Hello xda,
I was wondering if I could just replace the system lockscreen apk with the lollipop (or even marshmallow) AOSP one?
Will this cause any incompatibility with the settings, or even worse?
Have some people already tried? if no I'm just going to make a nandroid backup and see if it works. And then post it here.
I ask it here because I could not find any thread about this, although quite some Google searches are being made about this.

Ive been lurking around the forum for a bit and noticed their is little development on our phones.
I want to see if I can help. I come from a Iphone so android is somewhat new.
My question is:
When building a custom Rom are you essentially just taking a stock build of the rom and decompiling things like settings.apk and framework-res.apk, modifiying pictures and code and recompiling?

The biggest issue is getting the source from Samsung, IIRC.
You only needed to do a search and read to answer your question.

There are several users looking for this lockscreen and would love it ported to there device!
Currently I am attempting to port it over to CyanogenMod7, for the DroidX specifically.
If devs/themers have any tips or would like to take over please get ahold of me!

If you have any previous experience in porting across manufacturers (htc-motorala) please post things you ran into here.
Such as converting certain files, necessary modifications, etc...

I am curious if there are any guides or threads to create a custom rom and to make it more complicated on a Sensation 4G where they have Sense destroying the phone lol.
I am using a custom rom that I love Prime™ by thelegendarylegends and don't intend on leaving that though I would like to gain the skills to assist in furthering his development and just to gain the know how and experience with such processes.
As I would like to learn this I intend on also move into theme patches for the rom (which will most likely become almost universal themes) the themes would be for more then just google apps too as I want to re theme entire roms from the base.
(I understand that there is more involved then just changing png's and that .9's are able to be irritating)
Or is creating a custom rom at first based on see what you can remove while keeping the rom stable and replacing apk's with AOSP apk's again while trying to keep it stable...

Hey folks.
I thought I would pop a quick question and though this is a development thread, I apologize first if my post is a bit Off topic.
Basically, I would like to know if anyone had success trying to theme any apks on the Android L GPE. I'm having a nightmare and cannot manage to get any apk successfully pushed and showing up. Is as though nothing happens. I'm not sure if there is something that I need to do first such as edit the services.jar or something.

Firstly, I did search the forum for this mod, i thought I woud easily find but, failed when digging even deeper into the search.
I was wondering if its possible to add/extend the "ScreenOff Gestures" on the OPO like those bundled with the CM11S.
Am currently using the CM11s - 44S on my OPO, rooted and w/ latest TWRP Recovery.
If any developers going through this post by any chance, I would like to let you know, Am game with testing if needed.

I am into generating my own apps for this purpose but I need more info, as this is a kernel feature so OPO should work.
The question is what is different at coding time. if you know something let me know ill develope it as soon as possible.
I want this app/mod too
