SMS not working after Rooting Xperia Z2 D6503 - General Questions and Answers

Hi all,
I have tried searching around for this answer but really struggling so any help will be greatly appreciated, please!
Yesterday I rooted my Xperia Z2 (D6503). It is working in as much as calls, 3g etc. SMS refuses to play ball, whenever I send a text it says "Could Not Send" and I cannot receive either. The service centre is correct and I have followed the post 6 here to reset it to the correct value for Three UK.
The ROM I used was downloaded from XperiFirm and was "United Kingdom, customized UK 23.4.A.1.232 / R8C." The phone was also loaded with "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46" and "Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21-RELEASE.flashable." Root is working fine.
The only thing I can think of is that the GSM band is wrong for some reason as SMSs get sent on that and not 3/4G. I did find a way of checking and it stated something like "USA GSM Band" but I can't remember how I did that now, I think it was a *# code. Based upon this I tried using the guide by olokos found here to unlock all bands on my phone but I get stuck at part 13 (unlucky!!) because I cannot for love nor money find Xperia Z2 Diagnostic Drivers.
Many thanks in advance for any help!
TL;DR; Rooted my Xperia Z2, all works fine except SMS which refuses to send or receive.

[Q] Unlocked Sony Arc hotspot not working on Fido

Hey there everyone
first time post on this forum. Hopefully someone can give me some good news on how to fix my problem.
I am on the Fido network in Vancouver, BC. I recently bought a Sony Arc from Rogers and had it unlocked. Everything on the phone works great, but I cannot get my mobile hotspot to work. Wifi, GPS, email, etc. all work fine.
I had read somewhere that I might have to change my APN settings, but when I did that, flash turned off on my web browser - maybe I had put in the wrong setting.
Then I also read that you have to change your WAP settings, but I don't know where to find that.
Hopefully someone here can give me some good news on how to fix this bug. I did phone both Fido and Rogers and they said that it should work and that nothing is blocked on my account.
Would really appreciate some feedback and some help with thanks. Thanks in advance.

[Q] Network Unavailable Emergency Calls Only

Hello Everyone,
I got my first android phone this weekend, a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 (not I1900G, or any other variant, just plain old I9100) which was locked to T-mobile UK.
After doing a bit of reading and trying out 3 different methods for rooting, CF-root, insecure kernel, and finally the method described here for rooting stock ICS firmware without flashing an insecure kernel by Rachmat3:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
After rooting method #2 (flash insecure kernel, run S2-root on phone) I ran chainfire's [root] Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock, this didn't work, so I ran Galaxy_S Unlock and it worked. At this stage I could use my phone for calls and sms though my SIM's network provider (virgin), and I later figured out how to get virgin to send me a configuration message to set up the APN settings, and I could then use 3G data to browse the web, etc...
However, I lost root when I flashed a secure kernel, and updated the firmware to XWLP7 from the intratech list of official kernels & firmwares:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Hence why I used Rachmat3's method #3 to regain root access, which worked like a charm.
However, I then lost the ability to make calls, send SMS and the phone refused to find the virgin network! Disaster! 3G still worked fine for data, and when I tried my sim card in my old phone I could still make calls and it found the virgin network immediately. I tried my gf's virgin sim in the SGS2 and it could find the virgin network but wouldn't connect any calls, it kept saying "unable to connect, try again later".
After reading around, I suspect that this may be a modem problem, can anyone confirm or deny this? I have the modem that came with intratech's XWLP7 firmware, which I believe is XXLPS. Can anyone recommend which modem I should try?
I have a real imei number, I tried flashing the CPW version of the XWLP7 rom instead of the XEU one, no luck, I tried a few other things that I can't remember now as it's first thing in the morning at work!
Any help, suggestions, or direction would be greatly appreciated, I was almost there on my own - fell at the last hurdle!
No-one else has this problem?
I've tried my sim card in it again this evening, I am unable to select virgin or Virgin from the network providers, but all other providers are there, o2, etc...
What's perculiar, is that when I use my gf's sim, both virgin and Virgin and all other providers are present, however, even with this sim, I still cannot make calls, even though it connects to the network, what the heck!?!
I've tried using different modems, no help.
Please anyone, any ideas?
I've contacted virgin this evening, they say the imei code isn't on their blacklist, I can't contact t-mobile until tomorrow, but I will ring them tomorrow and find out if they've blacklisted the imei for some reason.
Help!!
Any ideas, anyone else had similar problems?
Plz help!
I am looking forward to anyone's help about this question!
Hi all,
Just found out that the IMEI has been listed as lost or stolen by t-mobile. In contact with original owner to try and rectify the problem.
Anyone else having this issue, it's likely the same problem, contact the original carrier and ask to check their IMEI blacklist.
On a related note, does this mean that the previous owner of every second hand phone that is sold can just ring up their old provider and blacklist that IMEI whenever they want?
Seems like a bit of a massive oversight if you ask me... Surely there must be a way to transfer ownership of the IMEI number to a new owner?

