[Q] power button issue (not stuck button I don't think)

Hello everybody,
I have an annoying problem, I am running seans jelly bean 4.0t Rom with the latest update. My issue is when I press my power button once from an off screen state, the screen turns on, shows the power down menu, and then the screen goes black and I get the phone vibrating at every two second intervals. I can do a hard reboot from this point by holding the power button down for ten seconds and the phone will reboot. I have worked around this issue by using the wake screen with volume button feature, but I would like to be able to use my power button again. It does this problem everytime I press it once, it even does it after a clean flash with wiping everything 3x. Has anyone run into this issue before? I have searched for a problem like this, but haven't found any like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced

Android is upgrading- trigger?

So im using the nexus 5 for like a year and my power button became problematic, pressing itself sometimes, ordered a new button.
And im going to replace it, untill then, i downloaded third party apps to use the nexus without having to press the power button.
My question for you guys or experts, is what trigger makes my phone sometimes (after pressing the button which makes reboot) to go into the "android is upgrading optimising apps", and if it is a manual trigger with the power button, is it possible to turn it off?

My buttons have stopped working

Hi guys,
Recently my power button has stopped working. After a short time my home button started to suck too. Did anyone had a problem like this?

Meanwhile I resolved it.
The side button was replaced in a gsm.
The home button was resolved by me: i put a few drops of alcohol near the button, and pressed multiple times. I did this around 3 times and life came back in the button.
Just in case someone has same problems.

Home button / Power button not working

This started a couple of days ago. Both power button and home button randomly stopped working. I thought it was a ROM issue, so I tried flashing another ROM (I was on stock/rooted). Tried 2 different ROMS and had the same problem with both of them. Flashing another kernel (arter kernel) didn't work, either.
I've noticed the power button works normally until I press the home button, which acts like a long-press (bringing up google now on tap or google now when I disable tap). After that, the phone doesn't recognize the power button.
I can apparently bring it back to work if I take a screenshot (home+power button combination).
Has anyone experience anything similar?

I have exactly the same problem, it seems after installing an APP. The app is already uninstalled on my phone. How did you fix it?

Stock J7 prime suddenly stopped working, BSOD/Bricked?

The J7 prime I was using suddenly stopped working while I was running some searches on Google Assistant. It did not overheat, no root/kernel level modifications were installed. Was running stock sammy 6.0.1 rom and wasn't rooted.
I've tried to boot it to recovery/dfu , tried every volume+home+pwr button combo. But it just won't do anything. Help please?

You're probably solved this by now - but I just had the same issue. Nothing else I tried worked before this:
While on charge (it won't say that it is charging or anything) hold Home Button + Power button for 30sec then wait a minute or 2.
After that press Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button for a few seconds.
After a few seconds I got a turquise screen warning me about a custom OS install.
I cancelled that with a Volume Down press and then my phone booted normally.
