So I have/had a rooted Xperia z3v D6708 and tried flashing http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development/d6603-23-1-1-28-t3102271/ using TWRP recovery and everything seemed to go fine. I rebooted my phone after the flash but nothing happened. I tried booting into recovery again to try and restore my phone but nothing happened. I tried plugging it into my computer and it just vibrates every 2 seconds while flashing red then immediately green. This leads me to believe its not bricked so I downloaded the stock firmware using flashtool and tried flashing it onto the phone but when it gets to the part when it asks me to put my phone into flash mode by holding the vol down and plugging it in I do that but nothing happened. I also tried fast boot mode and that seems to work because the phone stops vibrating and the light turns solid blue but there is still a black screen and my computer stays at the screen instructing me to put the phone in fast boot mode so it never recognizes the phone. What should I do?
P.S. flashtool never recognizes the phone when I connect it but it does say this
17/009/2015 14:09:29 - ERROR - Drivers need to be installed for connected device.
17/009/2015 14:09:29 - ERROR - You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool.
I tried installing the drivers for my device along with the ones for flashing and fast boot but it didn't work...
Someone please help me!
Tried a full restore with the Sony PC companion? Usually at least gets you out of a soft brick if nothing else is working. Good news is that it's pretty hard to hard brick a sony phone when you're just flashing roms, so your phone is probably fine. I had trouble with the flashtool drivers actually installing because of Win8/10 driver stuff, so that might also be your problem if you're on those OS's. You might want to look into disabling 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement' and trying again to make sure.
Google the disable driver thing he mentioned ^ I had the same issue and for future reference you can't flash any roms, you can only flash roms in the z3v sections, sound mods and other things like that should be fine to flash

I don't know if this question has been asked a lot. But i had a problem after installing a custom ROM. I installed the custom ROM using x recovery menu. It said something about kernel error. So i rebooted after that and the boot screen loads till the sony ericcson logo and it dims the screen a bit and freezes there. I cant even access the xrecovery menu. Nothing works from there. I have to remove my battery to switch it off. I tried using flash tool. I press the back button after connectiing the usb cable in flash tool flash mode. It detects the device in flash mode and says some error and says to disconnect. After the device is detected in flash mode the device start automatically and again freezes at the sony ericsson logo screen. Please tell me if this can be fixed. Or do i have to give it to the SE service centre?
same problem here .any help ?someone?
Was the ROM even designed for your phone?
I'd go as far to say as you may be screwed, if you can't even boot into recovery.
When I semi-bricked my phone and got it stuck on the boot logo, I had to hunt for 2 hours for it's stock firmware to flash through odin, because nandroid is stupid and the phone still didn't work after restoring the so-called "complete backup" that I had it make.
So basically, you can't boot into recovery, and when you go into download mode to flash through Odin it doesn't work? I'd try Odin again and follow the required steps exactly, because if your phone starts to boot, it should work, and I think you should actually be able to get into recovery.
i resolved with an older version of flashtool (FlashTool_0.2.9.1) which i found it here in the forum on a tutorial.thanks anyway
use SEUS
Hello, no need to return to Sony Ericsson warranty.
Just use SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) or a PC Companion, i think it works with all of the xperia phones, but im not sure.
Go to google, type "sony update service" without qutes, select 1.st result, click download.
TIP:If you have problems getting to recovery mode, then take out the battery, plug in USB cable, hold back key, insert battery, still hold the back key until the utility says so or there a notification light
The link is for X1 , but it should work. But remember, before you ask a question, search it up first, there are several tutorials out there.

Hi Guys,
I am quite new to custom ROM's and the idea of rooting, however I was using SP Flash tools to wipe the flash storage of my device after a rather serious boot loop. Now I can see that this was not the best of ideas. Firstly I tried flashing TWRP again, but this did not fix the issue so I decided to format the whole flash. During this process SP Flash tools unexpectedly crashed. This resulted in the interrupt of the process and has left my phone practically dead. I can not get anything from the screen like recovery mode. Even after very long button presses of the power switch. To try and rectify this, I downloaded the Umi Super custom ROM and loaded it into SP Flash tools. However when I press download, there is no response and it does not even begin to download let alone flash. I have left it on for about 15 minutes with no response. I have also tried unplugging it and holding the volume buttons down in different combinations. Although this may seem as though the device has boot loader issues and can no longer communicate, I don't believe this is the case. Because when I plug the device in and out of my computer it recognizes it and loads the correct drivers for the device. Therefore there must be some sort of communication between my device and the computer.
I have used SP flash tools in the past with this phone and it has never had issues. I have also tried reinstalling the drivers and moving to a different PC. Even changing USB cable, but no luck. I am using the latest versions of all the software.
I really hope someone may have an idea and I would really appreciate it.
Thank you again,
James
Hi !
A good thread for your issue can be found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/umi-super-guide-firmwares-roms-kernel-t3396662
Good luck !
Maybe this has been solved before but so far I haven't found a solution to my OPO Hardbrick and I really need of your help. I tried flashing resurrection remix to my OPO and I guess it went wrong, I tried restoring my backup and it didn't work so I decided to factory reset it which deleted the rom. Now, I have used several tool kits and they all seem to have not worked, it only removed my custom recovery (TWRP) and replaced it with the Cyanogen Recovery, now my phone doesn't even turn on, its all black and vibrates, I am able to use the tool kits using the volume up and power button, but no fastboot, any solutions? Thank you so much
Ok, first step is not to panic and don't do crazy stuff and go over logically. There is no help in starting to flash stuff when your pc doesn't properly connect to your phone.
Does your pc recognize the phone when you insert the USB port after you placed it in the vol+ and power on mode (fastboot)? If yes the device should be seen in the device manager as a android or usb thing.
Check with skipsoft toolkit if you see the device with adb. Do you see any number?
Don't panic here is the solution

