I am really loving the design language Samsung is using with the new Galaxy S6/ Edge. It looks real premium. My question to you is would you buy the Galaxy S6/ Edge or wait for the Note 5? I should mention i am currently a Note 3 user.
Note 5.....absolutely. ....I'm on note 2. regards
Ketan Rom
I think the question comes down to screen size and s-pen. If you want a larger screen and/or S-Pen, stick with the Note series. If you prefer a 5" screen and aren't interested in S-Pen features, then the S6 might be the better device.
Tough to say what the Note 5 will bring. If it continues to to have things like a micro SD card or removable battery, that may also factor in as well but nobody knows yet.
Well, like every year the Note 5 will have the better overall specs. Question is whether you want to wait 6 months for it or not?

I'd say go for the S6 if you are on a last gen phone from 2014 (so anything earlier than Note 4). Otherwise I'd suggest waiting for the Note 5. The S6 is shaping up to be pretty darn good, and I can assure you the VR capabilities are going to be great (just like they are on the Note 4).
Besides the lack of sd slot and removable battery id take the note just cause the s6 screen is so tiny lol

Seeing the gorgeous job they've done with materials here, I'm sticking with the Note 5 and looking for design sans the changes to Card and Battery. Size and stylus win.
Fingers crossed.

S6.
I hate tablets, phablets, and other things generally ending with "ablet" haha.
Depends on what you want? Personally I absolutely adore my Note 4 it's a productivity beast. So no doubt in my mind that the Note 5 will be one too.
If you value:
- s pen functionality (it's like a small mouse)
- top of the top specs
- removable batteries
- expendable storage
And maybe the first 4k display I'd say wait for the Note. Also I hope Samsung's new philosophy doesn't make it to the Note series because a closed down device isn't a productivity one.
If you want a smaller form factor with limited storage space, questionable development support but top specs try the s6 and see if you like it.
Hopefully Samsung doesn't follow suit with the S6 and downgrade the Note 5. I'm still rockin' my Note 2 at the moment, but if the Note 5 downgrades to 1990's technology with no expandable storage, I'll seek a more appropriate brand.
Two different phones targeting two different demographics. Besides which, I don't know how many people "upgrade" their phones twice a year. Go with the consideration of screen size + S-pen usage as others have suggested. The two are not very comparable in my opinion.

But Samsung seems to have run out of steam and have opted to downgrade their phones and no longer pursue technological advancements. I fear the Note 5 may end up losing the stylus, drop down to a 3" non-touchscreen running a fancy Android iOS.
Note 5 brings 8 MP front camera.. already samsung started of its mass production..

If you consider the S6 a downgrade over the S5, then you might want to reevaluate your expectations. Being overly dramatic doesn't really add to the discussion.

It's a serious downgrade in functionality. Samsung for some reason has become blazingly desperate to be just like Apple now. It's too bad that they feel that if they can't beat the competition, then to join them.

I would agree with them pushing to be more apple like...taking away 2 key features on a device and jacking up the price to boot is totally apple lol.
Offer less...charge more. And the masses are so stupid they wont think anything of it sadly.apples doesn't have great sales because the public is intelligent.

It sounds like everyone should take a couple of deep breaths and calm down!
As I recall, laptops don't come with cd roms anymore, not only that, but someone told me, hold on to your seats, desktops no longer come with 3.5 inch floppy drives! No kidding, I'm totally serious!

Your references to laptops and PC's doesn't make any sense. Those references are removing obsolete storage mediums and replaced with new high capacity ones. And PCs and laptops are fully expandable. A more suitable comparison would be if Nasa were to replace launch rockets with a paper airplane. That's what Samsung has done.

I think I can fix that for you! You almost understand, removing obsolete storage mediums and replaced with new high SPEED ones! There you've got it! In addition to slow, SD cards are a huge security issue, and somewhat incompatible with Android. I always bought Samsung SD cards before for my phone, I'll be happy to pay (extra) for sweet, high speed, internal, DDR4 RAM!!
SD cards are obsolete for these phones!
Hello, everybody. Thank you for reading this.
My MHL-Cable worked perfectly before.
Now, the Note 3 says, that it detected the HDMI Cable. But the TV does receive no signal.
I already tried to make it run on multiple TV's. Before, all TV'S recieved a signal. Now not anymore.
The cable belongs to my little brother and he is going to kill me, if he recognised anything
But i know, what possibly caused the problem. I tried to connect the cable with the god -damn Galaxy S6, which is Samsungs ProjectZero Phone , where They have even removed MHL-Support! !!!!
I did put the cable into the S6. From that Moment, it possibly stopped working properly.
Now, my SGN3 still says "HDMI Cable connected"but the Tv stays silent.
Do you think that it is the fault of the S6? How cani fix it?

