You could try turning off GPS and WiFi when not in use. That usually helps. Try an app called BetterBatteryStats. People in the thread for that app are usually pretty helpful in identifying battery drain issues. There is a little bit of a learning curve to using it though
Edit: Here is the main forum for that app

It might be that after a couple of days it gets back to normal. Could just be your phone recalibrating

Well first if it is out of the box JB don't upgrade to kitkat for now because it has many bugs and consumes more battery.
JIC its on KK then the only battery saving technique is to charge it from <5% to 100%, first charge should be 8hrs switched off.
Remember to switch on battery saver when required.
You can try snapdragon batteryguru app although i believe it doesnt make much difference
Else rules that apply with every phone are applicable like using 2G instead of 3G when not required etc.

Yes but the kitkat build for Moto G has some issues which consumes more battery. Moto is working on a fix for a all of the bugs that this build contains. It will come in the next few weeks.
Using safe mode,Customize screen with lowest bright, and turn off the apps that you don't need.I usually do this.
Hey guys. So after some time I had to come back to my one s and decided to flash some 5.0.2 goodness. Now that this is working I'm asking myself: How do you keep your One Sses responsive. Lolipop is a lot to handle for a phone that age, but it lags so much, im considering going back a fev steps. Do you have any tricks to run Lollipop fast and still not drain the battery like crazy?
Thanks in advance!

Lollipop doesn't drain the battery more or less than previous versions of android...
Which rom / kernel do you actually use? Have you checked your battery stats which app needs most energy? May be gapps are buggy.

Hey there, moin moin nach Lübeck.
I currently use ressurection remix 5.4.1. Kernel…*i dont really know actually. The problem isnt the battery really though but the massive lags I experience after a few days after rom installation.
I have experienced nothing but terrible battery life on note 5 sprint,
it is rooted greenify installed also custom kernel is installed skyhigh tw 4
I am also always on UMTS which gives me 3g since is unlocked and used in Europe (which should be more power efficient than lte)
Baterry is nothing but awful gives me almost same time like my nexus 5 somewhat 8h with moderate use not gaming editing photos or video recording
also sync is off nfc off location off auto brightness
if anyone can instruct me or help me with this issue please do
thanks

Have you tried installing BetterBatteryStats to check on any apps that may be hogging your battery?
I run the SkyHigh kernel and after some tweaks have been pretty happy with battery life.

If it is doing the same on another kernel, then it must be something going on with an app that is hogging battery or poor signal quality.

Hey,making this thread so we can share reviews, bugs and opininions about those 2 roms(the only ones running Nougat so far)
It would be nice to have a guide about it i guess..
In my case AICP is smoother.
Sent from my Mi 4c using Tapatalk
Any known bugs?I mean we have a thread about rr and we know bugs performance etc.But what about aicp. What do you mean smoother
What about lineage os? We have lineage os from website and hikari no tenshi builds also
I installed aicp yesterday(clean install). So far everything perfecr.Got rid of the delayed notifications I had problem with the last rr build. Also I dont have problems with the unlock screen bug.Other than that its same like rr. Very smooth and all working great. Battery seems very good until now....
After 1 hour and 40 minutes screen on,just wifi,2g signal and using viber frequently
@op I think this is not suited for xda (comparing other devs works is against the forum rule afaik) and also not suited on android development sub forum, @mods @zelendel / @jackeagle kindly look into this. thanks in advance, no offence.

Every nougat rom has the same problem for me. Every reboot the battery percentage drops by a huge amount and displays wrong percentage. Battery calibration didn't work

Same here. Tried RR and my phone shuts down when I have about 30% battery left. When I plug it in for a minute, it says I have 25%+ battery left. But when I unplug the charger the phone shuts down again even if I have more than 20% of battery left. Weird.

To be fair, I have not tested AICP yet. But the said behavior doesn't happen on MIUI (even in MIUI Nougat) and on TS CM 13.1. I'm gonna give it a chance and try RR again later. I'm starting to hate MIUI's aggressive task management. Just browsing with 6 tabs in Chrome with no other open apps and MIUI force closes the app WTF.

Does it always happen with Nougat ROM only? Once I've read a quite interesting "theory", might be connected to this https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/5kr71d/why_phones_are_shutting_down_with_40_battery_left/

This issue never happen when i use TS CM 13.
Tried the latest RR build, phone shuts down at 15% battery. Was able to reboot to recovery and TWRP reports that I have 15% battery left. Tried to reboot the device and I was still able to get to the boot animation screen but the phone automatically shuts down again and this time, I was no longer able to power it on. It's like the battery was drained to the last drop.
Now here comes the weird part, I've plugged it in and the phone booted automatically. Right off the bat, the big battery bar showed up with 0% left and after a few ticks (about 3 seconds), the battery skyrocketed to 47%!! Wtf? I turned it on and when android booted, the battery was just 17%. Something's wrong and I don't know if it's the rom or the battery itself. I'm gonna try AICP and see if I get different results
EDIT: Rebooted again at 17% and now I have 47% of battery left again. Lol this is confusing.

Why media scanning takes up so much battery?
Do i do something wrong?
Also on idle, without opening any app, cpu temperature sits at 55-59 Celsius!
I bought this phone for its praised battery, but i cant pass 3:30 hours screen on time!!
Should i downgrade to kitkat?
If the battery life is better,im willing to do so.
It's a known issue.
Android 5.1.1 firmware .264 has a better battery life indeed.
