I'm checking in the Nexus player section today because I picked up one this morning at a Frisco, TX Target for $24.98.

I also checked local inventory levels via brickseek.com, which seemed reasonably accurate (though it showed a $50 price, despite the lower in-store price).

The slickdeals thread has the details, but apparently most Targets do markdowns in electronics throughout the day on Mondays. So it's not surprising that you saw it for $50 yesterday.

Interesting, I went to one and called another here in El Dorado County (east of Sac). And both showed $50 still.
I actually used to work for Target. The one that I worked at were always done with markdowns by 10am, perhaps they are on a different schedule...

Yeah when I first heard I was skeptical because the website show'd $99, but then in the store it show'd $49, and then the clearance down to $25. I don't care how it got to $25, i'm just glad I got one!
Grabbed the final one in Brentwood MO. Did an inventory check at the store. Nothing available in the St Louis area.

in north texas as well. I went to Target in Allen off 75. It still showed $50 when the guy scanned it, but i told him my "friend bought one clearance at another target" and showed him the pic from slickdeals. He matched it for me....but only for 1. That was on Sunday afternoon. I need to go back and see if they finally marked the rest down. These would be good xmas gifts for my nerdy friends haha....my family wouldnt know what to do with these things.

Doesn't seem they are killing Android TV. I think it's possible they are releasing a new Nexus Player, Google usually doesn't announce hardware in advance. But who knows, we'll see in a few weeks.

Yea we do price match any local store with the device in stock...however the managers might have to look twice about taking a whole $200 off.
A friend of mine works at an ATT store. Its $479.99 off contract according to him
just talked to one of my best buys and they said that all I would need is an online document or printout of atts website with the non-commitment price and they will match it.

That shouldn't matter unless someone doesn't want to stick with their plan. I've been with t-mo forever and am not leaving until ATT devours up my contract. Sucks that's they're sold out, but it gives me time to sell my other phones so that I can buy it.

The phone costs $149 now in all AT&T stores and if ordered directly by AT&T
They reduced the price of their 2 current LTE phones (Vivid, Skyrocket) by $100 in LTE coverage areas. I do not live in an LTE area but my rep honored the discount, so I was able to get the Skyrocket for $149. I think she just fudged the zip code so the discount would show on the computer. I live about 3 hours away from San Antonio which has LTE coverage. Now I need an excuse to visit so I can test out LTE.
My area has them for $149 right now.
Do you guys think the price will drop any further in the near future?
Or is it likely to go back UP to the $250 it was originally priced at on release date?
Online & all the official stores and authorized retailers in my area that I called in my area had them for $249. I ended up purchasing mine for $149 using my Premier account.
If you are new to ATT or adding a line, you can get it for 50% off at 125 dollars. Although the discount says its online only, the ATT CS guy was awesome for me and did everything right there. Ended up paying 160 dollars for the phone and 3 accessories.

False. I live in an LTE area (Boston) and it is $249.99 for me online.
I ordered mine online. In my area, they wanted $249 for it. So, I started over and gave the website a zip code of 10532 (a market where it was being sold for $149). The order went through at that price point.
The phone hasn't shipped yet, but I don't foresee an issue.
All over Dallas and its suburbs the phone its selling for 249.99. I purchased mine @ Fry's for 149.99.

I also live in the Bay Area. When I went to check the AT&T web site for the phone, the price was $149 ($249 and a $100 rebate). The stores had exactly the same price.

I guess you guys got the shaft from the get go then. Strange they would not discount the phone in such a large city. All 3 LTE areas in Texas had the discount, for a few days anyway.
It never showed 149 in Atlanta and we have had lte since day 1

As of Sunday morning 11-20-2011, Houston Texas (LTE area) prices shows $149 when I log in to my upgrade options, and same price when not signed in just looking at pricing with new activation.
I'm trying really hard NOT to buy this phone. Keep telling myself to save the money, the prices might come down, and give Samsung/ATT time to work out any bugs this new device may have.
But I'm getting weak .... cant resist .... much ... longer..
I decided to buy a Nexus 5 (16GB version), in my country (Eastern Europe) it is about $625 (including standard 2 year warranty).
And one of my friends told me that he'll be visiting Japan, so I want to make him buy for me. If he can find one i estimated the price to be around $475 including the registration fee and taxes to my country, but I learned that the warranty would not be valid in my country. And my friend does not know too much about these devices.
So would it be worth the risk, or should i just buy from my country?

Well, it seems to come down to whether the two-year warranty is worth $150, which works out to $6.25/mo. I would say that's a pretty good deal.

Does anyone have any idea when the UK shipments will be going out? Has anyone preordered from Clove? I am US based and patiently waiting my shiny new S8+. It seems the US based orders have already started rolling out so hopefully we see some movement for the UK devices next week.

if you pre ordered from one of those suppliers you get the phone delivered to you 8 days early on 20th april. carphone give away a free sasmung wireless speaker as well which is kool.

Is it typical to get hit with import tax?
Just checked the most it would be is 1$ per value and item. So shouldn't really be an issue.
I'll get mine wednesday the 19th from Amazon (I live close to Turin Italy). With the best price option I'll pay 872€
I ordered from Clove too but they say ships on 04/28.
Just a heads up, if you ordered from Clover Tech they are stating they don't expect any stock until the 28th. Kinda sucks as I pre-ordered from them being in the US and all I didnt have much of a choice for the Eyxnos variant anyways. Other suppliers in UK are already shipping but it looks like Clover is not a supplier such as Very, Samsung themselves and carriers.

I ordered from very the day it when online but they have emailed me to say they are on track to deliver on the 28th no early deliveries from them it seems

thats odd i got a text saying my order is definitely scheduled for pickup from my local carphone warehouse on 21st. u talking about a clove order? as i said, only the sellers i stated have the stock early.

I've ordered from very.co.uk it says the 20th when ordered it soon changed to 28th as it now says online

I ordered from clove and was expecting a shipping email today, delivery next week. I didn't get an email today though. Looks like May 1 is a holiday in England....I got an email that they are closed Saturday thru Monday and will not be shipping anything else until Tuesday May 2.

I thought I was being smart and saving a hundred bucks....But I regret it.... If I could do it over I'd spend the extra money and buy from ebay, and have the device in my hands last week.
Edit:. On the bright side, the Immersive VR Bundle I got with my wife's device was just delivered...

Sorry to rub it in, but I received my Clove Monday. They shipped Friday. DHL got it across the pond over the weekend. But I did order it the date it was announced back in March and they charged my CC immediately. Unlocked bootloader, unlocked SIM. Works great on ATT. Loaded TWRP and one of the new custom ROMs.