Yes, the S6 is a Cr^pPhone.
The Processing Performance, Screen and Graphics Card is OK, but now, Samsung has nothing, which is really highly special.
Special things about phones:
Waterproofness (Xperia and S5)
USB 3.0 (Note 3 and S5)
Temperature Sensor (Sony and S4+Note 3)
S-Pen (Note-Smartphones)
Good User Interface and Many Features (Note 2 and Note 3)
AirTouch, AirView, TSP-Hovering (S4 and Note 3)
Many useful gimmicks (S4 and Note 3)
Replacable Battery (Samsung. Sure, Samsung has replacable battery. That was for sure, until the S6 came) (Now LG (G3+G4) is the only one with Replacable Battery.
Humidity Sensor
Options Key (is now sacrificed.)
MicroSD (Now HTC, Sony, LG. But not Samsung.)
...and they have even removed more! (MHL etc...)
At least it has Pulse and Fingerprint scan and USB-OTG.
Here is the S6 Disappointed Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/disappointed-s6-list-reasons-t3044369
It was a pleasure reading your comments, and it's a lot of sense in them.
Humidity sensor is also present in note 3, alongside with temp sensor. And don't forget about FM radio which they also stripped! I've missed that since my note 2 (i've owned note 2, 3 and now 4)
Yes, you're right, and I'm really pissed; the best overall experience I had was with my beloved note 2, a really excellent performer. Note 3 was a no go because of its sh#tty pics in low light.
Note 4 has good camera with ois, finally. But... is sadly missing many features from note 2 and 3, as you said. The spen is the only thing specifically to Samsung that's still there, and if ever another manufacturer picks the idea up and makes a mother of all phones WITH something similar to spen, I'll be the first to buy it.

Thank you very much for your answer. I really appreciate it.
Take a look at the LG G4. I hope the Note 5, not to be a note zero. I hope it, to have the old Galaxy logo again, not the new uglier one from the S6.
Actually, if you turn Intelligent Stabilisation on, and hold very steady, then your low light photos with the Note 3 will be much better. The Note 2's low light performance is also not the best.
But you're 1000% right. I really miss OIS on the Note 3. Also 1440p Video Recording is something that i miss. (Saves Space in comparisson to 4K, but is better than FullHD.)
I wish, that there would be one phone, which really has ALL features. ALL features from the older ones, not missing a single one.
If more features cost more space, why the hell don't they make phones with bigger space storages?
Also: S6 has finally slow motion, how i described it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/slow-motion-phones-device-how-to-imo-t2998500 - they have done that TOO LATE! (After pj.0 started.)
Project Zero means:
Zero Features
Zero Reputation
Zero Flexibility
Another thing: The Note 2 had such a beautiful waterful natural user interface. The S6 user interface is horribly ugly.
MHL was there since S2 GT-i9100 and Note N7000. Nobody would expect it to be removed, as it was very, very useful.
Advantages of MicroSD in comparison to USB-OTG are:
Does not reserve the charging port (but there's still wireless charging as alternative, but that's not very fast.)
It's inside of the device and does not affect the flexibility.
Myself, i could live with a Note 4, but i really prefer the Note 3, which has many more software features and sensors. And a much frendlier, lively User Interface.
But i miss Radio on my Note 3. I hope the Note 5, to be able to use the Radio without needing a headset.
The S6 destroyed my MHL-Cable. Twelve meters. Expensive.
I was shocked, when i saw this page the first time: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s6-6849.php - Samsung moved to the dark side. Horrible.
Also take a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/thickness-phone-to-batter-battery-life-t3133035
The S6 is thinner. Better? No, but thinner.
But flexibility and features are much more important than design. Theoretically, it is also possible, to have a good design in combination to the S6-Design. Isn't it?
Let's hope Samsung, to cancel project cr^p.

everyone's happy. The 'E' version could be slightly thicker than the

im hoping Samsung fixes this with future handsets, waiting for the note
5 will be a gamble, for me as its months away and will come with yet
another hefty pricetag. even if they add the microSDcard support they
would also need to go back to Qualcomm chipset, that alone for both
things to happen will be a gamble and the odds not looking good. im
seriously considering xiaomi note pro or a xiaomi product at this point,
xiaomi is up and coming, once it hits the states it will be up there in
known brands, Hugo Barra (former vice president of GOOGLE, yes he helped
Google big time get where there are) is now in charge of Xiaomi and
Xiaomi is not disappointing. Just wish Xiaomi would incorporate the

