Hello. I have VEGA IRON A870 use CM12.1 and Xperia M2 use stock 5.1.1.
With A870, when I swipe quick setting and tap the location icon, it show 3 options: high aculary, battery saving, only device.
But with M2, it just location on/off. How can I do the same like A870?
My English is not good, so sorry about that.

You just answered yourself
Because that's a Cyanogen Add-on. AOSP doesn't have that 3 options menu. To do that, tap and hold, and it'll show you all location settings, or just go to Settings -> Location.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but where is the gps settings/toggle? For the life of me I can't find it. I just wanted to turn off the gps, to see if my battery life would get any better.

I choose battery saver unless I'm navigating.

go to your quick settings (notification center, icon to the right (where wifi, settings and battery are located) and there you see a location icon. pres it once to go to the location settings, long press for activate/deactivate. (it sure as hell switches location and therefore gps off, but if you are connected to wifi it gets the location from there)

no gps toggle in nexus 5 ((
Hello guys,
Wow, this is a bit of a pain.
In the past you could still have some location accessing when your gps was off, and one quick tap in notifications would toggle it. Now it seems you have to go to a menu. The notification toggle widgets Ive tried do not toggle the "Location Mode", which is what I would like... the way it used to turn GPS off was to change location mode from High Accuracy to Battery Saving.
Odd how on occasion features like this are changed for the worse... almost like some engineer thought it a good idea, but isnt someone whe wants to goggle gps quickly and easily, like when driving!!

If you are rooted you can use gravity box to add the old gps icon in the quick settings panel.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
I am rooted, and I do have a notification widget which has the old icon, but it either does nothing, or takes me to the setting where I still have to choose which mode of location detecting i want to use...
What is gravity box, it seems to be a game

cheers

Solution found!
Hello guys,
Ok, so if you are rooted:
1/ Install Notification Toggle (and customise it to have the toggles you want, including GPS)
2/ install /system/app mover
3/ run system app mover and choose to convert Notification Toggle to a system app.
you reboot your phone and now you can toggle the gps between High Accuracy and Battery Saving... EXACTLY as it was in the past.
Whew.
Mark.

Gravity box is a module that works with the xposed framework.

On a rooted phone power toggles will give you a direct gps toggle without any faffing about, other than granting it root access.
If you are not rooted you can use the stock android "power control" widget. It changes the mode from high accuracy to battery saving with one click. I'm waiting for power toggles to update!

I'm on a low end PAYG tariff so manually turn data on / off over 3g. The Moto G doesn't seem to have a quick way of doing this and quick settings don't appear to be customisable... ? Unless anyone knows different ?
Press the signal icon in quick settings.

stock android is like that on every phone
you must use power toggles from play store, or exposed framework and some modules

This takes you to the menu to then toggle it..... I've come from a HTC where you can just toggle via the icon in quick settings since my first android back in the day HTC Legend. I guess thats part of Sense and I'll need to use a 3rd party app. It just feels like such a basic feature though coming from a non-stock android experience.
Swipe with two fingers from the top then tap the network button(middle one), then tap "mobile data"
Thanks all
You could also use widgetsoid from the playstore.
One tap customisable toggles in notification area.
you could also use gravitybox together with xposed to override system default toggle behavior for some toggles (wifi, bt, data, etc)

Uh.. you don't even need Xposed/custom ROM for data in quick settings? It's already a tile isn't it?

Carrier tile IS data tile. ._.
Long press it if you're on 100% stock, or use GravityBox to change it so that it switches around long and short press actions. Custom ROMs usually have it switched around already.

Long pressing carrier toggle takes you to mobile data usage tab where you can enable/disable data
Why not use power toggles?

So you don't need to go to settings and toggle, right? In that case, most of the custom rom's has that feature by default. For example, PA has it by default.

Unfortunately long press doesn't work on that tile with stock functionality. Would be nice though, not like it'd be confused with switching off the voice network since that isn't actually possible without going into airplane mode anyways.

Hi Guys,
Till a recent reboot I had the possibility to double tap on the screen to "turn on" the screen.
All gestures work on the screen at the moment (V - circle - two fingers - next / previous song) except for screen on.
Is there a setting that I accidentally used?
Any thoughts?
Tnx
Check: settings > display &led scroll down to advanced option "double tap to..."
Should manage that problem
Geri.st
Settings -> Display -> Gestures -> Double tap.
If you use a kernel other than stock, ensure that the option is enabled as well (they're enabled by default on kernels)

So many customizations that you get lost ... its great having options to customize your phone the way you want it to be though.
Enjoy.
Does the Xperia 5 have tap-to-wake functionality? This is something that I dearly miss on my current XZ1 Compact.
Yes, and you can turn it on and off like you want. Side-Sense is also nice...
Where is it in settings?
Thanks for your response. I'm seeing conflicting reports about tap to wake being available on the xperia 5. Some people say yes, some say no.
Is it a side-sense feature or is there actually a menu item under something like Settings > Display > Lockscreen?
