Hey guys. In Lollipop there used to be a section under apps in the settings where you could see what all was currently running in the background. It looks like in Marshmallow this feature has been removed or moved to a different location in the settings. Does anyone know where it moved to and how to find this in the settings?

There is a pretty simple way to go in these launcher settings.
1. Download and install Launcher Pro from Google Play (you don't need to set it as default launcher or anything)
2. Add Activities widget to your LG Launcher home screen. Search for Home - com.lge.launcher2.hiddenmenu.LGHomeHiddenMenuActiv ity
3. VoilĂ now you have access to hidden settings from your Home screen. If you change your settings they will keep even after restarting your phone.

Those just look like a non polished interface for your custom launcher. My guess is that they aren't LG launcher specific, they are Launcher PRO specific...
In which case you're telling us that a custom launcher has more features than the integrated one, which isn't really news to anyone on XDA mate.

look at the name of the shortcut.. it's LG launcher 2 hidden menu.. so yeah its a stock launcher hidden menu. you can use anycut or something else to launch different shortcuts that are otherwise hidden, but he's using a different launcher to launch the hidden shortcut.

Check that it is right one that you try to launch. There are 2 pretty similar names. Another one doesn't work.

I'm only interested in changing a few settings on the LG launcher, does anybody know of a way to do basic stuff like change the alignment from 5x5 to something else?
*EDIT* found it! got it to work. you go into Home > the second hiddenmenu thing, not the first one you see.
As you can see at the bottom, no names on my dock icons. Feature_hotseat_notext did that

Questions should be posted in the Q&A Forum.
Also, don't create multiple threads for the same issue and post them in the wrong forum...

Hi all, I have a question related to calendar.
Calender notifications are skipped if phone is turned off. I have a Nexus 5, stock rooted Android v. 4.4.2
Is there anyway to prevent the turned off phone from skipping calendar notifications?
This was not a problem on Android v2.3
Thanks for your help!
Is there anything I can do to let me get the phablet ui . I know paranoid android doesn't have hybrid settings yet and pacman isnt officially released so is there a way ?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
The phablet ui no longer exists. Google removed it.
There were 2 things before:
Tablet/Phablet layout of SystemUI - This changed how status bar, notification drawer and navigation buttons were laid out. Google dropped the native implementation (which PA used) for kitkat. Any future implementation of this will need to be completely custom. I haven't seen that anyone has managed this yet
Tablet layout of apps - this is different. App developers may want their app to appear differently on a tablet than on a phone so they develop the app to change at a certain dpi (generally tablets have lower dpi). This still exists. It can be triggered by dropping the dpi to something that will make your eyes bleed or by using xposed+app settings module, which allows per app control of the layout using the "screen (dp)" option
Hope this helps

I think google wanted a unified experience across device types. It kind of makes sense to me. If you can use an android phone, you can use an android tablet. When I first tried a Honeycomb tablet I didn't know wtf was going on

Hi All,
Most people are looking for apps to kill other apps when they are running - I'm actually looking for the opposite. Phone keeps killing apps to free up some RAM here and there, and some of the apps to not restart themselves. Are there any good apps out there that can be used to monitor specific apps and restart them if they are killed by the system?
Thanks!

Or Xposed plus the app settings module. You can force apps to stay in memory so they won't be killed.

I'm not sure about Rom Toolbox Lite but the Pro version lets you add apps to the exclude list for task manager so those apps don't get killed.

Thanks, I think I have the pro of that app purchased from a while ago. Will give that one a try as well.
Just a heads up this seems to be working again.
Got the apk from here:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...phone-3-01-08_rc8-android-apk-download/#notes
It installed fine.
Then just went to Settings>Apps and disabled the old Dialer.
Finally, went to Settings > Apps > cog button > Default Apps and set Google Dialer to default.
So far I have not seen any issue.
Please let me know if you find any.

Caller ID, it allows you to search for local bussinesses, block phone numbers and more.
Why does this one work on non-Nexus devices and the versions before didnt? Maybe they finally consider releasing it for all devices now.

Probably not.
Also, the other versions didn't install since they were suppoused to be only for Nexus and Google Play Edition devices.

Looks and works exactly the same as 2.5.11_rc8 although there appears to be several changes in apk file.
How is this compared to http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...p-google-dialer-2-32-google-contacts-t3263859. ???
I think you need root for that. This app is latest(ish) version and has Call Blocking and Google Caller ID.
Previously you couldn't install this Nexus only Dialler on other phones hence needing root.
But this version escaped Google somehow and simply installs like any other apk. A day later they realised their mistake and made it Nexus only again.
