Kidigi Omni Case Compatible Dock (Type C) now available to order. - Nexus 6P Accessories

I know others were interested in Type C docking solutions since Qi Wireless is out, and someone brought this one up before.
http://www.kidigi.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=112#.ViUocvkViFk
It is actually available now for order though, $48. The Type C connector can be raised or lowered as needed for cases.
OVERVIEW
Features:
• Adjustable connector platform: compatible with protective case with different thickness.
• Charge your device.
• Sync with Computer.
• Flexible connector for easy undocking.
Model No : LC-UTC
For : OnePlus Two , Lenovo ZUK Z1, Google Nexus 6P , Google Nexus 5X , Microsoft Lumia 950, Microsoft 950XL
Certificates:
● CE &RoHS
Package Contents:
● Sync & Charge Dock
● User Manual
● Silicon Sticky Pad
Only thing is I'm not sure about how it actually would charge. It shows a few shots of a USB A to Micro USB cable, then a few of it with what looks like a physically attached cable.
Who's getting it to test it for me US?
http://www.gadgets4geeks.com.au/Kidigi-Omni-Case-Ready-Dock-with-USB-31-Type-C-for-Mobile-Phones
According to this one it maxes out at 2.4A

$48 bucks that a bit steep.
I'll wait for other options.

Second link has it for $39, some of their other retailers probably have it for cheaper. I'd pay that for a good dock, the TYLT VU was more expensive than that.

35 bucks is simply too much for what appears to be a plastic shell. At least with the ridiculously overpriced Vu they give you the means to power your device without having to steal a cable from elsewhere in your collection.

Actually, that is an Australian site, so it is $39 AUD which is around $29 USD.
Of course, you'll get killed on shipping...

Good points both, thanks.

Let us know how it works out. I don't think it will work with znaps and I'm a backer too. I didn't consider that when looking at these...
Damn.
The znaps adapters look kind of long and I think with the dock fully retracted it would still sit high and be unstable.

Waiting for RND to have theirs for purchase or when nakedcellphone carries them on ebay. Last year for the Nexus 6, RND had theirs available first, so I ordered from them. This exact dock was on AliExpress for bulk purchase and the USB connector had RND branding on it, so I'm sure it will be available soon as well.

It's another company that has docks. Actually they are the same docks.

It's actually on the American ebay priced @ £24.99, free shipping from China. Search "KiDiGi Omni Charger Cradle Desktop Dock for Smartphone with Type-C Charging Port". (Can't post hyperlinks yet as I'm still an XDA noob ) Ordered one myself from the UK.

Picked up on eBay for $25. They marked it shipped same day.

Let us know what you guys think when it comes in. I'm still interested in one of these but I'm willing to wait till I get one that charges fast enough.

I think that will mostly depend on what you plug it into. It doesn't come with the brick (at least its not included in the "Whats in the box" part). On Alibaba.com its rated at 1A @5V, on ebay its listed at 2A @5V. Its just a USB A to type C 2.0 cable, though so its going to charge at whatever your Type A power source is.
I won't be of much help to you as I'm not using this as a charger. I plug these docks into a USB 3.0 Hub that goes into my Mac Mini dev computer. My previous Kidigi/RND docks (same dock), didn't have the cable attached. These do. Can we modify it... probably. The other docks also had OTG support, which this one does not. I paid more for the Nexus 6 Docks though, and I never used the OTG port anyway.

Bah, you are a huge help to me.
Good points all around, some of the pictures I've seen of this one have attached cables, others show unattached cables. If it is unattached, I'm thinking 3.0A will work fine on it, they probably only tested with 2.4A chargers at max.
You know, like how the Micro SD card thing used to go? 32GB Micro SD capable, because that's the biggest one we could test with at the time.

I have just received my dock, and the Type A cable is wired straight into the dock.

This sounds like a good bedside dock, i'm not concerned with rapid charging while sleeping. That will free up my rapid charger for my living room or kitchen. Might have to consider this now. How long is the cable? 1m or 2m?

