Hi,
So I want to buy a USB C to A cable and a case for the Nexus 5X which I will also buy soon.
I was wondering if, traditionally, are there deals on relatively cheap products such as cables and cases on black Friday? Or in other words - is there any reason to wait before buying those things?
I'm also wondering if I should wait until black Friday to purchase the Nexus 5X itself. Since it's a new phone, I find it hard to believe there will be discounts on it, especially on the Google play store. Am I wrong?
Also do these deals happen in other websites outside of the U.S like Handtec or Clove? I don't live in the U.S, which means that in order to buy electrical products from Amazon (even cases) I have to use a third party shipping company, which just increases the cost. The above mentioned websites do ship to my country so if they have black Friday deals it's really for the best.
Thanks!
No one? Just want to know if there are deals on cables and cases, because I never really looked at these things on black Friday.

I am looking for this cradle from anywhere that accept Paypal but except mobilefun.co.uk.
I haven't managed to find any though. If anyone found one or similar (but with audio jack and headphone external jack like that one), let me know.
Yeah my eye also on this cradle. Unfortunately I haven't found it on ebay either. Mobilefun only has it. I hope Chinese guys wake up immediately and see this
mobilefun will stock it in 2 days but I'm not willing to buy anything from a shop which uses discrimination policy (higher price for non-UK buyers) when others sell at the same price. Since they are all Chinese, let's wait and see, maybe they appear somewhere else as well.

Hey! We're just getting our own back. Normally we (in the UK) pay MORE than non-UK peeps for the same thing. The usual story is that something that costs $10 in the US will cost £10 here. When the exchange rate is £1=$1.50!!!!
And I can't see the different pricing. I put one in my 'cart' and asked for international delivery and it was just a few pence more than delivery in the UK .... and they HAVE to charge more for international delivery than UK delivery seen as how they're a UK company.
Or have I missed something?

You are missing something.
Of course delivery price will be higher depending on the destination. The price difference I mention is not in regards to exchange difference. I mean that you buy a DHD for example which is shown GBP470, if I buy it from outside UK, they will convert it to somewhere around GBP560 although this is not the real exchange rate. I contacted them and they state this as a policy. mobilefun and expansys does this so I am not shopping from them. handtec and a few other shops don't do this. I bought my DHD for GBP470 form them at that price and the loss of currency convertion will be something that I either win or lose during payment from my bank account and it wil not be so significant, maybe a few pounds.

Oh, I see what you're saying. But that's just what we Brits have had to put up with for years so I have no sympathy for that particular problem. Hope you get the best deal you can though.

Was interested in this but £20+ seems quite steep for a piece of plastic, a USB cable and a battery connector.

I'm sure this is the same if not a similar product if your looking for a Paypal compatible seller.
Anybody know of a cheaper version of the product without the extra battery charger?
I've seen a lot of...

these floating around eBay but worry about the transfer speed / reliability of the product.

as an experienced ebay user in both selling and buying, you will be hard pushed to find something cheap that is shipped quickly AND is of good quality, better to spend more and get it from a reputable supplier
Hi I wanted to cover a few things such as:
- which sites in your region (Europe, America, etc.) do you recommed to buy phones?
- why and how do some online retailers sell just a phone and maybe a wall charger...where do they get the phones and where does the rest of retail contents go?
- would you say that generally speaking, if a price seems a bit too cheap on a phone (e.g. €50/$50 cheaper than others) then you have to be careful online?
- have you ever bought a phone on eBay, expansys or Amazon? How did that purchase go?
- any advice on detecting a reputable/scam seller/phone?
I hope that different people can pick up a few tips here about phones online etc.
For me, I bought a phone online a few years ago, turned out to be a dodgy imitation from China. Since then I've been extra cautious and learned a lot about how that works from experienced eBay members. I've since purchased only in retail stores. Now, I'm in the market for a new phone :victory: and have been browsing online. So many sellers online don't tell you much about the product, and to some degree, if you don't ask or it's not specified, you could get screwed over.
in the USA, i usually shop at newegg or tigerdirect. Best places for me to shop at, and good shipping too. Th.e sites give you a wide variety of items to buy, and sometimes give you deals of the days and bundles. Check them out.

