There was a rumor going around the Radioshack might be giving the inspires out early - can anyone confirm a case of this? I had called two stores and they both said no, however if someone can confirm a positive on this - I will keep calling!
The stores were given strict instructions not to. Plus many of them have likely not received their stock yet.

Thanks, this is what I thought. When I reserved mine the guy said that the system won't even allow them to sell them until Sunday... but then again on various message boards there were people saying the Radioshack sales rep that they pre-ordered their phone with said they would call them if they got them early. If the sales reps are unsure of information, they should just not say anything.

Keep in mind that a Radio Shack employee isn't much higher on the ladder than a McDonald's employee. So you can't expect much common sense from them. lol

Well, maybe a little higher than McD's employee... but I haven't been inside McD's in about 12 years.
My Radioshack guy was way to "YEAH BRO, TOttalLy bro! Sick Phone Bro!!" for my taste. I'm not really a personable shopper... I kinda want to get in, take care of business and get out while in a store.
I actually just came from a radioshack after calling the store and she told me I could buy one...I was like are u sure?? She said yeah ..come over...I rushed over there to talk to her, she went back to get it and give it to me and her manager saw her...and said no! What a **** lol...anyways she atleast opened the box and let me play with it for awhile...thing is sexy! Feels so solid..camera is awesome ...and btw everyone *****ing about the battery cover being tough to come off is either a like girl or a retard...got it off in no time...can't wait till Sunday now! Ima pick one up first thing

man I was just in radio shack today and they wouldn't let me pre order - they said they'll only have 4 left after the pre orders so I'd better be there when they open on sunday if I want one.
Went in my local Radio Shack yesterday, and they told me the pre order deadline was on Wednesday. Anyhow, they called me today and have one with my name on it for Sunday morning pick up. I doubt if these people will let one go early.
I also pre-ordered from RS and have been trying to get them to give it to me early, lol. When I pre-ordered on the 8th, guy said they were getting it in on the 10th and I could pick it up then!
So I went back on the 10th and unfortunately there was a different guy working and he refused to give it to me. Bah! I think it depends on the person there, some people seem to be more/less knowledgeable that others.
That being said, just heard Costco has them now and are being sold. I'm going over soon and see if they sell them off-contract. If not, then I'll swing by RS again and see who's working tonight, lol. Worth a try.
Looks like the only chance I have to get this a little early is to drop by RS before closing on Sat night, and hope they're cool enough to let me walk out with it...
I don't know why ATT is making such a big deal about the 13th release date. If a store has in stock, who cares!

I went in today and bribed the Guy to sell me one and he finally caved and went to ring me up....only to find out the sku wasn't recognized and it was literally impossible to buy guess I will be there bright and early. On a side note I also went in to att to ask about the price off contract as I heard it was 399 at corporate stores only for them to rudely tell me that because there wasn't a price tag yet that they couldn't tell me. Wtf att?? That kind of bull**** is probably why I will still buy at radio shack even if att is cheaper.

Got mine today from Radio Shack. Got to know the tricks. I was buying outright so that may have been the difference. He rang me up with 481.49 in gift cards. He will use those gift cards to ring the actual phone tomorrow. I waled out with a phone and was happy. I do have to make a return trip to get my real receipt. Radio Shack is supposedly $50 higher than COR stores on an outright purchase. I had a Otterbox Defender IP4 that I was given from there for Christmas. He took that back which netted my price down to about the same as the COR stores. If I did not have the freebie $50 off, I would have just waited to get it at a COR.

Haha, I considered that also, slipping the guy a $20... but if the sku won't even take, then I guess I'll just have to wait until Sunday morning.
BTW, I was looking at my pre-sale receipt and it does not mention the 2/13 release date at all - it only says they'll hold it for 3 days after getting it in stock. I suppose if you wanted to be a giant PITA, you could make a fuss out of it, but whatever... I'll just wait.

The deposit you pay when you first sign up, do you get that back after the 1st year is up or the 2nd?...
and do they just give you the money back or applying "credit" to your account?... that and can you just use it towards another phone?

I believe you are looking at about a 6-8 month turnaround. They review your account after so much time and if its in good standing, you get it back.

cool. it's been 5 months so far. wonder if i should put it to a new phone or stick with this thing a tad longer. granted, this is the only "current" phone that i like.

FYI, a quick story....
When I signed up with Verizon in 2006 (freshly 18, and had zero credit) i was required to place a $100 deposit which I would recieve back after a year of good payments. After about 18 months, i realized that i never got my deposit back. It took a few phone calls, to both Verizon and my Bank for them to give my $100 back.... so while they did give me the money back.... my advice would be to hold onto that receipt!!!
deposits are held for one year.
After a year, they will review for things like bounced checks and such. As long as you have clean payment history, they apply the deposit to the account, then mail a check for any remain credit balance.
If you don't pass the review, they hold it for a few more months and review again. They'll continue to hold until you have something like 3 months of clean payments.

Kudos to you for staying in good standing.
I love people with such bad credit that can't pay their bills, yet they can afford a smartphone with a data plan. Oops, did I just say that?
I got mine about a year after. But i called them on the dot LOL . 2 weeks later got my Mula.

