Why would you want to do that? The ROMs for the OnePlus One are much more mature and feature-rich. I'd think going the other way would be preferable by far.

one more rom on the list

But just to get oxygen 2 is a great question. I think it's possible. Replacing kernel and a few other tweaks might already do The trick. I'm willing to try as soon as Oxygen 2.0 for oneplus x isavailable as flashable zip

[Completed] Oxygen OS (OnePlus One)

I currently have CM12.1 running on my OnePlus One device and I'm getting kinda bored of it. I was wondering if it is worth switching from CM to OnePlus's own OS?

Which emui/android version should I run ?

Hi
I just got myself this phone, I would like to know which software (android/emui) version is the best to run? In terms of minimum amount of lags/bugs, best battery management. I do not mind not having the lastest features as I only use my phone to call/text/browseinet/watch videos.
my phone version is the H60-L04V100R001C00B109SP01.
Thanks guys for your help.
Then I would not upgrade. The Android 4.4 the phone comes with is more likely your best option.

CM 11. If you don't know what that is or are unfamiliar with flashing custom ROMs, then just stay on whatever you are already using.

I know what cyanogenmod is but I don't like it, also I do not want to root or flash custom roms.
thanks for your advice tho
I'd say upgrade to the last KitKat ROM released for your model and stick to it maybe until Marshmallow stable becomes a thing. I wanted to downgrade to KitKat after getting Lollipop as in my opinion it was much better but just couldn't be bothered enough to actually downgrade to be honest.

Ok thanks, I'm atm on 4.4.2/emui 3.0.

Most stable, up to date and future proof ROM?

Which one is it? Most of the ROMs which have been posted here haven't got an Update for ages now, the only one which seems up to date is the Oreo one, however I am afraid that this ROM will be dead too soon (hopefully not) :/ I just hope that this ROM will be our savior and get us out of this misery aka EMUI.
I'm in the same situation. Most of the roms have some bugs and never get updated and others are just not stable enough to be used daily. I hope there will be at least one rom that is stable and that gets updated from time to time. Especially since Honor 8 won't get Android Oreo anymore.

crDroid is under testing for latest B401 blobs and the GPS reboot fix. I'll update it as soon as possible.

Never heard of crDroid before, can you tell what it is like? Is it a rom based on the B401 firmware? Whats the difference between the other ones? And in what kind is this firmware/rom better than teh other ones?

I'm new to the Honor 8 (and coming from the Nexus 6: ease of modding/availability of custom firmware etc., this totally sucks). But I'll tell you that generally the only "better" custom ROM is a more stable ROM: otherwise, it depends on user preference. Do you want a lot of customization options, or are you preferring a pared-down, bare-bones experience? That's what makes the difference.
The trouble with the H8 appears to be that 1) EMUI for the H8 just doesn't play very nicely with custom ROMs (and possibly even just rooting?); and 2) because of that, not many people who are interested in developing ROMs are taking on the task.
So I'd just get used to EMUI or take whatever ROM is most stable according to most--I have no idea personally what that is, but your options are going to probably be pretty limited (especially now that it looks like Huawei is shafting H8 owners by not releasing Oreo). I doubt you've got any room to be picky here: just shoot for stability.
As for crDroid specifically, it is one of many lines of ROMs (like Resurrection Remix) and is released in different variants for different phones. This one is based on Cyagenmod (and my guess is the Honor 8 one isn't official, but rather an unofficial variant, "based on" crDroid)--but you could've found that out by using Google (see here for starters).
The Honor 8 appears to be an especially difficult device to successfully mod, so if you're a beginner, I'd really think twice before taking on the task unless you can get some help. I'm fairly well-versed with modding, but I'm either going to return this phone or limit my tinkering to rooting.

Is there any way to install Custom ROMS after updating to EMUI9?

Hi everyone,
I got my p20 at release so I have the unlocked bootloader
After a few months of getting along with EMUI, the newest version (EMUI9) is just pissing me off with bugs and terrible performance.
I tried installing TWRP but it doesent work (cant touch any of the UI in twrp.)
In the Forum i read it has to do with EMUI9, so my question is:
Is there any way to get TWRP to work and install roms or do i have to wait for an TWRP update?
Just downgrade to emui 8, you have to do it through PC app. Just search for updates and there should be line to downgrade.
how to get unlocked bootloader code now ?

I know this reply is a bit late but anyway,
Openkirin released a build of Resurrection Remix 7.0.1 for EMUI 9 devices this week, and it looks like the P20 is on the supported list. GApps and stock Huawei camera are preinstalled. It might be your best bet for compatibility.
I was going to try it out myself but I haven't unlocked my bootloader yet (but have the code) and to be honest EMUI 9 is good enough for me as a daily driver, I can't find a good enough reason to flash.
EDIT 21/04/19: Unlocked my bootloader and installed RR 7 and touchscreen doesn't seem to be working on my phone. Same thing with Omnirom. Going back to stock for now. Devs on the Telegram support said to wait for the next build.

Yeah, but following this forum I have noticed that many users encounter problems like not working fingerprint scanner or hotspot on treble based ROMs.
Or maybe you can point on on some Android Oreo ROM working properly on P20? (Want Oreo because of Xposed, not sure if it is already ported to Pie)
Apearently software-wise Huawei is still as bad as it was 5 years ago (still remember and hate my Huawei G6), because when bought this phone (P20) hoped that at least it supports treble... sadly - just partially

Me too haha.
You could try it yourself if you really wanted to, it seems to be a hit or miss whether people have this bug or not. A dev told me a few other P10s have the problem while his own P10 works fine. I haven't seen many P20 users though.

Are custom ROMs needed anymore?

Hi!
I'm an owner of an OnePlus 7. I upgraded to Android 10 a while ago and the new OxygenOS looks and feels amazing.
But I also wonder if a custom ROM is still needed or preferred over OxygenOS?

Yeah... I'm still for having custom roms... OnePlus right now offers bimonthly updates, so people who want to run the very latest version of Android have to use custom roms.. also OnePlus may not have some features which users who are coming from a custom rom may miss..
