If you, by some mistake, chose to install the OTA update on your rooted phone, and it's stuck in a boot loop, simply wipe the cache partition from TWRP, and you're good to go.

I've got a T-Mobile phone with stock updated to the last version, with TWRP 2.6.3.0 and root. Everything worked fine for a couple of months.
A month ago the phone started to boot loop with no apparent reason. I've wiped everything, re installed stock, rooted and used the phone again. I've thought it might be an app updated that screwed something.
Anyway, I've only got the basic apps on the phone and today it happened again. I've read that I need to boot into bootloader and selecr "CLEAR STORAGE", I've tried that but it goes into recovery and there I can only wipe the data. I've did that and rebooted and it didn't help.
Any other ways to fix this without re installing the rom?
I think that if you use the clear storage option, you will have to reinstall the rom. I believe it wipes the system partition as well.
If you want to do this, you should flash the stock recovery (get it here)
Go into the bootloader and select the clear storage option.
Then you can flash CWM or TWRP recovery again and install the ROM.
I was trying to downgrade and flash the shield factory image but i didn't backup and wiped everything, and i tried flashing in twrp and when i flash twrp just restarts and it won't work, I need help, anything in desperate need of it or i'll just end up selling this thing for parts, i can't boot the OS just bootloader and twrp
Hi guys, I have stock falcon 5.1 on my moto g and recovery twrp. I just received an OTA update and now i've got bootloop. If I reboot system from twrp, the phone boots but after few seconds it reboots and twrp comes again. How can I stop this process?
I know i made a big mistake, but now how can I solve this? Wipe cache should work?

Hey guys,
Right now I'm running latest 5.1.6 with magisk and official twrp.
Question: when I want to start from scratch, how can I wipe the phone properly without getting a bootloop or something. Do I have to wipe inside the Android system or do I have to boot up twrp recovery and use factory reset? Factory reset means all data will be wiped, do I have then to transfer twrp official installer and magisk zip again to the phone and flash them to start a fresh 5.1.6 rom on top of twrp official and magisk?
Thank you
Kind regards
Push
I'd recommend flashing full stock ROM. Thrn reboot to stock recovery and factory reset.
Then reflash twrp/magisk.
Just do a wipe in twrp and reflash the latest ota. A wipe won't erase your internal storage, so your installation files will still be there. (Remember you have to reinstall twrp after flashing an ota.)
So it's the same procedure when I want to downgrade from 5.1.8 to 5.1.7? Should I only do a factory reset in TWRP and then flash the flashable 5.1.7 full ota?
A factory reset will wipe all your files. Just wipe data in twrp.
So, I think I messed up. I tried to update my phone from MIUI V10.3.13.0.PFHINXM to V11.0.5.0.PFHINXM through TWRP (my previous thread is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-7-pro/help/how-to-update-to-miui-11-rooted-t3995083) but now it doesn't seem to want to boot to system anymore. My phone was rooted with Magisk, has Peter's TWRP and EdXposed and I tried updating it by downloading the whole update package (I think it's the recovery ROM) from the updater app and flashing it. I wiped cache and dalvik, reflashed TWRP and rebooted system. That's when it started bootlooping. I also thought I could fix it by flashing xiaomi.eu (this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-7-pro/how-to/rom-miui-11-xiaomi-eu-t3980851) but it didn't. I still have access to TWRP, is there still a way to fix my phone? It's okay if I need to erase all data, I have backups.
EDIT: I finally fixed my device, I just formatted all data, flashed xiaomi.eu (link above), reflashed TWRP and Magisk, and rebooted to system. I hope others can be helped by this post.
