Hi All,
Most people are looking for apps to kill other apps when they are running - I'm actually looking for the opposite. Phone keeps killing apps to free up some RAM here and there, and some of the apps to not restart themselves. Are there any good apps out there that can be used to monitor specific apps and restart them if they are killed by the system?
Thanks!

Thanks, I'll check it out.
Or Xposed plus the app settings module. You can force apps to stay in memory so they won't be killed.

That's perfect, I already have Xposed and the App Settings module. Thanks a ton! Would this be the "insistent notification" option?
Nope. The resident checkbox is what you want. http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-app-settings-v1-7-1-2013-12-15-t2437377

No problem.

I'm not sure about Rom Toolbox Lite but the Pro version lets you add apps to the exclude list for task manager so those apps don't get killed.

This app Gemini App Manager(com.seasmind.android.gmappmgr) is not longer available in Google play.
Has changed of name? removed by Google or developer?

I have advance task killer and I close apps frequently through out the day. For some strange reason there are 30+ apps running when I'm only using 10 of at the most or a little more. How can I keep them from opening after they have been terminated???
My S3 is starting to move slow and I don't like it One bit!!!
One of the cardinal rules of Android is to never use a task killer......
As you have found out, the apps just open again anyway & all that open/closing will absolutely kill your battery life.

Don't use a task killer, especially on Froyo and above.
Task killers are totally counter-productive in Android.
Android does a great job of memory management all by itself, just let it do its thing & don't worry about it.
Never use ATK. Wastes more battery then the apps themselves.
As everyone else has said, using a task killer makes things worse, not better.
What everyone has said about not using task killer plus, exit apps using the back button and not home if you want to close them. That way they will exit rather than stay in memory. Also, if you really want to dump everything out of memory then hold in home>task manager>end all.
And it's moving slowly since the task killer kills the app so the app relanches itself. Killed, relaunch, killed relaunch, killed relanch. Now multiply that by 10 or 20 or 30 apps and it's a wonder your CPUand RAM haven't melted yet.
There's a stock option in 'settings-developer settings' to limit background processes. Also to kill any app you leave right away.

I have an app called Eva which is a voice assistant. I believe ics is sometimes closing the app when its in the background, because the widget for the app is not responsive and has no text sometimes and works fine other times. I don't know of anyway in ics to set an exception in the task management to never close this app or its background process. Any way to get around this without a 3rd party task killer? Or is there any way to see a log of what ics is killing in the background to confirm my suspicion?

It's probably the apps problem I'd contact their user support.

Hi guys,
Is it possible to remove stock apps without root on the HTC One S? Perhaps with any app or something.
Thanks!
It's called the "no possible way".apk

In the past on other devices (MT4G, G2) I've used Titanium Backup to freeze the app. It doesnt remove it per se, but it stops it from running. Sometimes other apps require the presence of the the offending app to just be there. I forget which app broke for me when I ripped out an apk for some game TMO had placed on the ROM.
You could also use another launcher to hide the apps you dont want. If you don't want to root. Out of sight, out of mind mentality.
you cannot remove the apps but with ICS you can stop teh application from launching (which will hide from the app menu)./ Just go to settings, apps, all, and you can choose "Disable".

Nice! that's fine for me
Hi!
My problem is this: I know that people can keep more of 2 apps in cache or background for example: facebook and browser. That is my problem.
For example:
I m typing on facebook about sth. and i opened a link for see in the browser, Ok. Problem is when I wanna back to facebook this is rebooting again. Is like if I had never opened the app
I have a question
You can open Real Racing and the Browser at the same time? If any of the two apps are closing in background? Thanks
Sorry for mistakes
Thanks in advance
Please anyone have idea or somebody is happening that problem?
That problem is disgusting and I don't know how resolve it

Maybe you have too many apps installed that are running in background and eating your RAM. If you're rooted try to hibernate unnecessary apps using greenify

check in settings - developer options if you have unchecked "dont keep activities" and set "background process limit" to standart

1) Where can I find the option to select apps I want to freeze/disable?
2) Is there a secure/open profiles?
im using titanium backup to completely remove unwanted apps and files. no need for freezing

For the installed non-system app there are no disable option since generally they can be simply uninstalled (and reinstalled if needed).
maybe u can try and use a debloater app from the play store in ur case

In Android original design, pre-install app you can disable it.
However, there is only uninstall for the app you installed from app store.
You can refer the Nexus serious phone for this case.
If your phone has disable for "all" application, it's modified by your phone manufacturer.

Generally it's also possible to uninstall some non-system app preinstalled by the manufacturer or the network carrier (for. ex. some games or shopping apps).

On my Vibe Z2 Pro I have the option to freeze any app I select as well as I have the option to switch between open and secure profiles, so both run simultaneously as two separate OS's. I was hoping Mate 8 would have both options.
