I tried to flash a cm10 rom and i did thought i flashed the boot.img separately as i read you have to but it was stuck booting for at least 25 min so i gave up with that and tried to restore from a backup i made with twrp. I restored from the backup and tried to reboot but nothing happens, it shows the htc screen and then turns black and thats it. I can go into bootloader and recovery but im not sure what to do to get back. Should i try a ruu?

Maybe it was a bad restore? or a bad backup? You could try restoring from your backup again.
Or blaze on and see if you can get CM10 up and running.
Did you wipe /cache/dalvik/system when coming from stock (before installing)? I've seen situations (on other devices), Where I've had to delete the /data partition as well, I'm not sure why it wouldn't boot, but it refused to get past the CM load screen until the /data partition was wiped. If it's a new phone and you don't have too much on the sdcard, this might be worth trying.
Once you have TWRP flashing ROM's shouldn't be too bad, it's just the "fastboot flash boot boot.img" that catches people out usually.
you still have to flash boot.img separate before/after a twrp restore.
Grab the boot.img from a stock rom
Wipe cache/dalvik
Factory reset
Bootloader, fastboot usb, then fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then restore the backup
Thanks everyone for the responses, I was able to get it working after trying a few more times and wiping everything. Not sure why it didnt work earlier but all of a sudden after trying it just worked.
Hello, I wanted to flash CM10 nightly. In TWRP I did all wipes like cache, dalvik chche, Factory reset and system. After that my battery fell off the phone and I can't acces recovery any more. I've tried using fastboot to bring it back ( tried both CWM and TWRP) but nothing comes up, stuck on LG logo. I am using WKParks bootloader as well. I don't want to flash the kdz or bin as I don't want to loose my files.

I managed to enter recovery through fastboot mode.
Hey guys, im really desperate right now
Had xz dualrecovery and moonbreakers rom installed and wanted to do a clean install. I wiped system (which wasn't very clever i know) and wanted to reboot into recovery.
But now i can't get into recovery no more, tried volume up/down directly after turning on the phone. It just gets stuck at the sony screen. :crying:
The led doesn't turn green as well as it normally does
Is the situation really as serious as this thread might suggest?

No other way of getting into recovery and flash the rom? Without flashing with flashtool
Edit: my bootloader is locked
When you wiped the system you wiped the recovery as recovery is installed to the system partition on locked boot loaders.
You should be able to fix this by flashing a stock for and starting again from the root process...

Thanks, that's what i thought.
Can i do this without wiping internal storage?
I am a beginner in all this flashing things
I want to root my nexus5
So i saw a thread and was doing the same
I first unlocked my bootloader
Then i have to reboot my phone
But i didnt reboot and flashed twrp.img just after unlocking the bootloader
Now my phone is stuck on bootloop
When i turn on the phone
It shows the google bootlogo screen and shuts off and keep repeating the same
I need help
What to do
Please anyone help
Flash a stock recovery and then perform a factory wipe. If that doesn't work, reflash the entire factory image, perform a wipe in stock recovery, and reboot.
Hey people!
I got an issue with booting my phone. I've just flashed TWRP 3.0.2.0 on my sm-g920t, then I wiped my all data (I needed factory reset). Now, every time when I turn on my phone, it stucks on TWRP recovery mode and I can't set up my firmware, because it says there is no OS!
I have stock ROM. All I needed was the factory reset, but my system will not boot!
I guess I need a stock recovery tar file, because TWRP prevents me from using my phone. Does anybody have this file? I couldn't find that anywhere.
