Greetings,
I hope I am not breaking any of the rules of this forum by opening this topic. Also, I am not going to advertise/promote anything. Here are some of the main issues I would like to address:
1. VISA: Coming from the Balkans and not being in the EU, a visa is needed for me because I am from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 3rd world sh*thole country. It is my wish to go live and work anywhere abroad (Western Europe, USA, Scandinavia, Australia)
2. LINKS: I need links that provide jobs with employees that can cover the working permit and/or visa for me.
3. SKILLS: I am willing to work and learn, thus being very familiar around Linux, Windows, Adobe, administration, hardware, security and IT in general. If not that kind of job, I am willing to work on any other position that would allow me to progress further.
PLEASE NOTE: I am here to find information only. I am NOT here for frauds of any kind. Please do not ban me or try to pin me any referral/advertising penals. I am hoping for a good discussion. Thank you.

Why don't you try Google, not the company but the site in searching. You do realize this is a Development site, not a job hunter site. And your referring of other Countries, is not needed in this manner.
So with that said, Thread Closed.

BREAKING NEWS!
TREV WINS
Mountain View, CA – November 23, 2011 – As, of today, we are withdrawing
our cease and desist letter to Mr. Trevor Eckhart. We have reached out to Mr.
Eckhart and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) to apologize. Our action
was misguided and we are deeply sorry for any concern or trouble that our letter
may have caused Mr. Eckhart. We sincerely appreciate and respect EFF’s work
on his behalf, and share their commitment to protecting free speech in a rapidly
changing technological world.
We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate the functionality of Carrier IQ’s
software, what it does not do and what it does:
- Does not record your keystrokes.
- Does not provide tracking tools.
- Does not inspect or report on the content of your communications, such as
the content of emails and SMSs.
- Does not provide real-time data reporting to any customer.
- Finally, we do not sell Carrier IQ data to third parties.
Our software is designed to help mobile network providers diagnose critical
issues that lead to problems such as dropped calls and battery drain.
Here’s what our software does:
- Our software makes your phone work better by identifying dropped calls
and poor service.
- Our software identifies problems that impede a phone’s battery life.
- Our software makes customer service quicker, more accurate, and more
efficient.
- Our software helps quickly identify trending problems to help mobile
networks prevent them from becoming more widespread.
We look forward to a healthy and robust discussion with EFF that we believe will
be helpful to us, to our customers, and to consumers that use mobile devices.
We welcome feedback on our products and understand that Mr. Eckhart and
other developers like him play an important role by raising questions about the
complicated and technical aspects of the mobile ecosystem.

My open letter to Carrier IQ.
Dear Carrier Iq Team,
I'm deeply annoyed and a kind of anger is surging as well.
I think you lost all credibility by the way you behaved with Mr. Eckhart, XDA dev., who did point to us users the hidden tool that you implemented in some smartphones.
Withouth the knwoledge of their customers!
Trying to sue him than retracting because of a growing pressure from the community shows also how you are acting and thinking.
Not consumer friendly and by your behaviour you do a lot of damage to that industry. Who will now believe you if you says that you don't track sensible datas or so. Me not! You just lost a lot of credibility.
I saw the post from Mr. Eckhart and the very intelligent way how he pointed that out. I'm not sure that regulations allow you to do it that way and will have to dig a bit into it.
I saw the C&D letter you sent to him and must say that your General Consel who wrote it lacks some kind of diplomacy and judgment.
Maybe you're allowed in your country to do such things, which i doubt. In Europe you could get sued for that. Keep it in mind and tell your wise General Counsel to be ready.
Do you remember how much problems Street View had in our beautifull Europe…keep that in mind also.
I'm not a dev., i'm not an it security guy, just a plain customer, an angry customer.
Sincerly.

As situation solved this nos longer needs to be stickied.
I spoke to the lawyer here in St. Louis that is going after HTC, samsung, Carrier IQ and I wanted to try and help the battle. He said that he is creating a website now that would allow group participation in the suit. This is where the XDA community comes in! He said the more people that jump on board the stronger it will look for a judge. When the website is created, I will post a link where everyone can sign up to go against any company who uses Carrier IQ, and request that they stop.
"Thank you for asking our firm to represent you in connection with this matter. In order for others who have inquired of you and are interested in pursuing this matter, they can follow the link below to a generic consumer fraud report form on our website. We are adding CIQ/Cell Phone specific forms and content as we speak but that probably won’t be available this weekend. In the meantime, anyone can use the form below to contact us about possible representation. They should be sure to include information about the exact make and model of their cell phone, the operating system it is running (Android, iOS, etc.) and their wireless carrier.
http://www.hgsslaw.com/PracticeAreas/ClassActions/ConsumerFraudReportRequest.aspx "
Under "report fraud/claim" put "Carrier IQ, wire tap, device brand name, OS, ect.
Thanks!

Us here in the XDA Community understand that HTC and Samsung are not carriers, so I don't see how they can be implemented in the lawsuit. Carrier IQ is installed by the carriers. You should do your research before bringing them into the lawsuit. I don't think you want to get counter-sued.