Hey some people have awesome priorities! But also keep in mind that sometimes "bad" credit isnt their doing or happened because of circumsatances beyond their control. Divorces, theft identity,things like that. Did you know that credit reporting companies in themselves arent the most honest people to deal with (unless you are an A+ list celeb)
The area I personally start having problems is, seeing as how I believe everyone should have a second chance, as long as they learn from their mistakes (as I had to), and do not repeat them.Or the ones that constantly feed off the "government trough" but thats another story.

When i went back to Verizon after being away for several years... They wanted a $400... I waited three months and tried again got in with no deposit... And no change in credit score according to the service I was using at the time... Go figure...

When I first signed up for Verizon I was about 20 tears old and had 0 credit. I signed up online and didn't have to out a deposit down.

that's not bad, had to pay 250 per line on sprint years ago. The weird thing is, about every six months, they would credit it back, even though it had already been credited. Happened 4-5 times over the years.
Well, after trying to make a trade for my phone to a guy that had rep in Puerto Rico, it had failed. He tried to scam me. Instead of a phone in the mail, i got a disc for a manual to a car. And, it went to an address close to my house of an automotive place. So, i was able to stop the packages before they reached him. They recalled them. They were overnighted back to Des Moines, IA. Then, due to a shipping error, they were shipped back to Puerto Rico. So, the post master has been notified and they are now going to package them up and ship directly to my post office where I will be able to pick up directly without worry of it being sent back. Cost me 5 bucks to ship to PR. Cost me 4 times that to recall them and wait 2 weeks.
Needless to say, when I get my phone back, I will definitely be hugging it and giving it some TLC. I sold the Note that I had on crackberry. So all I had was a Motorola razor v3. hate that phone!!!
But, come May when I am due for early upgrade to iPhone-I will be making that switch to a 32gb. If I don't decide to wait for iPhone5.

I was emailed a rewardzone mobile deal today for a free $100 gc (rewardzone points) for any cell phone purchase and 24 mo agreement including the one x.
I will be going to bestbuy and getting the deal or its getting returned and repurchased. Looks like white is out of stock , but grey is still in stock if anyone is interested. Looks to be online only deal.

Just a heads up , I went to the bestbuy store and they wouldnt do a thing for me. They told me since its online only I would have to call in and see what they can do. I will try that and let you know what happens. Worst case I return it and reorder online. Im leading towards that anyways since I have a dead pixel.
I was directed to call rewardzone directly, through 1888bestbuy. They said I could get the $100, but I would need to return my phone and get it from reward zone directly.

Best buy was the only place you could find this phone in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada).. they seem to always have a few extra phones that are in high demand.. the thing is, it usually takes a little while for them to help you out... but at least I got my HOX on release day. the rogers store didn't even have any

What did you have to tell them to get hooked up?
All I told them was I received the deal in my email for the 100 dollar giftcard w/ any cell phone purchase (which i did less than 30 days ago) asked him what my options were , return it or if there was something he could do.
I just tried this, and they were snippy with me. They said that I'd have to return the phone. I mentioned that I "had a friend" who was just given the credit, and the rep said "I can neither confirm nor deny that." Sounded like a canned speech.

I am, yeah. I'm going to try again later today just to be sure. I'm interested in hearing if anyone else gets them to do this. I have and like my white one, and I don't really feel like having to go through the hassle of the return process.

How does a grown person just "Melt down" @ 10:15 in the morning over a device that's not supposed to be released to them until the 10th?

My mom is coming in to get a phone. All she knows is that it is big, and she doesn't have to squint to see the text messages when the she doesn't have her glasses on.... She won't yell or scream at you. She won't complain about not having accesories. All you have to do is transfer her contacts and photo's. And show her how to assign ringtones. Please be nice to her

This forum has actually made me feel bad for what the CSR's go through. I've always been more than polite to them (because who wants to help an asshole?) but I've silently resented them for not trying to be more sympathetic. Well I see why now, they put up with so much of peoples **** it makes them callous. I'm sure we have some members on this forum that are CSRs and I would love to hear some horror stories :laugh:

I actually just got off the phone with Verizon to ask about International roaming plan options and asked about shipping date for the Note 3 for the hell of it.
The woman I spoke to was like 'Oh yeah, we have it'
I got excited.
Then she said 'It's available on 10/10 for pre-order'
Sadness ensues.

I have dealt with the same store for years now. They try to help as much as they possibly can and the majority of the customers appreciate them calling corp sprint and working stuff out. Maybe because its a corporate store or maybe because of the clientele. But Christ, some people are complete douche nozzles... Without any tack or situational awareness. But the CSR's at this store are definitely very understanding and courteous.
Heh. Any chance this is in LA? I've been on the phone all morning with an AT&T rep who's been calling AT&T stores in the LA area trying to find me a black Note 3. None of them have inventory, but apparently some crazy lady is calling around giving everyone a hard time lol.
EDIT: Turns out they do have the black ones in stock after all. Sorry for the misinformation!

There just aren't enough of them so they started brawling. That is just so pathetic, it is a phone, you can order one and get it later on. Yeah I want my phone early, called BB, certainly didn't drive there to day and was told nope, the 10th. I was cool with that and figured it would be the case but hey it never hurts to ask.

Yeah there a few stories of people being .. people...
On the bright side my mom got her device and is a happy camper.Which ever CSR she dealt with was courteous and spent time showing her a bunch of stuff and filming it at the same time. Gave her a copy so she wouldn't forget any of the new things she was shown. She gave a $35 tip for their time. And bought the person a starbucks coffee.
