A port for this phone would be awesome. I still believe this is the best phone HTC has ever produced. Perfect size, awesome speakers, great camera, nice display. Only thing it is missing is expandable storage (and a port of this rom )

A port is very possible. If you recall we(few members of skydragon) ported sense 7 of imgs. Downloading this now to see what we can come up with. I couldn't get a test device this time around so to OP really appreciate posting these!

we are working on it as I type. I got boot.img modded and ready and system.img is unpacked into files. Final step is to deodex this.. Either manually or with a tool. Going to see what happens.

It's not as easy as you all may think. Let's wait until October for HTC to drop 4.2 for our device. I hate to say wait as I'm a go get her done guy but Simon and I have been working really hard trying to get CM compiling for our device but can't do much until htc releases 4.1 source code for the k2cl I'll start working again but I'm mainly waiting for HTC to release 4.2 source as it will make all our lives much much easier. Also, porting sense>aosp(miui) is difficult where as aosp/cm>sense is much easier

But its a pitty that the development-sections for K2_U(L) are as empty.. It's a really nice and cheap phone, I don't get it.

I think i can try to get a linux dump from my device, but it is a k2u, without LTE, and this will not help the people with LTE?

The similar HW device is Sony Xperia L but i don't find anything miui rom.

No good, it needs to be dumped with MiCode tools; I can walk anyone through it and if a public github could be established where people could make changes this could get done in a steady amount of time

Don't know if i'm experienced enough to do that. I don't really have knowledge about working with Linux.
What is MiCode tools? Never heard of it. Im familiar with linux if K2_CL will be useful

it is possible to use tw as base but i dont know if it will boot without modifying the kernel
I tried porting this all night. I followed MIUIs porting instructions by the letter but I do not get further than the bootlogo. Sadly I have no idea how to get a meaningful error message out of this. Any suggestions? (Or anyone wanting to team up on this?)

I'm going to try the instructions I just saw that they release kitkat version of miui for mi3 and I'll try it like I did on my old One X, try to port it on the samsung rom
Yes. When you try following their instructions you will get their bootlogo animation but then the device will be stuck there. As far as I understand it is not possible to get a logcat at this stage so I am out of ideas how to meaningfully debug this?

I copied over CM's boot.img, and their bin, xbin, etc, lib, and usr folders

I always have a nandroid, cause I try a lot mods or roms. I like experimenting around, one of my toys is now a 200 $ paperweight.

What does this do? I didnt understand
It flashes just like any other viper4android zip but for m8 (in my case works) it renames a file:
#!/sbin/sh
mv /system/etc/htc_audio_effects.conf /system/etc/htc_audio_effects.bak

But on the other hand it's not that hard to try out yourself. Creating a nandroid backup and flash the zip, checking the outcome takes less time than the 13 hours between your posts.
Why is it always someone else who has to confirm if it works or not, you can be that person too !

Yea sorry didn't try it out myself and check. I will. But you know, S ROM is based on the GPE , that's why kernels like elementalx GPE versions work. So technically it should work on S ROM. Anyway will try it on sense and report back.

Obviously I'm not expecting one to one port of code.
But I'm guessing the NitrogenOS rom branches can be mixed with the OPO device branches so to make that rom ported.
Just like other ROMs, right?
Simply I never done that and none of the 'build yourself' guides i tried worked out for me.

I was able to build the rom for the one but it didn't boot (logcat said: "Slim services.jar not found") I contacted the dev but have not received a response yet. I will try syncing the 7.1 source to see if it works