It is now listed on Amazon for $25.99

Panasonic TM101 Qi Charger - It works with auto-sensing feature

For all who are looking for a good wireless charger, I found this on ebay. There are currently 13 active listings, and the final price including shipping comes to nearly USD 70. It is apparently from Japan, and both economic and expedited shipping options are available. [ Lowest cost incl. expedited shipping I found was 73$ ]
It has the feature of automatically sensing where your device is so that there is no "no-charging even though placed on mat" issue that some charges are having.
Here are a few youtube videos of the charger :
Unboxing Panasonic TM101
Nexus 4 on the charger
Demonstration of the auto-sensing feature
Apparently, the device is available for a cheaper rate from Amazon Japan, which ships only within Japan for 40$ [ compared to 50-55 USD in ebay w/o shipping].
Here are a few images that I could find :

I was looking at these today on ebay. Looks nice and was wondering if it could charge two devices, but because the charging coil moves, it looks like it only charges only one device. But it does take a bit of real estate on ones desk or nightstand, but looks cool! The little orb that follows the phone to charge is nice! Those dag gone Japanese know how to market a product! LOL

Yeah, unfortunately doesn't charge two devices simultaneously. I like the looks, but it does occupy a lot of volume. Not sure whether I should wait for the official one, which would be quite smaller and shouldn't face the issues other chargers are having.
EDIT : Have updated my post with that info, to make it clear, for those who don't watch the video.
I have one of these by my bed and it works very well. Looks good to boot.
Oh hell, might as well order this too. $69 shipped via snail mail. This thing just looks too cool.

Extremely likely knowing Google. But still I don't want to be stuck in a situation where they announce it immediately after receiving my brand new charger, at say 80$. ( google charger's price). It's what happened to me with the bumper, bought so many cases for it, that I decided to cancel the last one (which I had ordered an hour back before the bumpers came back online)

It can't do two at simultaneously, but if you put two devices on it will charge one, then the coil will move and charge the other.

Unberrivable!!!!!!!
I have this charger too. I love that I can just set the phone anywhere and it charges. It even works through my TPU case.
The only downside is that when the battery is fully charged, it stops charging. That means at night it charges right away, and then when I go to get it in the morning it's down to ~85%. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the Google Now location stuff didn't suck so much juice during the night.

Just to clarify , that means it will charge in effect both devices placed on the charger? How frequently does the coil move? In effect, the charging speed is reduced to half, right? [though the amount of charge transferred in total probably remains the same].
Also, does the N4 become hot while charging?
Since i cant buy the cool Panasonic Smartphones from Japan to use here on T-mobile, I'll buy this!
Where is this manufactured? Just curious on it...hopefully not China..

I bought one (white + orange) and have been using it over the past week
Looks great, feels solid and well made, and comes in proper retail packaging! You are correct, it doesn't come with a power adapter, just two micro USB leads (one long and one short) to use with your own. I'm using a 2.1A supply and it charges the phone from empty in about the same time as AC charging (2.5 hours). LED on the front is green when powered up and goes blue when a phone is placed on it for charging. Putting the Nexus 4 on charge is easy as it doesn't seem to be that fussy about placement, just plonk it down just off centre (towards the lower half where I'm guessing the phones receiver must be). The pad is not much wider than the phone itself so there's very little room to get it wrong!
The coloured ring around the top not only looks good, but its made of a tacky rubbery material, so the Nexus 4 doesn't slide about once you place it down (this is the reason I chose to go for this over the LG charger)
So far, no complaints at all! I didn't see the point of wireless charging before using it, I just bought it to have a play and to see how the tech works but I'm now a convert - I've been that impressed by this charger I've just ordered another :good:
Now only $9.15 (including shipping). look forward to some reviews.
edit. my mistake, $9.15 was the price for the receiver only (for those that need one).
It was 9.15 USD initially but turned 22.97 USD immediately after I click None at the receiver type box.
i just bought one hope it works well

They mention this is a 2nd generation qi charger.. might just be marketing bull****. They mention it has a built in temperature sensor and will react when your phone gets too hot. I just ordered one in black with a green ring(for android), we'll see how it does
Anyone know if this will fit in the LG smart fit2 cradle? They seem to be a similar size.

Fake and real fast wireless charger, beware!

