So recently got a galaxy s3 sgh- i747 AT&T phone 4.4.2 I use straight talk so I unlocked the s3 now data works no mms yet. Recently rooted but I'm still a noob an wanna get a new rom not sure how to go about starting the process? Upgrade everything I can but maintain decent battery life... im newly intrigued in becoming a programmer or something dev idn, but really wanna learn. Any an all help is very appreciated thanks

I'm not thre most technical of people but i would really like to upgrade my Galaxy to ICS.
What do i need to do to get it done as i read about different kernels and roms...what is it that i will need and what process do i have to follow to upgrade my phone. I already have my phone rooted.

Hi there, I am helping my girl upgrading her line. I am able to root and flash the ROM, but have no idea what phone she should get, then what ROM I should flash.
I have T-MO GS2 and I have flashed more ROMS than I can think of. For her, I don't mind doing all the work but need a phone to start and then a ROM. As I don't have Verizon, can you assist in pointing me in the right phone and ROM direction?
(As I would only flash her ROM every so often, I am honest and have not read all of the Verizon forums to educate myself on those phones, but would appreciate your personal preference)
hows it going i hope i am posting to the right place i have very new here to this site. i was actually just wondering, i have the US version T-mobile samsung galaxy s3 and i just rooted it yesterday and flashed cm9. my question though is can i flash "ParanoidAndroid ICS ROM" to the tmobile version. i have noticed on all the videos and posts with this rom it is all the international "i9300" if anyone can answer me that would be awesome that rom looks awesome. i just wasn't sure because of the kernel and when i had my gs2 tmobile i accidentally flashed an international rom to that an totally bricked it. so just being careful this time. seeing how i bought this one outright. but like i said it would be much appreciated for a replay.. thanks ... Hi guys, I was wondering if there was any Telus 4.0.4 updates for the S2X and how would I install it. I am fairly new to this flashing and rooting stuff. I'm just afraid I may brick my phone and.. of course nobody would want that since that pretty much sucks.
I found some 4.0.4 ROMs or something for Koodo and T-Mobile S2Xs but I'm looking for one for my Telus phone and how would I install it. Just to be more brief, my phone is unlocked by the way.

I just rootet my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 running 4.1.2 Android from AT&T model i497.
Reading through many threads here I could not find a ROM to upgrade this to Kitkat 4.4.2. Is there an upgrade?
I should also point out that I would be totally OK using any ROM as this Tablet will not use any phone line from AT&T going forward. It will be mounted on the wall for Home Automation with just Wifi. So killing the AT&T crap software and giving me simple KitKat would be totally ok.
Any help guys here?

Doesn't look like anybody is working on this.
Let me phrase the question then differently. The I497 is from AT&T. The same or similar hardware is also provided by other phone companies or even better there are same or similar hardware versions out there without the mobile SIM card option going with simply WiFi.
Does anybody know which KitKat ROM I can install on my I497 to get it from Jellybean to KitKat even if that means I will have a Vanilla KitKat and also might loose my SIM card option? I just need WiFi on that tablet and that's it.
I am open for suggestions guys. Thanks.
