Here is the problem I'm having. I'll attempt to listen to music via any type of music player. I've used winamp, amazon mp3, Google Music, and also the stock music player. Each of them will tell me they have a problem playing the file I select but each program does show all of my music listed. My music is stored in /sd_card/media if that helps.
So if I reboot my phone and then attempt to play music then it typically works. I normally have to do this at least once a day. I"m using the latest Infused ROM but I was having this problem with stock rom as well.
I was curious if anyone else was having this problem and if there was any solutions that you might recommend.
Not sure if this has been discussed here yet, but the latest version of Google Play Music is now playing gapless for me. Works with both local flac files and stuff I've uploaded to Google. OK so possibly a very small skip from the Google mp3, but the local flacs are perfect. I'm running version 4.4.811H.526848. Congratulations Google. I'm impressed. Now if I could just do something about this crappy Yamaha DSP in my skyrocket...
Running CM10 stable.
Hi,
I've got Nexus 5 with stock ROM. I can't stream from Google Play Music to Chromecast. I immediately get 'Could not play' message once I switch output to Chromecast. Plays fine on the phone itself. I also can stream to Chromecast just fine from computers at home/Chrome browser and I can also stream from my HTC Desire HD using that very Google Play Music. Something's wrong with Nexus 5 setup or Google Play Music itself. Any clues? Thanks!

Not sure....works just fine on my N5 to Chromecast.
Hmm... What's strange is that I can stream YouTube from my N5 to Chromecast fine as well, it's just GPM. The only thing that I did to the phone is rooted and flashed Dalvik and Bionic patches. Trying to troubleshoot, I flashed stock Dalvik back, but it did not help. OK, perhaps the next step would be to go clean and flash the whole stock ROM and wipe everything.
brianfields33, are you on stock ROM? Thanks.
This may seem obvious but have you updated everything on Google Play? The Play Services (I think that's it) needs to be latest version. Probably Google Music, too.
I have an LG G2 and have no issue casting GM.
Also, are these local files you are trying to stream? You cannot stream local files from GPM, only ones you actually have in your GPM library. You'll have to use other apps if you want to play local music files.
kimtyson - yes, everything was updated to the latest versions.
korockinout13 - I mentioned that I can play music without streaming. So, this is not type of a file issue. And I actually was streaming from the GPM library.
I figured the issue. I did a factory reset and got GPM streaming working. Then I started adding my apps. It appeared that Kaspersky Antivirus blocks streaming from GPM. That's strange since the same config works fine from HTC Desire HD. Anyway, it works now and I know where to dig further. Thanks all for replies!
First: I searched and didn't found anything related
My question is whether there's a possibility to add apps to the functionality of AudioFX. Play Music and ACE Music Player are the only apps I have installed which are using AudioFX. I'm listening to a lot of YouTube music and it would be glorious if AudioFX would work with YT, too. Anyone has got an idea?
So, enyone knows how to modify AudioFX to works in all apps, like global equalizer ?
Hey guys, I recently rooted my phone and i have flashed Cm 12.1 on my device. I wanted to use Viper4Android as my EQ. For that I installed Phonograph, a material design music player. The problem I face now is that Viper settings are not being applied when the tracks are playing. Initially I thought it was the compatible issue so I changed the mode to compatible but then the music player couldn't play any song. Each time I select a track, it responds with "Couldn't play the song". Any help would be appreciated.

After some googling I finally got it to work. It was the SElinux issue. If anyone else is having the same issue refer the link: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/viper4android-for-cm11s-and-cm12-cm12s-zip-instructions.275788/
Sorry for the trouble