This thread is for those to be aware of fake ones out there.
So I bought the fast wireless charger off eBay, shipped from China, for under $20. I already had an idea that it's most likely a fake, but I had some eBay bucks to spend.
So pretty much everything is different from the real and fake one, except the overall dimension is the same. The fake is much lighter, almost half the weight difference. The micro USB port is on the opposite side, no fan inside, the touch of the material is different as well. The "Samsung" and "fast charge" words are darker and bigger too, but you probably won't be able to tell unless you have the real one next to it.
Conclusion, if the price is too good to be true then it probably is. I've seen some around $12 on eBay, using stock pictures, don't waste your time and money, although eBay would most likely refund you if the stuff is fake.
Pics below, left one is real.

Oh right, forgot about the most important thing. It does charge, but not at all fast, just regular speed. I didn't charge it for too long though, just a few minutes, didn't wanna risk damaging my phone or battery. I'll probably not use it again.

Oh right, forgot about the most important thing. It does charge, but not at all fast, just regular speed. I didn't charge it for too long though, just a few minutes, didn't wanna risk damaging my phone or battery. I'll probably not use it again.

You could just put your phone on charging and it would say "Fast Wireless Charging" instead of "Wireless Charging". Atleast that's what my Fast Wireless Charger does, I'm not using the Samsung one though!

Not in my case, it will specify whether it is fast wireless charging or not. I just tried the fake one again and it says "wireless charging", then I tried the real one and it says " fast wireless charging".

Hi, a quick question! Can somebody confirm that the genuine fast charger works with Spigen SGP Neo Hybrid CARBON case?
I just figured out that I bought the fake one (box on the right photo). But tbh, it does charge and it charges fast! The phone says it is connected to a wireless *fast* charger and charging is almost as fast as plugging the phone to the original fast charger provided.
Important to note that it didn´t come with a fast charger, just the wireless base. I had to buy a fast charger to plug it to the energy. If I use the wireless charger with a regular charger to power it, it says it is wireless charging, but not "FAST".
Oh, almost forgot: although it came in the box to the right, the back is like the one to the left.

Not so easy for me Paypal says they will contact the seller. I will have to pay postage to ship back to seller..IF they uphold my claim. I paid 46.00 and charger wont even work with a case on my s6e+
Just wanted to update you, in case you haven't got your charger yet. I used it for a week and then returned it. I'm not sure if it's the case or a defective charger, but I returned it because it would randomly stop charging overnight. Even then, I had to put it on the pad, pick it up, and put it down again before it would start charging.
update

Any recommendations for a screen protector? Needed?
A few options can be reviewed also on Samsung's official Note 7 accessories page:
http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-note7/accessories/
My only concern with these recommendations is the phone only supports up to Quick Charge 2.0, so while you can definitely use these chargers you will not see the benefit of Quick Charge 3.0 over 2.0 and these accessories may cost a few extra dollars for a feature we cant use. Other then that its a good suggestions post, I like these and may end up buying a few

Snapdragon notes should definitely have 3.0
Snapdragon 820 processor has the capability but Samsung disabled the feature on the Note 7 due to the Exynos Processors not supporting qc 3.0. They do not want 1 segment of users having a capability and another not. So QC 2.0 is what we have.
Only a few models currently support QC 3.0, most notably the LG G5, that I am aware of. I'm sure their are others not mentioned but you get the point.

I thought I read somewhere that it doesn't support qc 3.0, but it still charges at almost the same rate.
Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
That might be accurate if it was supported to charge like QC3. 0 but it will not as they disabled that capability for this release. We must settle for QC 2.0 aka Adaptive Fast Charging.

Do you have experience with these cases? The price is fantastic but I'd be wary, I got a cheap case for my current phone because I didn't really care as it's budget but still kind of regret it. Would love to know what you think!

I'll post my 2¢ review as soon as it arrives.
As long as the fit is snug, without any gapping or side pull, it should provide decent protection.
It'll be interesting to see how well the NOTE 7's Gorilla Glass 5 holds up.....

Best Wireless Portable Charger?