My little brother
This cable originally belongs to my little brother.
It was very expensive. The S6 is really a big zero.
Because IF my little brother finds out anything,
he'll crossify me.
Thank you very much, S6.
I will die in the hospital due to ProjectZero.
For everybody, who understand the German language:
Das S6 ist ein unfähiges missgeburt-Handy. Samsungs größter "Ausrutscher", viel mehr ein Unfall.
Das S6 ist eine elende Schande für Samsung mit samt aller Fans.
I simply can't believe that the S6 ruined the MHL-Cable!
Business?
The Note-Smartphone must stay a BUISNESS-Smartphone with USB 3.0 and the other things.
An S6-Like Note 5 is not good for buisness anymore. No Temperature sensor and many things from the Note 3 are missing too!
MHL was also good for Business. The Note 5 will also destroy your MHL, if they use the same losercharger port like the S6. Well, fast charging is good. But MHL is better sometimes.
After having this for 2 days now I thought I would post this :
As a Person who has owned every Note device as my daily phone, I thought I would write an Abbreviated 1st impressions, thoughts and review of the New Note 5
First impressions, tend to set opinions before fact……. That said, Samsung did a very nice job on the design and build. It is beautiful to look at… it has a luxury feel and interacting with the device is definitely satisfying.
My only concern is the glass back. That seems to pose a potential break hazard .
The non removable battery and no External SD Card……. Yeah I feel ya, I didn’t like that idea either, but TBH I only used the SD Card for archiving files and a few other things, most of what I use only demands about 10 gigs of space, so it is not a big issue. That coupled with the fact I been using the SanDisk 64 gig mini flash (it has both a micro USB and normal USB that slides). That has been much more useful for me.
There are ways to work around the integrated battery, and ways to mimic pulling the battery ….. so this hasn’t been to much a concern either.
Credit to Mocsab for posting the shutdown methods:
1) just hold power until phone turns off - then restart
2) Hold power, home and volume up - Samsung logo appears - continue to hold - Samsung logo goes black and capacitive buttons flash three times - release - phone goes to recovery - then choose option - reboot or whatever
3) Hold power, volume down and home, when screen goes dark, switch to volume up, power and home - wait until Samsung logo appears - continue holding - when screen goes dark or when capacitive buttons at bottom of phone flash three times release - it goes into recovery - then you can reboot -
Only on the Note 1, did I actually buy a 2nd battery. So, unless you are gaming on this device ….. this battery is plenty
Surprises :
This morning started charging right before taking a 10-15min shower and the was @ 27% battery, got out 10-15 min later was @ 67% ……. THAT is Impressive.
The Camera is actually better performing than the S6, (the software), this camera is finally getting good enough to take decent pixs that even a person like myself who has High end camera equipment can really appreciate the quality.
Another Surprise ……. Its physical size is smaller than the note 4, 3 or 2, it is about the same size as a 5.3-5.5 phone (see attached pixs of a Meizu M1 vs. the Note 5). This fits into my pocket where the Note 4 it was super tight to get in and out.
There are so many little tweaks to mention.... that in the past, I would either have to download or modify, Samsung has taken the time to pre-install these so the customization is more native. This is Samsung commandeering the Dev's and Modders improvements (probably from the XDA members- ) and inserting them directly into the stock experience.
Everything else is all similar to the note 4 with Noticeable improvements. This phone finally gets the S-Pen working in such a way that you will use it without hesitation. They REALLY …… made the S-Pen desirable to use, especially with the instant note taking without opening up the phone…… this is Way useful……
My recommendation is this; if you do not have the Note 4 and want a Note, I would Highly Recommend this device. If, you do not think you will ever use the S-Pen, then get the S-6 or the other iterations of that device. But, if you like the features all the previous Note devices had to offer, this is an interaction delight all codified as the new Note 5.
This is the best Business device out there 2nd to none …and possibly the best device period……. Those are my 1st impressions …….. thanks for reading……….
P.S. The Last Pixs is the Vibrant, S6, Meizu M1 and Note 5 side by side ..... Yes, I still have my 1st Galaxy phone ....running Lollipop....:fingers-crossed:

Yes...The Vibrant was my 2nd Android device... I had the Dream 1st ......then the HD2.... then the Vibrant, Wow That launched so many into the Android world Cyanogen, Aokp, and others Got their teeth cut on that phone and the rest is History ........... it was and still is alot fun to dev on.........
No, I did not .....I did notice that there is less light leak than my note 4 showed. Once I have it rooted, I ll be able to adjust the lighting and optimize it so that would not occur. My guess if someone experiences that is, a bit of insufficient grounding when the light is maxing out resulting it to waiver from max demand to some safety default. Just a guess though. Adding a slight blue to the white sometimes will provide a better optical white without that demand, but until we get root, look under the hood, and toy with it ......... no way to know for sure.