Like the other people are saying, don't worry, it's probaly not that big of a deal. I had this before. Try booting into fastboot mode and reflash TWRP recovery using the method showcased in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZaajUEybNM (you need to skip through it a little). Make sure you have all the proper drivers installed on your computer.
The phone doesn't go into fastboot, but it is recognized by my computer as QU something with a q, with the qualcomm drivers, I have managed to only let it be recognized via tool kits, It doesn't go into fastboot or anything. I have tried the ColorOS toolkit but apparently its more succesful if I try it on an XP computer. Whenever I hold the power and Volume Up the Phone vibrates and is recognized by the tool kit
Background: Rooted phone with SuperSU and TWRP. I am very unknowledgeable when it comes to everything programming wise.
Yesterday SuperSU got an update. I installed it like I have before, and rebooted. My phone got stuck in a boot loop, in that it would go past the Sony screen and into the animation, but then reboot. I still had access to TWRP, so I tried doing some reading and attempted to flash a new ftf onto my phone using Flashtool. It didn't work, and now my phone was stuck at the screen that says Sony and Xperia. Next I tried using fastboot to flash boot.img and system.img onto my phone. It worked and my phone booted into a very generic looking OS. However next I tried flashing an updated tft onto it - This caused it to not boot at all, and instead get stuck on a screen that shows only Sony. I was able to use fastboot to push a TWRP image onto my phone, so now I can (occasionally) enter TWRP. However, despite pushing version 3.0.2.0 onto it, it says it has version 2.7.2 installed, meaning I cannot install image files from within the recovery. I cannot enter fastboot either, as when I try to it just gets stuck on the Sony screen again. I'm currently charging the phone, as I believe this might be the issue, but if anything has any idea what I should do, please help. I've read about flashing a system.sin file, however when I can't actually get fastboot working, no solutions seem tenable to me.
Like I said, I'm pretty much illiterate in this area, so don't go too fast on me please.
One more thing I should mention, when plugged in my phone will enter the Sony screen and get quite hot, even if I turn it off by holding in the power and volume up buttons, so I'm fearing it's not even charging.
You need to hold power on and volume up buttons together until phone completely turns off.
Get a firmware and put it in flashtool firmware folder ("C:\Users\XXXYOURNAMEXXX\.flashTool\firmwares") use a sony usb cable and hold the volume down before and whilst inserting the cable when prompted on flashtool.

I did that, trying to flash a new firmware to try and fix the boot loop is what made the problem worse. After I tried that the phone wouldn't go past the Sony screen.
EDIT: I think I'm making progress. I had made the mistake of downloading firmware for Xperia Z3 compact. After getting the correct firmware, the phone has now booted and is showing the android robot as during a firmware update.
Thought I'd add that I got my phone working again. Turns out I had been trying to put a Z3 compact firmware onto it. found the right firmware, flashed it with flashtool and it's working just fine now. Might be a good idea to keep the thread open for others who are doing the same mistake?
So here is what happened, I installed TWRP on my device and completely wiped my phone so I can install bootleggers OS and Gapps on my Pixel 2 Walleye. But I accidentally booted into Boot slot B on twrp and now the only thing the device can boot into is the bootloader mode, recovery and download mode is completely useless, It gives me either operation denied error or Error slot unbootable. The worst part is no computer will recognize my pixel in device manager at all. Mac computer will not detect it either. Ant tips on how to fix this? And again my I have all drivers installed and platform tools are up to date. And devices bootloader is unlocked.
Anything helps!

Did you use the same USB cable each time? If yes try different ones, even if it seems to work with other devices. On your PC go to device manager, then view and then hidden devices. Remove anything that has to do with Android. Then try connecting your device. Does an andriod driver show up after you've connected your device?
I have tried 3 different cables. But will try another one

Did you go to view, hidden files in device manager and delete all Android drivers? And if you did, did anything show up after connecting your device?
I am having a similar issue after trying to flash the March update. During the script, the System image failed to transfer completely. I tried again using deuce flash all script, and it got a little further (4/5) with the System image but ultimately failed. Things got worse when my computer stopped recognizing the phone. Now I can't even try anything else because there is no communication, similar to OP. I have tried three different computers, three different cables, and have tried deleting Android related drivers in the device manager. No luck, unfortunately. I tried installing USB drivers from Google which also did not help. I welcome any other ideas of what to try next and appreciate any help.
EDIT: I solved the problem by draining the battery completely. In order to drain the battery, I first left the barcode screen on until eventually just the battery image is displayed on-screen when pressing power. Then eventually there will not be enough power to light up the screen at all, but the LED indicator will blink red while holding the power button. Now, I set up my phone such that the power button was held pressed down and left it there until the LED stopped blinking. Now that the power is completely drained, I could successfully get my computer to recognize it! I followed the steps in this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78726736&postcount=13
EDIT2: I should also note that the system image didn't flash successfully the first time and I had repeat step 12 which is flashing the update. Luckily it worked the second time!
I had something similar happen. Held down power for about 10 seconds or so until the phone vibrated, then it was recognised by the computer. Then flash stock image