I appreciate your concern but research has been performed, and I think you might have to do some of your own research. Manufacturers install the software into the phone by request of carriers. Kind of makes them all responsible. Please read the statements posted in the link below:
http://www.engadget.com/update/carrier-iq-which-companies-have-the-smarts/
Seems to me that the carriers request the manufacturers install it as I read it; meaning that the manufacturers install it themselves and both parties benefit from the information collected.
Either way, under wire tap law ANY company that collects personal information without consent is in violation.

Please continue discussion here
I know everyone has their own ideas about politics. So if you are here to flame away about #OWS please do so in another place (start on FB). I am here as a mobile javascript developer who has been rooting and un-bricking Android phones for over 2 years, and as a supporter of the "cause".
So please flamers and trolls just move on..
There is no reason for me to explain here what #OWS is, and what it's about. Unless you have been living under a rock I think its pretty obvious that we are living in some very "strange times" to say the least. So strange that I am having to actually reach out to the XDA community to ask for help in doing such a project.
I am not a ROM builder, but I do know what's possible and hopefully by being apart of this process with some veteren ROM builders out there I can learn the tricks of the trade myself. Hell, if I don't get a response, then I suppose I will be doing this by myself none the less. But, I have hope that there are others that would see the benefits of this project becoming a reality.
#OWS and many other resistance movements have been infiltrated by government security, intelligence, and police units. This has made the act of coordinating "Actions" almost impossible because of leaks to Twitter, and the use of public message boards. There are actions going on every day in NYC right now as we speak, and this will only increase as we move into Spring and Summer. #OWS is finding that more often the police and security forces are there to meet them in mass force because of a lack of security and encryption practices on #OWS part.
Now, to us.. The idea of TOR and Proxies is not new, but to someone who isn't as technologically inclined as you the idea of a Rooted phone is sometimes hard to grasp. That is why I am looking to start a project like this.
So what's the project? I would like to enable OWS to be able to flash MetroPCS or some other kind of prepaid smart phones with a Rooted ROM and all the Android TOR tools installed. Orbot, Gibberbot, and OrWebV2. A doc will be created to explain basic Jabber client set-up, but we are obviously looking to host our own Jabber Server behind TOR if we can that these devices will eventually be used to connect with.
Please Google: guardianproject orbot
There will be some sort of centralized coordination of Jabber accounts on this server, but that is completely separate from what I am looking to do here. Access to these chat rooms will only be allowed when vetting of the individual has been done. Then and only when the community feels safe will someone be given a login/access to the private server. I want you, to work with me to explore the best method for us to do this. Lets start with US pre-paid, and then work out way to Europe.
There are many uses for TOR and Anonymization (mis?) software for mobile devices. As the threat of SOPA and PIPA and government firewalls continue to hold like gloomy clouds over America's conscious. We know that we must be prepared for when they turn the "internet off". Which they have already done during one protest that was organized by Anonymous. They shut down all cell sites in the BART station where the protest was happening, making coordination with the outside world impossible. The only way we will understand how we can be better prepared, is to start experimenting in the real world now. We can solve these problems. I want to solve them. Do you? We have to start somewhere, and before I and others can dev up a P2P bluetooth relay service of some sorts.. we need to get this done first.
I bet many of you are saying, "Simple beans".. and maybe so. but this simple project could mean the difference of people remaining free and people being in prison. I want guidance, and I would love feedback. This has become one of the most important projects in my life. I hope it may become one of yours.
So, any questions.. if not, then lets get to work and contact me! I would like to deliver this to #OWS by May 1st since I will be in NYC for May 1st General Strike.
Thanks, PM or reply if interested in helping out..
@Johnsin
you are on wrong forum in this forum you will not get more view just send pm to mods he will move to right place
Thanks.. will do. and we got movement on this..
We do a lot of Broadcast Media work including network & cable television, Digital Media and "Big Data" work. We need to add another Manual QA / Software Tester/Analyst to our existing team at ESPN. Ideally we'd like someone who has tested native & web apps on Android platform and has UI testing experience. This group will work heavily with the interactive television teams (Google TV, etc.) and will be responsible for the full QA life cycle within an Agile/Scrum environment. Any experience with “second screen” or social tv would be a plus. 6-12 mos contract. Must be US CITIZEN, GREEN CARD HOLDER or have already have EAD in hand. W2 only. No C2C or 3rd parties.
Wondering if you'd be interested in something like this? If not, please keep in mind that we always pay a referral fees... $1,000 each time we successfully place someone who's been referred to us.
Get back to me right away if you're interested. I'll share more details when we speak. Thanks.

We get numerous requests from companies looking to hire bright engineers and developers, and XDA has thousands of people of this caliber. With unemployment at record highs all across the world, we thought we'd do our part by connecting firms that are hiring, with people that might be interested in work.
Are these paid jobs?
Yes, all jobs are salaried positions.
How do I get my job posted here?
Email [email protected] from your corporate email address. Provide the job posting and location in a format similar to other listings in the forum. We will do our best to verify the validity of the job.
Please note: We provide this job board as a free service, and will not be involved in any of the hiring process.

2) 9. Don't get us into trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.
