3 app had the choice in the Settings but I don't see anything on this one. People found a workaround on Outlook 2013 to a similar problem... Wondering if anyone has come up with a (I haven't rooted) workaround? Thanks for your time!

This won't be too helpful. I like many of the stock X2 apps, but I use AquaMail for features.

Yes yes yes, Aquamail is the best!

I haven't tried AquaMail, but I use BlueMail which works well for me.

Thanks for the recommendation of AquaMail - I am trying it for a while. I already found that I can set my accounts to automatically bcc myself. If I can get the hang of it I will have to buy the Pro version because I have three email accounts that I use. I am testing it with the most important two accounts right now...

I can't remember the differences in Pro, but worth the "investment" if only to keep the Dev rolling. Depending on changes in android, the dev rapidly updates, and features are added or updated with no changes to your loaded mail and settings

Have you tried Aquamail? It's GREAT for tablets.

I tried and paid for a bunch of email clients. These things are mostly personal preferences if the minimium feature sets are the same as needed, but Aquamail has all the features and customizability managing multiple accounts for small to large form factors.
I'll take a drive by of ProfiMail if a free or trial client exists.

AquaMail truly works well.
Would be great if one could chose which accounts are checked (and when), and whether they should unfold or stay rolled up.
But the price is reasonable and the features are great!
Thanks for the tip

There is an option to expand all accounts or accounts with unread messages in settings.

I use Smart Folder with the accounts checked and unread rolled to the top. Don't go home without it.

Once rooted, recovered, reinstalled, will follow your tips, aj & Rudolph, thx

I think Aqua Mail is the one to go for. I use it for my gmail and outlook accounts. You can even download Development builds on their forum. It has a pleasant interface and a lot of options.
i just use the gmail app , no complaints here. Guess it all depends on what you want in the app.

cheers guys ill go through them and c which is the one for me..
Cloudmagic (free and perfect for exchange accounts, but a little "dangerous" about privacy) or Aquamail (very good but free version is limited to 2 accounts and adds app infos in each outgoing mail sign and paid version is expensive for me, about 4 euros).
AquaMail but has no threaded messaging, some like that feature, I don't.
SolMail is good too.
Mailwise too.

Have you ever tried MailWise Beta? It allows you to bypass the exchange security lock if that is something you are interested in or if you company policy enforces that. I think it has a nice interface as well. I guess it all depends on user preference.

I am running an Xposed module that allows me to turn it off. I am also using Wanam Xposed that has the option in it as well.
Edit:
If that doesn't work for you, you could always try MailWise Beta. They have an option to turn that off as well with a code. Download the app, before setting up your account, open the app, hit the menu button, click on exchange bypass and follow the instructions.

[Q] Alternative Email Clients

So I have had my 12.2 since the second week of April. My 2 week return period came and went as I do like this tablet a lot. Coming from an iPad and working in a MS world I really loathe the Samsung default email client. The font size is horrificly large. The font settings in the client and the system itself seem to have little to no effect making it look fugly. (yes im aware this is an opinion)
Outlook is great on my phone but looks like a** on this tablet.
I am a Hotmail/Outlook user (I do have gmail but been forwarding to Outlook for 2 years now and I suppose I could go back and try the Google client if need be)
I was curious as to what other clients the other 12.2 users are rocking...
*note - not rooted........yet*
First, try changing to a different font other than default. There are several which come with the P900, as well as a large number you can buy on the playstore for 99 cents. Some make the default Samsung email client quite usable IMO.
That said, look at cloud magic. It's a great all in one solution.
I use Aquamail. It has a number of user configurable items and seems to work very well. For Web outlook connected to my enterprise account I use OWM Web email.
Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
I second Aquamail. I've tried a handful of exchange compatible ones and this one is currently tops on my list followed by Touchdown.
K-9 for me, using IMAP servers. Took a little digging to figure out how to configure a couple of things, but once I did, it's been very intuitive and flawless for me.