Whats up warrior[emoji2] i was like you on the fence because of the battery. Ive had a spare battery for every note since note 2 and loved the option of just switching it out opposed to waiting for a charge. A couple months ago i bought the Anker 24,000 since i have 3 kids with Samsung phones that game all day so im covered there and like oka i was shocked at how fast this phone charges. Really amazing. I set it down to charge, ate lunch and it was at 80% from 4. I think youll be fine especially once we get some rom and kernel development.
@sshafranko-Long time no speak bro!! Hope all is well.
I saw your post in the battery thread, you had incredible battery life. I'm definitely leaning more towards getting this device than not. Before I knew what the deal was, I was going to get it... But as I saw the horror stories, no removable battery and SD card gone, I said no.
Have to change with the times though... I don't think those things matter as much as they once did. I really do prefer having spare batteries, have had 3 for each of my last 4 phones...with the super fast charging, it won't matter much.
Last concern will be development. I'm sure it will be super slow with this device. Note 4 is much less developed than the 3...

Yea i agree with the dev statement but i think that is because the n3 was such a great phone imo prob the best note i ever owned, and the upgrade to n4 wasnt warranted for most people so they stuck it out with the n3 waiting for the 5. I think a lot of people will be on the fence like you because of the battery and storage situation but as time goes by and you hear all the good things about the phone youll dive right in. Not sure if there will be as much dev as the n3 but i think or at least i hope the most important ones will be here. All im looking for is Lean(Imoseyon) and Tweaked(Dwith). Unbeatable combo...keeping my fingers crossed
Dwith would be great to have for sure. There are a couple of good devs here already...so there is hope. I'm more than likely going to get the Note 5. I'll goto tmobile tomorrow. I'm getting more and more excited.

COMING FROM A GALAXY S6 EDGE, HERE IS MY LITTLE REVIEW NOTE 5 VS GS6 EDGE
Don't want to start an argument just a few things i notice, own both phones.
NOTE 5
much MUCH smoother faster touchwiz no lag/stutter (both factory reset and after same apps installed test)
does not heat up even when gaming. (not even warm)
battery life i get around 5:30-6hr SOT
Screen is about 30-40% brighter, white looks whiter ( i didn't believe until owning both device)
BOTH phone almost same spec but feel like 2 completly different phones. i hate how the edge touchwiz bug down, reload icons and widget, freeze when you are using heavy usage ram apps etc. If you guys can get a hold of the GS6 edge plus rom which is already ported to the edge, try that and see if it fix the issues.
i think the problem is touch wiz (eat so much ram)cause even my note 5 usage at the end of the day is around 87%. (and this is with package disable pro, disabling about 120 background apps which i also used on my edge)
I actually wanted to try the NOTE 5 not for the reason mention above, just that i hate using cases and the Edge is to SHARP to hold for my liking, i was gonna buy the regular GS6 for this reason but since the note 5 was going to be release soon i waited. To my surprise i got much more than what i wanted.
probably will be selling the GS6 edge, right now im using has my daily driver the NOTE 5, love the S-pen make things much easier to screenshot, crop and share which i do often. taken notes when screen is off is so usefull.
Edit: Has of now the built quality has been excellent. No pinkish or color shift screen, no polish scratches in the screen, no lose buttons. The only thing i'm kind of disappointed is that i was expecting a louder speaker, The speaker IS THE SAME has the GS6 edge..... is loud but i would figure with a larger device you would get a larger speaker . I heard the fingerprint scanner is more accurate but i havent try it yet. It seems that ALL NOTE 5 are coming with the SONY LENS CAMERA SENSOR. unlike the GS6 which it was a hit or miss.
Just find out that the IR blaster was stripped therefore can not use the note 5 as a remote control. Samsung and Peel have been working together since the s4, I don't know why in the world that feature too was taken off.
Is there theme store support?