I'm seeing some on Amazon with super suspect reviews. Like, one of them has 99% 5-star reviews. Come on, dude...
Can y'all share some LEGIT portable wireless chargers? Preferably some with REAL fast charging.
I have ordered this one.,
QI wireless charger, 20000mAh, price around 35 US$.
Can tell you more in a couple of days, should I get in the next days (has unfortunately around 4 weeks delivery time).

got it now. Works more as OK for this price. Can charge also if the device is in the cover. The HW looks professional. QI charging with stand works only if you put the phone horizontal on the stand , but this is ok. Think was a good deal. Shippment needs 3 weeks.
After some weeks using I can say it was a very good deal. Works perfect with my Note 9 on travel. I can really highly recommend this QI charger. Use it on my business trips including powerpoint presentations in combination with an little HDMI adapter and on the evening to view Netflix videos in the hotel.
I don't want miss it anymore...
I've got to get that!
I think using the descriptor “best” is relative. What may work for one may not work for another.
Take this product:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077QRXLF6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
10000mah battery pack, usb 3 ports, qi standard. Display shows exact charge numerically. Even shows the voltage coming in and voltage going out of the ports and what the qi is sending out.
There is a led ring that shows light white when charging and dark blue when charged.
I like these so much I bought 3 for the 3 notes i have.
EDIT: does charge them with the samsung military grade case for the note 9 series as seen in the photos (may be hard to see the actual case but both units have the case on )
They look pretty cool. The light looks a little too bright though? Also, the top surface looks quite slippery?

Does look cool, I like the bright light, but I'd definitely want it to be optional, you wouldn't want that next to your bed when trying to sleep haha.
And yeah that super smooth surface does look like the phone would easily slide off, although it would be negated by a case that had some grip.
Not sure what happened, might just be a temporary thing, but it's currently unavailable?
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
That’s why i said not one product can be “best”.
I’m sure this is not designed to sit next to your bed at night. Its mostly aimed at people on the go /traveling.
The light ring is not bright. In a darkened room it will be noticeable, sure.
The top surface has plastic (shipping plastic). You can remove this plastic overlay as you see fit
Ive had these for about 3 weeks. I have used them 2-3 times per week (just to test on the charge times) and am very happy with the product price point and features.
You can also charge the product up whilst charging a qi enabled device (pass thru charging)
Does anyone make a car phone cradle holder with inbuilt wireless charger?
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
Lots of people do wireless charging cradles for cars - I have an iOttie, two QiFulls and (my favourite - so good that I bought 3 of them), Samsung's own one.
https://www.samsung.com/uk/mobile-accessories/s-charger-vehicle-dock-hn910/
Of course you are right, but for me personally is size and power (20000mah) decisive. And some small things like the vertical stand, the non slippery surface and the size (like the phone itself) seem to be thought-out....

^^^ thats why there are more options out there because not everyone has the same feature requests. I don’t particualry like portable upright chargers and the fact I have 3 of these means the 10 000mAh X3 (30000mAh? ) wlli be plenty. And if they are not, i have two portable power banks.
The product i listed here is just another option in the mix... not trying to steal thunder away from any one product..

The last thing I needed was yet another power bank (I have a couple of really hefty one - 26,800 mAh from Zendure and 30,000 mAh from iMuto - as well as a whole raft of smaller ones given away free at various trade shows), but none of them do wireless so I had to get one of these as well.
Ordered it on amazon.de and it arrived here in the UK in a couple of days. Initial impressions are favourable. It charges my Note 9 even in its Spigen Tough Armor case, and I like the ability to have the phone at an angle. It also seems to do passthrough (i.e. wireless charge the Note 9 while also being charged itself).
There's a USB-C socket for input (haven't tested whether it can also be used as an output) as well as MicroUSB in and 2 x USB A outputs.
yes, is no bad

Well, getting bogged down with semantics is a waste of time. I think most of us generally agree that when we say "best" we're implying that the product performs as expected and that it suits most of our needs/wants.
That charging pad you shared looks promising but it sucks that it's no longer available on Amazon. I hope more OEMs jump into this portable wireless charging game. We need more options, that's for sure.

I feel you on this. I'm down to two right now. One big one with enough amps to charge my laptop quick enough and a smaller Anker one for everything else. I want to replace the Anker one with a wireless one. Less cables to carry around.
