Hi,
Every KitKat Rom that I tried was affected by some kind of battery draining bug which has to do sth with Google Play services. Can you recommend a fix which works by doing it a single time? Uninstalling/stopping Google play services fixes the problem for a few hours only.
However, I would prefer a rom which is not affected By the bug out of the box.
I'm testing Racpu_ cm11s. Was having Google Play service wakelock, but learned somewhere on Oneplus forum about this: Install Disable Service from play store, switch to system tab, check SystemUpdateService. That somehow eliminates the wakelock. Today is 2nd cycle, 4hr screen on for youtube netflix under wifi, still rocking 48% of battery.

Because I couldn't figure out how to get nearly as good battery life with all these MM roms as KK. Still can't...

Sorry, i flashed kk roms which are not not as worth as mm roms in battery life . Why are you try best mm roms with good battery life?

Cool to hear i am not the only best-batterylife rom-hunter. How do you measure the battery performance of roms? Have a look at SoT when its close to 0% ?

Pretty much, since I use my phone for the same things everyday.

Please tell me about your (major) findings about your research. How do you log and observe your the battery consumption? Which configs for sync, screen-of-gestures, brightness ?

Sure. I wouldn't call mine "research" tho haha
Now I'm on slimsaber kk build, about the same SOT, feels slightly smoother than cm11s maybe.
Did my trick for the battery drain, but now Google Play services FC unless I set location to device only, oh well...opengapps btw.
What have you tried out so far? Did my trick work for you at all?

When you are searching for long sot, try blinoff's du. trust me, it's even better than sultan's cm13 rom

Since I opened this thread, I am on Karbon kitkat which seems to be a fork of Slimxxxx
Fortunately, I did not get an always active bug until now, so I didn't try your Bugfix.
How much SoT do you get with your roms and which configuration.?
Most times I get 4 hours with the following config
- brightness static 50%
- sync, tapToWake and offscreen gestures off ( just in case...)
With following usage profile:
- no 3d
- no video (out of short clips)
- chrome, messenger, quora, Google news
- telephone 45min
- 75% WiFi, 25% 3G

With Racpu's cm11s and Slimsaber KK build, I didn't get to use the battery all the way to like 1%, but I already got 5hr SOT before that. Here are more details.
Racpu's:
- auto brightness
- youtube and netflix a lot, some xda and chrome, abou 30min phone call
- always on wifi
- greenify in exposed mode
Slimsaber KK:
- auto brightness
- 3hr LTE, rest on wifi
- about 2hrs of youtube and netflix
- 40min navigation with google maps
- a few camera shots
Don't think this is scientific enough, but hope it gives some idea on my usage.

YouTube, video in general does really really impact SOT measurements. You get about 1,5 to 1,8 times more, I measured it a lot. Navigation is the other extreme : 3d, GPS and most times a high brightness because you are outside (on daylight)

Ah OK, that seems right. I didn't do such detailed research
Now I'm leaning towards what most people say: Battery life depends on how you use the phone.
Also, I think OPO has an amazing developer community and all roms are of high quality and yet retain their own unique qualities like functions etc.

Hi guys,I love my OnePlus One,amazing performance,camera...But the battery...
I'll get 3.30h-4h SOT on every Rom,some people get more than 6-8-9h SOT and I'm like crazy.
I don't care if I have to downgrade to kitkat,I just want a stable and with decent SOT,if you guys know any kernel,config,rom,firmware that can help me,also,I'm going to buy a new battery,cuz I use my OPO for gaming(a bit CR and Asphalt 8 sometimes) and whatsapp,facebook(not using the app,extreme battery drain)...Since 2014 working,maybe my battery Is ****ed up?Every 2-3 mins without doing anything with my screen on with brightness 50%,-1%.

For exemple,taking photos for 5 mins- -4%
Playing Asphalt 8 5m- -10%
Recording a 2m vid- -3%
Surfing internet for 5 mins- -6-7%
I think it drains too fast,also,I forget to say that I use facebook,but not the app,just facebook web,cuz the app drains battery.You know something to improve a bit the battery?Or should I buy a new battery?(Almost 4 years with it using it everyday)

I'm not good with kernel configs, but if you want balanced i'd suggest using jgcaaps cm13 rom, best camera on any rom, great performance and one of the best roms for battery (for me anyway, some may beg to differ)
Your battery is dead, man.
I've been seeing people with insane 9-10 Hour SOT but I barely get 6-7. Not saying that's bad but I don't play any games so I know it could get better. Can anybody help me out? Much appreciated.

Charge your phone from 0 to 100% and then use it till battery reaches below 10%
Now from next charging cycle you will get good Battery life

i get around 10 to 11 hours in masik. with microG . using you tube, browser miui forum miui community.
using kirks. when i was bootloader locked i achieved 11 with all stock.
I've installed miui 10 stable by xiaomi.eu and every single day my battery life is getting worse, is there any solution to improve that? any kernel to try?

Why not use beta? It's fine for me. Literally everyone say bad battery life after an update. Perhaps give it some time.
I'm looking for someway to get best battery backup with good screen on time without compromising phone speed (mainly for multitasking and app open times)

I've had good luck using the Smurf kernel with the battery spectrum profile on Havoc Oreo.
I'm going to upgrade to Havoc ? with Smurf's new ? kernel this weekend as the issue with screen off battery drain has supposedly been fixed.

According to Accubattery (awesome app BTW), I'm averaging about 10hrs (discharging 10%/hr) screen-on time and about 115hrs 35mins (discharging 0.9%/hr) screen-off time.

I should also mention that I use Greenify religiously. I also have it running as a privileged app (always root mode) via the Magisk module.
I can recommend Radioactive Kernel
Can't go wrong with any of them.
My personal experience says EX kernel, Blu(more battery focused), or Radioactive.
I use EX personally since I've had history with it before and trust it the most.

Official Lineage 17 is pretty good. Smooth and most importantly STABLE.
4h+ SOT from a full charge on (underclocked) ElementalX.
BlissRom for sure, 5h sot from full charge on stock kernel. Stable, ota updates and lots of features
If you have an european pixel, you need to flash the special kernel, otherwise no sound in calls

You don't need a guide, it's all in the ElementalX zip
Flash in TWRP and the installer will start automatically, there you can select the max frequencies for the little and big clusters.

Those estimations totally depend on usage, but in my experience it would last a day, with below 10% left at the end of the day. So the battery does not offer a usage time anything better than average.

bliss rom for sure!
Mine is like brand new when I bought it at Craigslist, lasted a day and a half, not a heavy user, not a gamer too... frequent YouTube's and Twitter
