I recently installed the latest (Oct 17) Blisspop. I had a problem with the tablet not being recognized by my computer so I searched for a solution and finally after a few days flashed the Bit-O K2-005 kernel which didn't help.
Next, I flashed the DTB file which also didn't help, but it's then that I noticed a significant battery drain on idle. Since only a few hours passed between flashing the K2 kernel and the DTB file I'm not sure when the battery drain started to manifest.
Finally, I flashed the KX-060 kernel and now my tablet gets recognized by my PC and it correctly shows that it is charging while connected, but the battery problem persists.
Anyone had a similar experience and came up with a solution?

Blisspop update night test cases for your tablet
I downloaded a version of 5 November - it works well! Connecting to a computer works and the sound is not distorted! http://click.xda-developers.com/api... | Nvidia Shield Tablet | XDA Forums&txt=here
That's great to hear, thanks! No problems with battery life?

Checked gamepad work today - is not connected !!! Everything else works ...
I think it's the Bit-O kernel, I get massive drain on cm 12.1 after flashing it, stock kernel that is supplied is much more battery efficient.
I finally flashed the nightly build yesterday. No more battery drain. I now lose only 1% overnight compared to more than 30% I used to lose with the Oct 17 build.

From what I understood, they were resolved. But to make sure, turn the sleep mode off on the WiFi.

The Nov 5th Nightly was awesome for performancebut the wifi was a bit weak... and still is ( 24-Nov nightly)
also tried RaymanFX Elite Kernel to see if that would fix the WiFi problem.... got no WiFi at all now!!

To be honest I've given up on cm. I'm using teameos' ROM. It's way more stable overall.

What the best stock android based rom. I'm currently using the latest stable cm10.1 but it gets terrible battery life.

Threads like this get closed as there isn't any rom that is best at anything. Even if we give you a rom suggestion you still have to do your part as battery life depends on how much you use your phone, ,what is running in the background and any other factors that might drain your battery.
Don't forget that beyond the ROM, battery life is dramatically affected by your settings, background apps that affect sleep state, and especially your Kernel selection and kernel settings.

OP, yes threads like this get closed due to the bashing/flaming....
The Best Stock base ROM, is just that....Stock. And there is nothing wrong with running Stock, with so many different apps that Users run/have, what is best battery life for you, may not be best for others...and as we know just because we have the same device/model does not mean we will have the same results.
Thanks....

LoL i would like to know to. one method i use is i flash xxkpe, root and wipe data etc... install rom...wipe data, cache and dalvik and reboot but it only seems to work with cm10 A9 builds :/ Current rom slimbean 10.2 A2. epic but hate the batter drain. i wonder if using the media sync, battery database from stock GB rom and merging it with JB builds is possible. then again im a newbie and i dont know **** lol

what i mean is:
Use XXKPQ stock firmware as base (then root)
Calibrate battery apps from playstore (dunno if that works)
install custom rom EHNDROIX which is excellent on battery life but has a few flaws
all in all i dont think custom roms + good battery life go or else samsung wouldve updated our phones with ics/JB but our phones are too poor to handle the newer software so if u want good battery life then stick to stock firmware or gingerbread-based custom roms
10.2 A2 10 hrs. Still good. Sometimes it survives only 6 hrs. I fall down to 10.1 A9 Liquid smooth only for the battery. Tonight gonna test the A3. Let's see what is waiting with A3. Hope the best.

10hour sucks since it dies so quick when im out, how long does the battery last on liquid smooth rom?
Normal use over 20hrs with 10.1 A9 Liquid smooth. 10.2 till not giving good battery life. Only half a day life. Never mind, god dhiru will fix it just in time.

Very long battery life with CM10 Alpha 4 with Alpha 11 kernel v4 about 12-16 hours, but CM10.1 Alpha 9 only 6-8 hours. (Not sleep, Wi-Fi, gaming, 3G, calling)
hey guys i think Losco rom is the best till now also Losco is working hard to keep this rom updated so big thanks to him

how long does it last?
I am also looking for a stable Android 4.1 or 4.2 ROM for my i9003, I don't want too-many features but the ROM should be light and should have all basic features like wifi / calling / keyboard working.
I have noticed that all 4.1 or 4.2 ROMs heat up the phone as our hardware is old and the basic hardware requirement for these ROM is higher.
If a lighter ROM can be prepared with basic functionality then the battery should also last.
10.2 A3 is good for battery. do a clean flash and let the system to stabilize...

My battery could be old but the same battery works for 12hrs when using stock ROM.
Also response is slow, maybe if I can find out all unwanted services I could remove then to speed up the phone.

You won't have the same battery duration with a custom ROM. ICS and JB needs more resources and battery drain faster. If you need battery duration, try with a GB ROM.
My oneplus download at max 50kb/s when in h+, I've tried both cos13 and sultan cm13, I can get decent speed on first boot but after a while I get ****ty speed

It's a bug on CM based ROMs I think. The fix is go to the APNs settings and delete duplicated APNs and the ones you don't use. Works for me.
In the apn section I've only got my apn.
Aren't all ROMs cm based?

Right now I have another problem... I updated the ResurrectionRemix and without knowing it overwrote the twrp recovery with the crippled cyanogenmod one for some reason. Now in download mode it isn't detected anymore by odin, I tryed different PCs, cables driver versions and odin version but nothing.
If you could help me here you would save my life