Does cloudmagic work with multiple exchange calendars? Currently I'm using Touchdown and generally it works OK but my exchange account at work has calendars for meetings, on-call shifts, car use, and a bunch of other stuff. I haven't had any luck as of yet locating an app that could do this. Despite that KitKat supposedly supports it.

i'll add my vote for k-9. been using it for awhile, does everything and works really well with multiple accounts from multiple sources (9 email addresses spread over gmail, yahoo, and live) keeps everything color coded and organized so i know exactly what came from where.
google client... ugh. as far as i know there is still no way to disable 'conversation view'; where it group emails together in coversations with newest on the bottom, so you're guaranteed to NOT notice new messages and be unable to find anything.
-lq
I could never get K9 to work with the exchange servers my company uses. I've tried a few others including purchasing licenses Touchdown and Moxier. I ended up settling with Aquamail which seems to be the most stable and reliable app yet for my needs. The widget settings are just right as are the theme settings (I like transparent scrolling widgets and dark app themes) and the UI itself works well on tablets.
[email protected] works great!

It's about time they support more than Gmail. Now if they get around to supporting Exchange life would be great. I guess one can keep dreaming.
On a side note, is there a way to change the font size and or color? I don't dig the smaller grey fonts, a total PITA to read on a white background.
OK, fixed font size with the App Settings X posed module, set the Gmail font size to 110%. Unfortunately that does not help with the font color. Who was the UI design genius who decided that a gray font on a white background is a good idea?

I forgot that you also have to update the Google Exchange apk before you see that option in the new Gmail 5.0 app. Check out this blog post for more information and the apk links. But yes, it does work after updating both apks.
Thanks for the clarification. It will indeed do Exchange but STILL no threading of any type. How 90s... I am sticking with Nine for the moment. Nice interface, good threading, outstanding support, access to your corporate email directory . Well worth the $10 if you do a lot of exchange email.

I'd strongly recommend K9 as an email app. Been using that since my G1 and it's still outstanding!

These guys are not actually correct.
The "stock" email program STILL EXISTS, and in fact, is actually INSTALLED on Pixel devices from factory!
BUT, google has merged its UI into the GMAIL program.
So you have two options if you want to use the "stock" email program;
1) Set up your IMAP email account through the GMAIL program,
2) DISABLE the gmail program, and guess what happens? The "email" program launcher icon shows up in your launcher!
HOWEVER, it really is a much better idea to use k9mail instead. It is far more feature rich.

Aquamail Pro is nice, arguably better than K9, although it was just acquired by MobiSystems so who knows how future updates are going to look. Large companies acquiring small, indie developer projects does not usually end well for the app.
Security-wise, Aquamail, K9 and Nine are about the only third-party apps I'd consider.
I know this thread is now almost 2 months old.
what I"m looking for is a mail app to keep my gmail separate from my 2 exchange emails - and it MUST integrate with a calendar widget.
I haven't found one that works best. I liked the old "Mail" app - I could left swipe to delete, right to options - all your reply, reply-all, forward options right at the top of each message, rather than the options dots.
Outlook won't get sucked into my Google Calendar.

Yeah, definitely for Exchange. I still prefer K9 for IMAP (easy to have lots of aliases) but Nine is definitely where it's at for Exchange. Great integration to Calendar and more!
It seems that only the Lollipop branch of the stock email app 7.0-x is merged into Gmail. Earlier versions of the stock email app, targeted for KitKat like email app 6.3-x, are still working. I am on CM 11 and the fresh installed email app 6.3-1218562 seems functional and wants to be configured with an email account.
However, regarding security concerns it may be still better to use an alternative mail client like K9. I ask me now how that one performs on low-level phones with weak hardware. All these super-rich features of that nice K9 mailing app needs surely hardware power. I noticed a similar behavior also on more recent Gmail versions. These are far more hardware hungry then older ones. That's the reason why I like the stock email app, - it seems lightweight and fast.

Anyone using MailDroid?

MailDroid is my standard mail app, used it on many phones. But I'm having trouble using it on the Mate. When a message comes in the notification sound is cut off very quickly or doesn't sound at all.
The developer says the app works OK on the latest Android, but I think it might be related to the unusual Huawei chipset.

I am having the same issue. Any resolution? I have tried different stock sounds as well as my own; all get cut off or play for a split second.
Still no fix here. I thought it might be due to the Mate's very strict battery saving. But I've tried all the settings without success.
I know MailDrid's tech support were looking into it - perhaps you could drop them an email?

Try this... activate notifications in the Gmail app. Turn sounds + icon notifications off in Maildroid. Place a Maildroid widget on your Home Screen which shows the badge count of new emails. When Gmail sound-notifies, open via Maildroid. Once the message is read, the Gmail notification icon disappears from Notifications Bar.
PS... still no response from the dev from my 2 emails.