[Q] Problems with Verizone Galaxy S3 as GSM Global

Hello there,
I am trying to get my Verizon Galaxy S3 to work in Germany. I have rooted my phone and flashed JellyBeans vs. 0.1.8.
I followed the steps in this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809314
When I am in the Mobile networks settings, I have changed the access points name to Vodafone (the carrier I am trying to use ) I have already changed the Network mode with the Phone Info app. After I try to change the access points name, it asks me to select a network operator. My phone then begins searching and it lists Vodafone DE as one of the options to select. When I select that option, my phone tries to register this option, but eventually it says "Unable to Connect, Try again later"
Can anyone offer any advice as to how to get my phone working with Vodafone? I've read and reread the guide I listed above, as well as searched for other threads that talk about issues similar to what I am experiencing, but I haven't had any luck. I would appreciate it so much if anyone has any suggestions!
Thanks!:fingers-crossed:

[Q] Xperia J Not Registering with Any network

Hi There,
I have SONY Xperia J Locked on Three Network on UK. Now I am out of UK. I recently Unlocked the phone. IT was working fine with other Network. Today I changed sim card. After that It is not registering with any Network.. It Shows " No Sim card, No Service2" on Lock Screen.
When i Search available Networks Manually it shows all Available Networks.. But If i select any Network It says "your sim card does not allow a connection to this network ".
I Googled For solution But I couldn't find any..
I tried the Following none of them work
1.Reset to Factory Setting - Still Same problem.
2. *#*#4636#*#* then checked the Phone Information.. Changed Preferred Network Type to Almost all possible Options But Still no use..
I tried Turn of Radio and Turn on again .. but no use..
Phone Info:
Signal Strength : -73dBm 20 asu .. but it varies to -100 and so on..
Android Version :4.1.2
Kernal Version : 3.4.0
My question is If I flash my Phone to ICS or JB again, will it resolve the Problem..?
Also is it because of any damage in sim slot..? cause it happened after i changed the sim card..

Can't get my SIM card to work

Hello everyone, i have a sim-free Xperia Z3 (D6643)
However, i can't use it with my main carrier (strangely enough it came with that same carrier ROM/bloatware pre-installed). Signal pops up, mobile data connects and let me uses it just fine, but when i try to make calls/send texts or recieve those, it doesn't.
"Conditional call forwarding enabled" is the message i recieve, then it disconnects the call.
I'm using an alternative carrier that works just fine '-'
Question for the advanced users of flashtools (if this have something to do with my issue).
i flashed a already packed .tft ROM.
Read in a tutorial that i must exclud all the ".ta" files before make a .tft, analyzing the files before making a .tft i've foun a "SIM Lock.ta" let it out of the process and build my .tft just fine, but i haven't flashed this ROM because i'm not sure if i'll be able to use my usual carrier after the process.
Can anyone confirm that?
Right now i'm sitting at 23.4.A.1.232 for the D6603 model.
I know someone must know a way out for this :fingers-crossed:
Which network provider do you use? Try disabling ALL call forwarding through call settings.

Hello sir, i looked up to call forwarding settings and it's all disabled already... Yet, when i try to change any settings there a message says that network isn't responding, something like that.
My country has four major carriers, it just works properly with only one!!
Really strange, given the fact that we don't have carrier locked or exclusive devices plus all the things i've spotted in my first post (signal is full, 4g conneceted).
