We have about a thousand of em. Not to mention the Nook, a dedicated eink ebook reader running Android.
3. Runkeeper
Jogging/Running/Walking app. Supplants the Nike+ Great app. Ours is better

Looks great, location aware, mulitasks
4. Email & Walk
Really cool app actually. Lays SMS over camera

Native dropbox app. Self-Explanitory
Android app- Sugarsync
Just use it until Dropbox gets on their own app.
6. Cardstar
Uses your reward cards and brings them all together. Nifty.
Android app- Keyring
Autofocusing android cameras make ours much simpler. Easy to use and stable.
7. Skype
Self-explanitory
Android app- printout a search of "voip" on the market. Nail it to a wall, and throw a dart at it. Install that app and you've got integrated Voip.
8. Dragon Dictation
dicates text-to-speech
Android app- *crickets* We have the function of text-to-speech, but dictation? Google search yields nothing. Handscent uses speech recognition though.
9. Epicurious
Recipes, etc.
Android app- We've got recipe apps. I'll probably never use em, but we got em!
10. gCalwalllite
Displays calendar and time info on the wallpaper
Android app- Widgets.
The final two are Push notifications and tethering. We do that easily enough, push better and tethering worse simply because we have to root to do it.

Actually there is a Skype beta app in the app-store now.
The PDA Net app allows USB and wireless tethering with out rooting your phone.
I would also put MyTracks + Twidroid integration up against any of their running/walking/hiking apps.
there used to be a text to speech notepad, i doubt its gone....

The Nexus fw supports speech-to-text.
have a look at the engadget review, there's a video of it.
Handcent already incorporates google speech recognition software for Speech-to-Text SMS so you can respond to a text while driving. What else would dictation be good for? From what I read, Dragon is a speech to text notepad that you then have to cut and paste into the app you're using. Pain in the ass compared to Handcent!
Ok i have used 'Pair' and like the premise but think an app could be created that is MUCH better. I do not have the skills, just the ideas..
The app, which i have tenatively named "Just Us" would be designed for couples to keep in touch, share informationo and manage their time. It would include the following.
Built in private messaging
Basic text funtions
emoji
sharing pictures (from gallery or capture)
voice notes
Productivity
Calendar (posibly tied into the system calendar)
alarms/reminders
ToDo list(s)
check-ins ('Made it home', 'Goint to lunch', 'working late', gps map location, etc...)
Games
Tic-tac-toe
revirsi
cards
other simple fun stuff (checkers etc) could be add in that connect to other apps (downloadable/partners/etc)
Security
Pin/pattern to open app
maybe encryption for downloads folder
posibly propriatary image format even if just ziped with alternate extention (you know why)
Now the Pair app has a Thunbkiss feature so that if both users are in the app at the same time they can "touch" thumbs through the scree and the phone vibrates. This is very cute but there is no alert to let the other user know their mate is waiting for a kiss.
I believe that the app has a market if done right and i would love to be involved with the development and testing. I want to learn but i need someone who knows what they are doing.

Have tried it.
Didn't like the fact that the drawer for minilauncher blocked the buttons so deleted. Also I must admit I found the t9 input of messenger was just as good.

In modern life, our phone has lot's of contact. And a single contact has different kind of numbers (whatsapp, facebook, viber etc). Lot's of data, so searching is a good way. Traditional keyboard has lot's of keys in scattered way. New or elder users find it difficult to look for a key in lots of keys.
Solution:
User uses fewer apps, so we will show a few.
And 9 keys in a keyboard to search.