Both Clove and Handtec do not stock it for preorders.
That's really odd.
Usually they carry the white variant of previous Xperias.
Can anybody recommend a good site for ordering a White Z3?
I need to know this too. I looked at clove, handtech and carphone. Cant seem to find a white one.
Yeah I changed my mind on getting the green one because of the black front and I'm aiming for a white one now. I don't know where you're located (looks like Canada?) but Expansys-USA has it - no price yet it's only a pre-order. I'm assuming that'll pop up when Sony's own US site gets it in.
It was an exclusive for phones4u in the UK, now theyve gone in to administration. So i dont know who will be stocking the white one now, its the colour that i want now they've decided to make the whole phone white, looks really nice.
The Sony Mobile Shop has the white model and they are also offering the SBH80 for £1 with preorders (RRP £90 ish).
Is Expansys Reputable, I'm in the US and patiently waiting...

Do you know if they will ship internationally?
rmd0311 Expansys have been around for quite a long time, they have a pretty good reputation. Haven't bought anything from them recently but never had a problem with them.
ssj_jaypee No idea you would need to ask them. I would imagine the SBH80 offer is UK specific.
FYI the White Z3 has now appeared on the Handtec website but no release details yet.
So the next question., is handtec a reputable seller... I can buy from them, pay for 2 day shipping and still be cheaper than never-msrp current price on eBay.

Yes they are. I've used them twice to purchase my Z and Z1.
Very good service and quick overnight delivery.
As the title really, are we expected to see the forge tv in the UK? If so, How much you think it'll be? £99?
I'm so tempted to get it ordered from Razor US, sent to a shipping company who would forward it on to me in the UK - Comes with google play store on aswell, root is probably fairly likely. Would maybe work out no more than £140 after shipping and fees too.
I'd probably buy two (roughly same shipping cost I'd imagine) and put the spare on eBay to recoup some of my cost in fairness. Either way, has anyone used any services such as the above and can you recommend any?
Thanks

FTR, I've ordered two units from Razer. Getting shipped to an american company. It will then be sent to me in the UK. I will likely stick one on eBay and keep the other (then selling my Fire TV). Should hopefully end up upgrading at no cost by the time the other is sold.
Will be much better over the Fire TV.
yesterday a disaster striked, i was riding my bicycle peacefully down the road with my oneplus on the handlebar using a bicycle cell phone mount, and then all of a sudden, the mount came off of the bicycle handlebar and right behind me was a car, my opo got ran over by it and, despite being in a case + tempered glass, the screen shattered really badly, touchscreen doesn;t work, though the screen still turns on and the phone still works just fine (can receive calls and chats, can still pair to my Moto 360) so i think it's only the screen that is broken
so just a while ago i called the oneplus warranty center in my country, asked them how much it would cost to replace the screen and they want 150 bucks for it, damn that is half the price of the entire phone...such a rip-off
and then i went to ebay and found dozens of oneplus one replacement digitizer+lcd, complete with tools for around 40-50 bucks, and most of the sellers have good ratings....but it just doesn't add up, oneplus wants 150 bucks for it while ebay sellers only want 40 bucks ?
are they selling fake screens ? (same shape but different resolutions and colors) or are they really legit?
has anyone ever bought one ? is it recommended ??
http://goo.gl/YqetrS
i really wanna buy it as its really cheap but i still have some doubts...either the screen isn't full hd or has poor colors..
i really don't feel like shelling out 150 bucks just to have the screen repaired, i might as well get a new phone then..but i still love my opo
thanks!
150 bucks includes the handing fees, anyway, OPO charges too much for it. The screen replacement costs about $70. I'd suggest this online seller: http://www.etradesupply.com/oneplus-one-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-black-24812.html and here is the tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YYhGtk99Qw
Good luck!
i haven't bought from eaby, i heard that many sellers provide poor quality screen
Might end up being a pain and even taking a while but I'd give the eBay seller a try. You can ask the seller about it's quality beforehand. Use PayPal. If it's legit, cool you got a new cheap screen and that's the end of it. If it's not and the end the product doesn't match what the seller told you just open a dispute with paypal claiming you were ripped of and show up what the seller told you as proof. PayPal usually decides in favor of the buyer. I've even seen the buyer ending up with the product and the money in some cases.
