as of the date of this comment, there has yet to have a working 5.1.1 root You can use Unikernel, which is built for 5.1.1 as another form of rooting the device.

Yes i know unikernel working but.. i have added some things to kernel i have compiled kernel from samsung source code and...
I can't use custom kernel cooked by another people because they haven't integrated aditional drivers for usb things what i need.
I search a lot of time how they integrate root and remove seandroid comunicat from 5.1.1 . And they kernels good working.
My kernels working with root only like STOCK after use pingpongroot working.. another method don't working.
I don't found answer on this "WHAT they do for integrate root to kernel and no BOOTLOOP?!?!?!" :/
I have too success compiled kernel with Linaro NDK and it give my nothing another for ROOT than normal NDK from Android source :/

Hi all,
Since a few days I'm trying to update my Nexus 5 to Android 4.4.4 but everything I've tryed has failed !
Today I'm running stock ROM 4.4.2 + root + TWRP recovery + Xposed
What I've tryed :
_ OTA : device reboot on recovery and does nothing
_ Flash stock using the latest Nexus Rom Toolkit from Wug Refresh : device reboot on bootloader and get stuck on a "downloading..." message while PC get stuck on "downloading bootloader"
_ Flash zip from TWRP : tryed several zip, all of them has failed
I don't know what to do next, so now I'm asking your help...
Also I hope this post is in the right section !
Download vomer's stock rooted 4.4.4 rom from the development section and dirty flash it from custom recovery. This should do the job.
You can find the mentioned rooted stock in my signature, section 6.6

Before trying this custom ROM could you explain me the difference with the stock ROM and why I cannot flash the stock one ?
Is it because I have Xposed or something ?
And also after flashing the custom by vomer, can I try to flash again the stock one ?

The One which we are telling you to flash is the stock rom. Yes, it's because you have Xposed and other modules installed.. God knows what changes it has made to system.
There's no need to flash the factory images again as vomer's thread contains the stock itself.

All of your questions have already been answered, except the Vomer ROM one. While technically a custom ROM, it is only stock ROM with root. So going back to pure stock would be pointless.

Hi all,
I have an Galaxy Note Edge type SM-N915FY with custom rom installed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/rom-micky387-rom-v1-0-t2998972
My phone is running on android 5.0.1 with kernel: 3.10.30-andrei-N915F-BOC6-v1.0
Baseband-version: N915FYXXU1BOB5
Yesterday I was trying to install the newer custom rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/rom-micky387lollifamous5-1-1v1-t3200849
To make sure this will work, I needed to flash the TWRP , after I tried to flashed this using Odin, the phone got in a Bootloop. So I flashed the older TWRP again and my phone is booting again.
So I tried to clear the cache, but then I get the error: Unable to mount \cache, I didn't know how to solve this so I reflashed the TWRP again through Odin, but still the same issue.
Do you guys know how I could install another custom rom? My phone is rooter, just to make sure.
Thanks in advance.

To move on to newer custom ROMs (based on 5.1.1), you need to download and flash Stock 5.1.1, which you can download from here, then you can root it, to get the necessary files for doing so, check this thread out.
Credits for TWRP, new ROMs and the possibility of root on 5.1.1 go to micky387.
You Saved me. After I flashed the original android 5.1.1 I was able to flash TWRP and install custom rom.
Many thanks!
Hello guys, few months back i had installed the Android M preview and then to root the device i had installed a custom Kernel on my Google Nexus 5. Now i have upgraded to the stock MRA58N 6.0.0 ROM manually using the factory images by google. Now i want to know, how can i revert back to the stock kernel. And is flashing stock automatically reverts back to stock kernel? How will i root again on Android 6.0.0 please help
Flashing the factory images replaces the current kernel (if using the flash-all script). If you have flashed them one by one, did you flash the boot.img file?
To root MM builds, check SuperSU MM thread to flash a modified boot image then flash SuperSU or flash a custom kernel then SuperSU.
Hey, I flashed twrp 3.0.0 via odin on my s6 g920f 6.0.1 rooted device (custom kernel) and now I can't boot into recovery, my phone works well, also download mode, just recovery gives me Recovery is not seandroid enforcing and stuck there.
I know this message is normal and not concerning but it's still not booting into recovery, I flashed the wrong version?
Try reflashing stock 6.01 ROM via Odin. ?
latest official TWRP (3.0.2-0) does not support 6.0 bootloader, so that's why you are stuck on boot.
until a new fixed version is released, you can try to use 2 alternatives :
1. @arter97 version , thread here , download page here
2. idlekernel version , download page here

IDK.. my phone works pretty good, it still starts and no problem at all. only recovery isn't booting.
I don't want to format it and flash stock again just because of it.

i heard that you need to flash custom kernel , that stock kernel cannot boot TWRP, because of 6.0.1 bootloader.
. I am on the same case now, looking for solution because i don't want to use custom kernel, just TWRP and root it using Supersu.

Actually I am running SpaceX MM kernel(auto root)... so twrp should be fine.
i edited my previous post, you have there solution.

Yeah and it worked. Also flashed xposed, when I installed greenify module it caused bootloops so I flashed xposed uninstaller, I guess no xposed for me
Hey guys,
Until now i had my phone untouched , original rom without root , updated to version G920FXXU4DPJD .
Now i need to root it , can somebody recommend a solution ?
I looked for framaroot and pingpong root but they don`t support this version .
I'm running the same version. If you're looking for a knox-free solution, you won't find one. Rooting 6.0.1 will trigger knox 0x1.
I rooted with flashing TWRP via ODIN and then flashed a custom kernel (first Hacker kernel, which gave me random reboots, now N0G33K V2 without any problems) with root.