Theme support is now part of Toucchwiz...will you use the themes? Thats another story.
For a lady such as myself, I wont mind them...but even I find some of them way too damn cute I just want to gauge my eyes out.
If I ever get a Touchwiz again, I am hopiing there will be better themes out by than

I've been using the themes and I Love it. My Wife is running CM On her S5 and the Tw theme store is set up very similar to the CM theme Store. The main difference that I noticed is on the CM theme set up you can pick what part of the Phone you want themed. For e xample you can theme the icons and not the Keyboard. on the new TW theme setup you can't pick what parts to theme it just themes it all or whatever is included in the theme. Who knows the theme devs may Like this setup and we may have a huge selection to piKK from. Well I hope anyway. ALSO its awesome not to have to flash anything, it takes a few seconds to apply a theme. I've been switching between Material dark and Light. Anyway I personaly Love it . Wrote this post with my spen so sry for the grammar errors. ALSO all this can be done 'without root. I think its delicious Like the ribeye I just ate.[emoji2]

CM theme is one of the view decent ones there lol
95% needs work. I'm patiently waiting out for them to open the theme development to more users who play around on XDA, like the themer of the CM theme.
That way I will have choices that are not so cartoonish or just simply bad.
Hi all,
I currently have the Note 2 and ready to pull the trigger on a new Note. The trick is, I honestly can't decide between the 4 or 5. I've read all of the other 4 vs 5 threads and I'm so conflicted about the loss of the SD Card/Battery swap option. - I want to hear from real life experiences!
On other sites, the Pro Note 5 users say that the Note 5 is "just better". So can anyone here tell me why? is it really that much faster - or is it simply a clean phone and will slow down once it gets filled up??
In an effort to not turn this into just another 4 vs 5 thread I ask that you only respond if you have used both phones and your honest 1st hand opinion on the 5.
Thanks!
Richard
It really has more to do with your needs. If you don't need more than 64 GB on the phone and can use cloud for every thing else. And if you are willing to carry a small back up battery for those days when you can't give it a bump charge. I would go for the 5.

I owned both the Note 4 retail and developer edition and can say I like the Note 5 more hands down. It runs much smoother, has a far better camera, speaker and spen plus you can theme it with the theme app built in. I would rather it not had the glass back but it's well protected with the Otterbox commuter I have. For me the lack of a ExtSD and removable battery isn't issue. I have the 64 gig model and have 32 gigs left without any need for cloud storage. I'm not a power user so the battery lasts me about 4 days on average witch is far more than the Note 4 did. The newest update on the Note 4 is terrible for the battery. My wife still has the Note 4 and thankfully I did a safe upgrade so I could revert to KitKat if needed. Sad to say I had to revert back because of battery issues. Having root wasn't very exciting with the developer edition I had so that's no big loss to me. For ad blocking I'm using Adblock browser that works well. I would have to say it comes down to storage and being able to update without worry between the two. I hope this helps.
I only give dishonest opinions, so I should probably bow out of this... ?
I had both phones. Like both of them. I don't find the note 5 that much better, but I do think it is better. Removable battery and SD card aren't important to me.

I am, without a doubt, happy with my Note 5. After a few weeks of the new device, I tried my Note 4 again, and it felt ancient and unreliable. It's the first device I've owned where I don't feel the need to hack it due to instability or lag. The screen is fantastic, the performance is great, the S-Pen is keen, it's Android..., and it's just better. Lol. It feels great in the hands, too. I didn't think I was going to like it, and was super pissed off about the lack of a removable battery and making my 128Gb MSD card obsolete, but it was quickly made up for. It also gave me a reason to use some of the 100-some blank discs I've had laying around collecting dust as I've been using Bluetooth with the N4. No regrets.
I really like my Note 5. The thing I miss about the Note 4 are the smart select using the s-pen and the s-pen was easier to take out.

I have had a note 5 and still have a note 4. The note 4 has sdcard slot and removable battery and ir blaster but the note 5 is better in every way but those things imo. I may buy another note 5 64 gb to try again and see if i can live without sdcard and removable battery!
Thanks to all for the feedback. I'm ordering the Note 5 tonight!

