Easiest way to access my photos/videos to transfer to PC? [non-root] - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I stopped bothering with rooting and all that since I got my N5 and never had problems. But after some update (not sure which), I can't find my photos/videos folder on my phone when connected on my PC. My phone is low on storage now and I really need to transfer files to free up space.
I don't want to go through all the trouble of installing adb/fastboot/rooting/etc/etc just so I can transfer some videos.
Thanks in advance.

Use Google photos app to back them all up then just delete the device copy

[Q] Uninstalled gallery app! :/

Hello guys! I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 rooted device and have a problem! I'm using Titanium Backup to backup all apps and datas and a week ago my Gallery app started crashing and/or blocking, blocking the whole device and I couldn't get why...it was really boring and i trying something i shouldn't have had to...I uninstalled the gallery app with titanium backup as I thought i could reinstall it from the backup, but now it's not possible to recover it anymore!
I've even tried to do a factory reset, but it didn't work either!
Can someone help me please!? I don't have a gallery app anymore!
Plus, I have problems writing on the memory card on my s3 and don't know why..i can't copy files from pc to mobile sd, like if it was blocked from writing...anyone?
for your gallery problem:
download quickpic.
its a million times better than the normal gallery. if you see the advantages of qucikpic you will never miss the normal gallery.
for your memory card:
try to plug it into the pc. maybe via an adapter.
if the problem is not there via directly plugged into the pc then tell me and i look into it further
if the problem is also there via plugged in:
maybe try to copy all data from SD to PC and format the SD card.

thank you for answering..I've tried quickpic and it is good, it's true..but what bothers me is that all the incorporated links in the apps to the gallery are missing, like for example the link in the camera app to the gallery to check the pic you've just taken is missing...

[Q] HTC Titan WP 7.8 - how to recover photos after hard reset?

Hi guys,
I accidentally did factory reset too soon, while some photos were still on my phone and not synchronized with cloud. As I would really like to recover those photos I am looking for a way to recover images.
I have HTC Titan with Windows 7.8. I did a little registry trick so I can see no mobile phone internal storage as mass storage device in My Computer. I cannot see applications on the disc but I can see photos so I still have a little hope that with use of Recovery program I would be able to find deleted pictures (even though file system is TFAT).
But the thing is that there is no SD card in this phone so all photos were saved on internal disk of phone. So even though I can see mobile phone and its storage in My Computer, all the recovery programs doesn't give me choice to choose it (as they don't recognize mobile phone as mass storage device).
Now I wonder next things:
- is there any software which can recover photos from internal memory of phone
- is there any way to completely copy internal storage of phone to the hard drive (including deleted files, free space, etc.)
- is there any way to emulate mobile phone internal storage as the real mass storage device.
I will be very grateful for every answer i receive!
Thank you!

Just lost 200 photos from some cloud crap

What the hell is this cloud crap on my S7
i like my files to be either on my my memory card or on internal storage. plugged in USB cable to get pics off my phone and nothing was there, all my folders were empty
so some webpage says disable cloud, and now all my pics are gone completely what the hell!
then i tried to free up my memory card and moved a 2GB music files folder to internal storage and now theyre all hidden or disappeared
what the hell
and i cant delete folder off my internal storage now
my whole routines are now sickened and ive lost data
is there anyway to restore deleted pics off this cloud thing
S7 Nougat
I hate that. I know Verizon Cloud will do that and Google Photos as well. There may be copies there so you might still be able to access them. You should be able to switch off that functionality so it doesn't happen again. Sorry I don't have more specific instructions.

[Q] how to restore from internal storage?

when iwas trying to backup my internal storage (about 54gb), i got error saying something i/o error. and then...i lost 44gb of data. that is all of my pictures and video's.
i have tried fonepaw android data recovery, without succes. because fonepaw doesn't work with magisk (my SU-app, root-app).
tried SuperSU, also no succes with fonepaw.
any idea how to restore my pictures, videos. i didn't delete them.
weird part is that the rest of my device is working OK. my apps work ok, but for example pictures of whatsapp are also lost, but not the chat history. also viber chat history is OK.
offline saved pages in opera (internet browser) are also OK.
so, ant idea how to get my DCIM-map back or restore?
thanks in advance
Did you maybe back up your photos automatically via Google Photos?
Have you tried accessing your internal storage via USB?

no google drive. or any google backup
yes, connected to usb and i saw 44gb free space while my storage was full at 54,4gb.
but now i have tried wondaershare dr.fon. and much better result then fonepaw.
dr.fon recognizes my magisk-root methode. but it cann't do deep scan. that is for me good enough.
now going through 32981 files

Any way to mount NAS network share as internal storage?

Hi everyone,
i recently bought a used Google Pixel for the unlimited photo storage. All my photos are usually saved on a FreeNAS network share using Samba / SMB. For now i am using Syncthing but that copies everything to the phone until it's full and has to pause but i'm a little concerned that filling and deleting the storage many times over will cause damage over time - and i would like to keep the pixel alive for as long as possible - decades at best.
So is there any way to mount an SMB share as internal storage within say the Downloads folder so that the Google Photos app can see that and upload directly?
I would really appreciate any help with this if anyone has any idea.
Best regards!
EDIT: I am currently on stock ROM Android 10 - not rooted. If root is required and Google Photos then still benefits from unlimited uploads, i would do that as well.
