Just got an update for my galaxy s6 32gb it's still on 5.1.1 just received an update and I've no clue what it was does anybody know?

If you give us more information we can tell you what the update was. can you go to Settings>about phone and see there and give me the Build number and baseband version.
Samsung usually says nothing detail informations about their updates. So just try it.
The builtnumber of the update would be helpfull.
Then it depends how big the update is. I assume its the latest COJx update around 140 mb?
Security und Performance updates is probably the most what we can say.

i have an australian GS6 running Android 5.0.2 Build- LRX22G.G920IDVU1AOC4 but Australia is really slow when it comes to updates for samsung phones. I heard there is a micro update fixing RAM and crash issues, i want this update but its only on international versions of the s6 SM-G920F, can i flash it to my GS6 even tho its a different model? which countries have the update?
What is the smoothest Firmware for GS6(country)?

yes optus firmware but it doesnt have bloatware, only googles apps

Thanks mate. No Update for me Telstra s6 yet.
it does feel smoother and feels snappier, just wish battery life was better, i think i might switch to an iphone 7 lol or 6s plus when its released

does anyone know if in your s6 setting when automatic check for updates is on. is it possible It will install the update without me knowing this?
because apperently a update is available for the ram problem. When i contact samsung belgium they say that they don't know about a ram problem and an update from samsung
And when i check for firmware update ... nothing

there is no update for the RAM issue yet.. guess we will have to wait for 5,1,1

Your phone will ask you before an update is installed, always!

Got an S6 edge from Belgium too. But since i'm rooted , i won't know when there is a new fw.
Can you let us know here when an update (fix for RAM) will be released in belgium ?

I tried connecting to smart switch on PC..still the same..my buddy who also owns an s6 here, has already received the 5.1.1 update.
Any help n suggestions will be good.

Find the firmware in sammobile and use odin to installed.
Unable to update firmware i returned two faulty s6 on 5.1.1 on three network,this third is on 5.0.2 an phone and smartswitch is saying latest update ,i know this is not the case i contacted you over a week ago regarding this an still no sign of an update im wondering do i have yet another faulty s6

Yes it is maneesha I sent back 2 faulty s6 that were on 5.1 this third is on 5.0,2 and saying up to date I know that's not the case

That's correct, we have another update which has been released, 5.1.1 has only been released in the last few weeks. As updates are released in batches and does depend on the serial number and the region you live in.

Yes Chris, the update will still come to your phone, it's nothing to do with a fault. If we released the update to every Samsung user the servers would eventually crash. The update being released in batches does allow a smoother operating.

I have currently 5.1.1 on my galaxy s6 sm-g920f, i live in europe and the 6.0.1 update does not show up. A friend of mine who also owns a s6 got his 6.0.1 ota update.I tried even connecting it with smart switch but still, no update notification.
Can someone help? I dont want to install it manually i just wanna know how to get it officially.

It's rolled it out in batches to make sure their servers aren't bombarded with tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of people trying to update it at once.
And your friend may not have the international version: some other carriers push it out quicker
If you want to do it officially, it's just a matter of patience. I know the feeling of frustration, checking for system updates twice a day, but it'll arrive eventually
I had my phone sourced from the US, just to make sure I got the snapdragon variant ,I live in nigeria ,I don't know if the region change is causing the slow update or if I'll end up getting it at all ,please any help regarding what I can do will be appreciated

Please check software update notes before posting.
One UI 5 has not yet been released for that model, so is there no "slow update" happening. You are already updated to the newest current version. When a new update is released, I'm sure you'll get it

When I said "please check notes", checking does not mean posting here in the thread every single day. It means use Google or other means to find the information on the internet yourself.
The update will likely not be released until next year
