I rooted my alcatel ot 4033E and tried installing various roms for it and all the phone still worked fine and would boot to recovery mode but when I installed a specific rom which is the yandex kit rom I didn't really like because there were sound and vibration issues with it so I tried to boot into recovery mode manually using the volume up + power button but this is what happened:
boots up -> android logo -> animation -> black screen -> animation -> android is upgrading -> normal boot up
its like it totally skips the android recovery mode
I've tried to boot it into recovery mode by CWM but still didn't work
Has anyone experienced this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?
Please I really want to change my rom. It has been this way for many months already :crying::crying::crying:
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Did you try using the advanced power menu when being into Android?
You may want to ask your question in the friendly Android help thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2259645
Good luck.

Hold the Power button when being on your homescreen. You have to enable this feature on some custom roms (Tweak menus or Developer options).

I tried that now but this is all it says:
Power off
Restart
Screen Capture
Airplane Mode
Silent Mode
Vibrate Mode
Outdoor Mode
Also how to enable that feature?

Check your settings. It depends on your rom and you may not have it. Please ask in the above thread to get further assistance.

So, I flashed octane 3.0 today and everything was going well until I tried to get into recovery mode to fix permissions. When
I press the power button and try to enter it through there, the phone just resets without turning off. So I tried to get into CWM by vol up +vol dwn, nothing happened same thing with download mode, so now I can't even Odin back to another ROM to start over. I notice in the power menu that only the silent mode, flight mode, and power off options work. I did also change the bootanimation file too. Does anyone know what could be going on? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try using the android debug bridge:
Recovery:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Download Mode:
Code:
adb reboot download
EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention that you have to enable developer mode.
On your phone (with usb unplugged) go to Settings -> Applications -> Development
Check "USB debugging".
Also, what did you flash from? Another Gingerbread rom? Or a Froyo rom?

Not sure how much experience you have, but when I first started putting things into these modes, I was holding the power button down too long, causing the phone to reset again. I've found waiting about 1-2 seconds after you get the boot screen to let go of the power button is enough to ensure you get into CWM. For download mode, I have trouble getting it to work reliably unless I do the battery pull/USB cable method.

I'm coming from octane 2.X. I'll try ADB when I get home. Can't use it at work.

Yeah......I flash a lot. This is the first time I've ever had a problem. I was trying to retrace what I did when I was changing the bootanimation file. I must have screwed something up. I did change the permission of the /system/bin/bootanination but I changed it back after I realized I needed to change /system/media/bootanimation.zip
Update:
downloaded quick boot from the market and now I can get into CWM (weird). Going to reflash everything and try again.

Hello everybody,
first I wanna say THANK YOU to all people here - it's an awesome forum here !
My problem is the following:
I use ARHD 4.1.11 with EQS from blackdog7. When I want to restart my phone using the power menu -> restart it doesn't restart, it switches off. Does someone have a solution for this or can explain why this happens?
Best regards,
h0leripper
Have you tried quick boot app from market? It's free and you can restart and enter into bootloader and recovery as well.
I just use the 3 button combo to restart, hole both volume buttons and power..

Thanks for your reply!

Some roms don't. Some roms offer everything from restart to recovery. That's why I always use quick boot.
Greetings of the day,
Hello everyone, I'm having a oneplus one 64GB phone that is not getting start, everytime i connect it with the charger it goes into a bootloop. Yes the phone was rooted and I was using a custom ROM with the default kernel. The issue started when I tried to reset the phone to battery settings. I think I somehow messed the kernel and now it is stuck in bootloop. The problem is that I can't connect it to my computer or put it in debug mode as it just restarts again. Any idea how to actually boot it so I can install the kernel and ROM again?

No, My phone is not getting on but whenever i am connecting it with my charger the phones goes in the Bootloop, and when i am connecting it to My PC while pressing Volume Up + Power Button Pc shows that the Unrecognized devices has been connected.
And i think phone is Hard Bricked. I have tried ADB software and one plus 1 drivers manually but it didn't worked too. I have tried minimal ADB too but it also didn't work.
Kindly let me know about it.

Volume UP + Power should boot in fastboot mode. Volume Down + Power should boot into recovery. First, try to boot recovery.

I have tried both, but nothing happens with it, Volume UP + Power shows the unrecognizable device is connected and Volume Down + Power does nothing it continues with bootloop .
Have you got Developer Options enabled?
Goto About Phone & Tap Build Number until Developer Options is activated. Goto Developer Options> Advanced Restart & enable the switch.
Press power button->Restart->Recovery.
It will now boot into Recovery.
Also have you tried keeping hold of power button whilst it bootloops. Keep holding the power button until it powers off. Then press Volume Down & Power Button to power back up (you might see a slight flicker onscreen that means it should go into Recovery mode). Keep hold of these buttons until you gain Access to Recovery Mode.
This will allow you to Recover or flash a different ROM.
If you're having issues connecting to a computer (Windows) try downloading Windows Media Center for your version of Windows. This will install media drivers to recognize your phone.. If all went well you will get the pop up with A0001 (Codename of OnePlus One). From there you should be able to enter fastboot mode through ADB.
If this doesn't help you, I'm sure that someone else will untangle the puzzle to get your device in good working order buddy. Good Luck.

This has got to be some sort of World Record for resurrecting an old post from over five years ago. Congratulations on that achievement!
Did you just join to post that?
Lol.
Hello, everybody. I have a Samsung Tab 10 1 which does not function properly with the volume lowering button (it is always pressed at hardware level) and it ALWAYS enters the safe mode.
Since the hardware level button fix is very expensive here in my country, it occurred to me to root to the tablet and disable by modifying the system files the volume button. This would never activate the safe mode and control the volume through any application.
The point is that I can't access the download mode, as the volume down button is continuously pressed, the tablet is reset by entering the download mode. So I was wondering if there is any way to access the download mode WITHOUT THE BUTTONS.
Please REMEMBER that my tablet is NOT ROOTEED.
Thank you very much for reading, if there is any other solution to my main problem, I appreciate you sharing it.

enable developer options then go to developer options and enable advanced restart, this will give you the option to reboot into the download mode automatically
Doesn't appear ADVANCE RESTART

the unlock EOM slider is ticked in dev mode
i tried the volume down + power button but it just boots up normally, i even tried boot in to recovery mode and selected option 2 to load the bootloader but still noting

i'm not sure what i do wrong and i looked through the Q&A section of the forum to see if anyone encountered the same issue but no luck yet..
EDIT: Never mined found the solution... Had to connect it to the computer and hit both volume buttons !
Turn off and hold down both at the same time.
