status 7 error help needed please - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I keep getting status 7 error, I have flashed the stock ROM with Odin several times and still cannot take the OTA or flash the ZIP file. What else can I do?
E: Error in tmp sideload package.zip
status 7
and
E unknow volume for path sdcard1

That error means that you are flashing wrong incompatible rom to your device to prevent damage!!
So if you are sure that rom is compatible and getting this error by mistake then follow instructions from this thread!

Good luck!

Problem CWN

I have to install LP1 version on my galaxy notes and since when I want to put a rom official since CWM i have the message "" Bootloader files have found. This app does not flash bootloaders. Usually bootloaders can safely be skipped. If not, likely you will be able to find a bootloader-only package on XDA to flash through ODIN" ...
I have this message after installation :
" E: Unknown volume for path [/preload]ncan't mount 'preload (file exists)"
Help me please...
I'm French sorry for error....

[Q] E: Error in /sdcard/cm-10-20121 (status 7) when install from sdcard cm10-20121005

E:Error in /sdcard/cm-10-20121010-unofficial-infuse4g.zip

Status 7 means a getprop error...in other words, cwm detected that the zip does not suit your phone...if you are really sure that the zip is for your phone, extract the zip and find a file named "updater-script"...open it with a text editor and delete all the lines starting with "assert(getprop..." (something like that, forgot the lines )..save the file and rezip everything you extracted...then try flashing again...
Which version of CWM are you using? I've seen this on another Samsung device when I was using the wrong CWM. You need to be in CWM 6.
I had this error happen to me too, you need to odin back to stock and just flash your way back up to JB

[Completed] Cyanogenmod Updater - Status 7

I have a Galaxy S4 (SGH-M919V) which is the Canadian Variant (Wind/Mobilicity). I used Cyanogenmod Installer and it identified my phone as jfltecan (Canadian Variants) which is good, it got my phone rooted and CM on it but it was KitKat and CM didn't support Lollipop on jfltecan.
Therefore, I manually flashed a jfltetmo (T-Mobile) nightly-may-1st which is similar to SGH-M919V by opening up the script update file and getting rid of the "assert" code that checks if you have the correct phone and correct file. I have SGH-M919V phone and jfltetmo file. was successful and got 5.1.1 Lollipop and my sim working. Few days later, now there's multiple nightlies and I try to use the built in updater to get the most recent nightly. I download it and tap to install it, it takes me to CWM recovery, and displays the following. (Problem #1)
Finding update package...
E: unknown volume for path [@/cache/recovery/block.map]
E: Can't mount @/cache/recovery/block.map
Installation aborted.
Rebooting...
That didn't work but I had that installation zip file downloaded therefore I went to recovery and manually installed it, is displayed the following. (Problem #2)
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
This package is for device: jfletmo, jflte; this device is jfltecan.
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
The status 7 can be fix by opening up the script update file and removing "assert" code but I don't want to do that for every nightly I will install. Can anyone help me to a solution to problem 1 and 2 or at least one of them. I would really absolutely appreciate it. Thank You.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I suppose you could edit your build.prop on your device to show the product and device that's listed in the assert line of the rom's updater.script. But be careful as flashing stuff not for your specific device can brick it.

[Q] How to solve "Error executing updater binary zip"?

Hi
I am not sure if anyone is still reading this forum, but I recently found my old Desire S and wanted to flash a ROM to it to revive it.
But I stumbled upon several problems.
The phone has currently twrp v2.8.7.1 installed, but simply installing a rom zip file with it always delivers the same error:
E:Error exectuting updater binary in zip '/sdcard/CM-11S-UNOFFICIAL-BR1-saga.zip
Error flashing zip 'sdcard/...'
I tried several roms I found in this forum, but most of the download links seem to be offline by now. I do not really care which rom is installed. The only goal was to find one which is working and the phone can be used with it.
It is not possible to mount->sd-ext in twrp even though an sd card is installed.
Mount->data is only possible when the sd-card is inserted. If it is removed mounting data is not possible.
Yesterday I had some trouble with wiping most of the available partitions in twrp, but today it seems to work properly, except wipe->advanced->internal storage which results in the error: "Invalid partition selection"
It is probably also worth mentioning that wipe->Format Data->yes was performed, and therefore barely any data is currently on the phone.
ADB and Fastboot commands can be executed from the pc and are being processed.
That's pretty much every information I think would be beneficial to find a solution to the flashing problem.
I also found the thread "[Q] How can I install Mokee rom?" in this forum, where the same problem ("exectuting updater binary in zip ...") seems to be solved by installing a newer version of twrp. But since I think, that the installed one on my phone is the newest, I only think that I could try downgrading the recovery. Not sure if this would help, and where to find an older recovery.
Thanks in advance for any possible solutions to approach the given problem.
Edit:
I installed recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-saga to try a different recovery. Then I pushed the rom via adb. The installation failed with:
"set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E: Error in /sdcard/rom.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted."
Edit2: SOLVED
If someone else should have similar problems:
The error message from cwm seems to indicate that the used rom is not flashable with this version of cwm.
I was able to install the ics rom aokp_saga_milestone-6-120708-2354 with cwm version recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-saga (both can be found in the download section https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146601
Try 4ext recovery v1.0.0.6 RC3 build8.

Question Problem updating arrowOS

I get an error when I install the system update.
I want to update manually via recorvery but I get an error: E: recvmsg failed (No buffer space available) do you have any ideas for this? System arrowOS
and assert failed: update_dynamic_partitions(package_extract_file("dynamic_partitions_op_list")) E:Error in /sideload/package.zip (status 1)
MAybe your downloaded file is corrupted?
No, I have that with every update. It only works when you reload the system. I reset the settings and everything and the same
It seems you are updating via sideload, maybe damaged data cable?
I changed the cable and the same
Why not just use OTA update?
TWRP latest beta and arrow recovery support that.
Never had any issue like that even when I manually updated in TWRP.
I just tried via OTA but an error pops up
Installation via TWRP: Updater process ended with ERROR: 1, Error installing zip file '/external_sd/Arrow-v12.1-vayu-Official-20220821-VANILLA.zip, Failed to mount '/system_root' (No such file or directory)

Flash MIUI Fastboot-Image, then ArrowOS. /system_root' (No such file or directory) <= not good.
If you are fast enough, you can boot directly into fastboot after successfully flashing MIUI and flash TWRP and ArrowOS. I did this on another phone a few months ago and it worked
Tried different ways to restore and nothing has helped. I downloaded Crdroid and solved the problem. Thanks to everyone for the answers <3

That just means your download was 100% corrupted.