Nice, I don't think you will have any regrets. It's one of the best phones I've had in a while.
The spen and spen apps felt better and more user friendly on the Note 4. Everything spen related feels stripped and slightly dumbed down on the Note 5. It really just feels like a big phone with a stylus now instead of a "Note". That said, I like it..but I'm not in love with it.
The themes in the theme store are garbage too. Don't be swayed by thay
Never had a Note 4 but I'm happy with the Note 5. It's the first phone I've had that I can't root though. Between the exclusive features TouchWiz has, and discovering non-root alternatives for some of my needs I can live with it.
With that said, once I'm ready to upgrade again I may hold out for something in the big screen market that can be rooted. I really miss the bigger screen and better speakers of the HTC One MAX, but everything else is better on the Note 5.
Does note 5 have the ability to wifi tether?
I believe some users are using an app called Foxfi
Had the note 4 and the note 5 is better imo. Faster, feels more premium, love the bottom speaker. Battery life is fine for me can't remember the note 4 battery life but it's at least the same, 32gb is fine for me so those two are off the table.
Definitely better than the 4 with Verizon. VZW Note 4 was a disaster especially if you upgraded to L.
The only thing I think was crazy was SEC omitting the IR blaster. It's on the S6 and worked extremely well.
The glass back is fragile so you do need to wrap it up with a protective case unless you're the type that never drops anything.
The biggest thing with both the Note 5 and Edge+ is the camera. Manual mode especially. Best camera I've used in any smartphone, period. And I have a G4 and iPhone 6s+. Neither of those can touch the Note 5's camera.
The S pen is also noticeably improved. TBH, I've had every Note since the first and I've never really used the S-pen. On the Note 5 I'm using it a LOT more. I like the functionality of pulling out the pen and being able to draw notation instantly on whatever's on the screen. That's a winner right there if you're into sports like football!
Battery life is great and being it's themeable and ad guard works as good as ad-away I'm dealing OK without root. Even with stock TW this thing is blazing fast. With the hardware, it should be!

i disagree the theme store is sweet. the material dark is awesome and gives the phone a whole new look that you cant do on the note 4. now is the note 5 64 gb gonna be ok for me? IDK time will tell
Edit: Once i loaded my like 30 gb of photos from note 4 to note 5 the 5 didnt feel as fast anymore and neither were benchmarks. might be a better phone but that sdcard slot and removable battery wins again for me! Note 4 FTW
I have had both and I do like the 5 better. I was an early adopter of wireless charging and have struggled to make wireless charging work on phones like the Note 4, the Note 5 wireless charging is excellent. The out of the box battery life seems better with the Note 5, at least from my memory of the note 4. I am OK with 64gb so I found I didn't mind that I couldn't add to it. The overall performance is smoother, the fingerprint scanner is WAY better. I lost the Note 5 stylus on day one which was annoying... I must have tapped it to make it pop out and I never did find it. I think you can't go wrong either way but I was extremely frustrated with the Note 4 fingerprint scanner when I had it so if that is important to you the Note 5 is the way to go.
Hey guys,
I just bought myself a Note 4 from my local T-Mo shop. I kept my Note 5, but will use it as a backup phone. I couldn't handle not having a removable battery, MicroSD slot, and IR Blaster.
Has anyone else made the upgrade from the Note 5 to the Note 4?
Has anyone considered making this upgrade?
The first thing I did when I got home with my new Note 4 was root, install TWRP and than flash TekHD's TEKXodus ROM. He makes amazing ROMs! I didn't even set up the stock ROM.
It's not the end of the world... there's always another way around. Removable battery? There's battery cases, and battery packs... I got a 10,000 mah battery pack along with a 5200 mah fast charge battery pack I got as a gift from samsung...
Microsd card slot? No problem! There's those micro usb storage sticks, (forgot what those were called.) Just plug it in to the charging port and you're good to go. After you've finished using it, attach it with your key chain.
IR blaster? Hm, I don't know any alternatives for that but is it really that big of a deal? You could always use the actual remote...
There is an IR blaster also which uses 3.5mm jack port and easily available for 3-4 bucks.
Sad man but you are entitled to your own opinion. Lets be honest though an upgrade it is not...
You have inspired me to turn in all my old cd's and ask for the cassette tapes.... :good:
Love this place!
I'd hardly call it an upgrade. Those are some features that I don't need.
TW on the note 5 was pretty dang smooth out of the box and I didn't need a custom rom this go around.

The note 5 is a much better device in many ways, but there are definitely still times when I miss my note 4. I still have a buttload of cases and an extended battery for it that I don't know what to do with too. I kinda regret selling it and I'm thinking about picking another one up just as a backup phone.
Buyers remorse? It can make you do funny things like trying to make others believe your choice is right

Note 5. Tek's rom. Skyhigh kernel. There isn't a better phone or I'd have it.
It's nexus time if the note 6 has a locked bl. 6p isn't new enough.
We'll see.
Note 4 is too old, as well. Family member has mine.
