Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
Unfortunally no, you can't do this thing with an app or in any other way.
But if your phone was without a SIM card then it should be a carrier bought one, so if you broke your phone and you bought it from a carrier shop like for example T-Mobile AT&T etc... You can ask to transfer your phone number and use it on a new SIM card. This thing can be done in my country so i don't know how the things work in yours, but you can always try to see how it goes.
Good luck!

Need help please att sim card from straight talk need cheap phone

I read on this forum that the at&t sim card from straight talk would work for my unlocked phone only to find out that it wouldn't and now my number is ported to straight talk and I have no phone to use it for. I went to at&t store today and they plugged in my sim card and it asked for 17 digit number i think and he said it wouldn't work and I was just googling it and it seems like unlocking a cheap phone from the at&t store would work. This is very frustrating for me because I can't just call at&t and ask what there cheapest phone is and google it to see if it can be unlocked and will work because I have no phone and I also can't go to the store and simply google the phone product number to see if will work because I have no phone. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I really need help I'm very stressed out can someone help me? is there a store I can buy a phone from that will work?
What kind of phone did you put the Sim card in? Maybe you put the AT&T Sim into a phone that only uses T-Mobile bands.

[Completed] Verizon LG G Vista; does it already have an unlocked SIM slot?

My friend recently got this phone but had never used it. I have an account with Ting and the imei checked out just fine, they said with one of their SIM cards it would work on their network no problem. I have 2 questions;
1.since no SIM has been activated on this phone with any carrier dies that have any bearing in it being kicked out not?
2. A brand new sim card came in the phone, again never activated. Is there a reason why that SIM card I'd number count just be attached to my thing account? I thought that they just tore that number in and connect it to the appropriate account n I'm confused in why what logo is on it matters.
Thank you in advance for any help or insight that gets sent my way and I appreciate everyone's patience if my questions seem silly or dumb. I am legit confuse though,

Unfortunately there is not much about your exact device on xda.
I found this thread: [Q] LG G Vista - Root Request by ClassickWORLD.
If you register on xda, you can post in this thread or in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Hopefully you will get better help there :fingers-crossed:

[Completed] How do i unblock my Samsung s7580 after it was being blocked in Turkey?

Hello everybody.
Thing about Turkey is that when you take your phone from abroad to here, after two months of using the SIM card you bought in Turkey, the phone cant be connected to network.
So i was rooting my phone, changing its IMEI and it didnt work. I also was thinking that it is about the SIM card, that the operator is making the network for phone unavailable,
but SIM card works fine in other "registered" phones. I once have paid around 100 dollars to unlock my Alcatel, and i figured out that everything is being done through software,
you dont leave your phone, they dont touch it, you just pay and give the IMEI of the phone you want to register and prevent it from blocking. Now i am thinking that the best solution was
to change the IMEI on time, and get additional two months with new IMEI. But this is just my modest logic.
I am really wondering what is this about? What do you think about this?
And is it possible to for me to do it by my own without giving away 100 $?
Thanks
Semir

You did not mention about the exact device model.
However there is a general forum for android here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help where you can get better help and support if you try to ask over there.
Good luck.

Buying Unlocked Phone

I currently use a Motorola Atrix HD cell phone . The Android version is 4.1.1 and it will not update to a newer version. It is probably 4 years old at least. I want to get a newer phone but really was trying to avoid signing another 2 years contract with AT&T so wondered if I bought an unlocked phone that is AT&T compatible, can I just move the SIM card to the new phone and then use it as my new phone? I am older, 75, and need help with this decision. I don't need a phone with all the bells and whistles, just a basic smart phone to call, text, do email and other basic online functions. I did go to Best Buy and selected one of their unlocked phones but my SIM card would not fit the new phone so had to cancel that. Any help, comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Switching your current AT&T SIM card to another unlocked phone will work. There are a few things to watch out for:
1. Don't forger to somehow transfer your contacts to your new phone. This can be done with Google account sync or (easier) you could export your contacts from your phone to your SIM card.
2. There are multiple SIM card sizes (as you notices). There is standard size sim, micro sim and nano sim. Make sure your SIM size is compatible with your phone. If it's too big or too small go to AT&T and ask for a different size SIM card. Just don't ever use SIM adapters. They can break the phone's SIM tray permanently.

Thanks Janekmuric. I'll have to take out my SIM card and see what type it is. Also will try to see if there is a way on my phone to put my contacts on my SIM card. So moving my SIM card to a new phone (assuming it fits) will then enable me to begin to use that phone as my normal phone. I just can't believe it's that easy and that AT&T won't have their claws in there for some kind of fee or charge. I'll have to look for a phone then and want to try to get one that is at least version 6, I think that's Marshmallow. I've seen a number of these on Amazon that are unlocked and compatible with AT&T and not very expensive. I just need as I said earlier a basic smart phone to do calls, text, email and some basic internet. I do not do streaming or use my phone for music and all that.

Good luck with finding a new phone. You can use GSMArena Phone Finder to find a phone you need. You put in what you want from the phone, what android version you want, what battery capacity, price, size and so on, and it returns a list of phones that fall into that category.
Samsung Galaxy J7 is good for what you need. It's responsive, fast, stylish and costs 220 USD on Amazon.com
