[Windows RT 8.1] Development Tool V3.0 BUILD XXXX - Windows RT Development and Hacking

[Windows RT 8.1] Development Tool V3.0 BUILD XXXX
This project is deprecated and no longer actively maintained as of 1st July 2019.
Deprecation of the Development Tool
Dear folks,
After almost three years, we finally came to an end. As of today, 1st July 2019, this project is deprecated and no longer actively maintained. Why? Simply because I do not own a Windows RT device anymore. I replaced it with a Surface Pro (2017) and I am very very happy with the replacement.
The last version of the Development Tool, which can be found here (and of course the GitHub page about the tool).
If there is anything, feel free to contact me.
Kind regards,
VNNGYN
P.S. I really want to thank @Qiangong2 for all his help. Without him, this project would have never existed.

The Infected Updates have been listed here.

[Windows RT 8.1] Applications
The list of applications ported to Windows RT 8.1 has been moved to GitHub.

For some reason after going to test signing mode I could not run the Perl package that was release some days ago. To make it work I hard to resign the dll and exe with my own certificate.
I'm making it available here:
Perl 5.12.4 A versatile programming laguage. Download

I quickly made a script to sign apps a bit easier, simply copy it to the apps folder, right click and run it as admin, it creates a .cer, searches and signs all dlls and exes in the dir and sub dirs.
Ensure you have your path set for Windows Kits bins
ie
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\bin\x64
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.1\bin\x64

Just want to say thanks. I'm a noob and no idea how to sign software, and have 0 patience on trying to find out. Waited 2 years for this thing to be JB'd and finally it's done, thanks to Myriachan as well. The feeling is like that time I went from WP8 back to Android.

Thank you very much! Very useful.

It could be nice to compile every emulator for each retro consoles to enhance gaming on Windows RTs devices.
Maybe I'm dreaming too much, but running a Dreamcast emulator on it would be epic !

does it possible to install Linux on my Qtek S200?

i'm trying to find any information about subject?
I guess it's possible to compile a linux-kernel for similar device.
Thank's for any information.
Check out this page in the Wiki section of this site:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Xanadux
Once you have installed it though, do any apps actually support linux?
I think its more of a "I can do this look!" thing than one that offers any practical benefit.

Well, it's pretty cool to get access to shell and programming languages like a Perl, C. And helpful to controll my Unix servers&services.

which of them is mine? i guess it should be named like a Prophet? but there's no such section.
PS: beg pardon, i'm newbie in that subject. i use my device only about one week
I dont think a newbie should be installing linux on their device. You will find you can run linux programs but not actual pocket pc apps. It really is only for the hardcore linux zeolots.

There's a nice little project for you...build a Xanadux (Linux) kernel for the Prophet....

hm, interesting ... is there windows binary emulation on linux? like a Wine or something?
It is possible... The Prophet's hardware is similar to the Wizard's. So you can boot the Kernel of the Linwizard-Project and, if you are a programmer, help the project ;-).

It will be possible to port the dynamic linker/loader from wine to wince,
and write a replacement coredll.dll from win32 finctions implemented in wine.
Since wince is implemented in a much cleaner way than usual windows,
running wine on linux-arm is easier than on linux-x86.

Jarr. Maybe some people want to run an inherently insecure, memory leaking and royalty money squeezing environment on their computer ? I don't.

Building itsutils.dll from source

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to build the XDA utils tree and itsutils.dll from source in order to play around with it a bit, but have had no luck so far. I've searched through all the forums, but couldn't find anything about building the toolset, only how to develop for actual mobile devices.
I got the source tree for the xda utils project, but the instructions on how to build them (here) are not very clear. What software do I need to have installed? Which libraries? Do I need to install an embedded version of the STL? Where can I find the "preview editions" of Platform Builder 3.0 and 4.0 in order to get the header files?
I'm running Windows XP 32-bit (I also have a 64-bit machine, though I doubt that'll make it any easier), and have installed VS 2005, the Windows Mobile 6 SDK, and eMbedded VC 4.0.
I'd really appreciate any advice or help.
Thanks in advance,
Rob

How to import projects from Github in Eclipse galileo

Yeah yeah how do u do that I am trying to get into developeing.. and this google cyan really got me more pumped to learn cuss If google gets really crazzy I wana be able do my own rom please pro devs help...
If you're looking into ROM development, Eclipse isn't going to help much, you're gonna need a *nix machine (OS X works as well) to build android from the source.
source.android.com
as for eclipse, i'm kinda in the same boat, i can create new projects, but can only import by copy and pasting *every* file.

I'm try to import loccy's betterbrowser for android via github, but following litterally the instrunction for the Egit plugin (http://github.com/guides/using-the-e...in-with-github), Galileo lost some dependecies and fail the import.
If download the sources manually and import into a workspace via "filesystem" import, Eclipse will import well, but all activities were lost. I'm not a java hardcoder, i really don't know where is the problem
yeah yeah

Start here:
http://source.android.com/download
I think I've got that working. Then you can grab Cyanogen's source or just patch the browser in the standard AOSP tree.
Warning, the build takes a while.
there is supposedly a way to edit the source in eclipse but you can't compile in eclipse. No one i've talked to has been able to actually get eclipse to work for building roms and all use the old school way via terminal. I was able to go from a freshly formatted linux netbook to having cyans source build where I can make edits within a day, that included building the original source. Once you have it done once it's easier the next time around

Compiling Bochs for android

HI guys! I need help with compiling Bochs for android, Bochs is a virtual machine that emulates diffrent Operating systems on android such as windows 98,XP and many others!
Korv2003 compiled bochs 2.5.1 for android back in 2008 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389700
but no one has compiled it since then and we are not getting any new versions out. Me and alot more would be extremely glad if someone that knows how to compile these files could compile the new Bochs versions 2.6.1 and beyond, for android!
The newer versions are both faster and have more features! So please anyone that knows how to do this help out !

Bump
it seems that no one is interested in this project. i'd love to see any new version because the 2.5.1 out there is really out of date and slow as hell. i've read that newer versions are speed up to 50%. i can't understand why no1 tries to port version 2.6.6 to android.

I can take a crack at it. I'm not a pro at porting apps. I just recently learned how so don't hold your breath. I will give it the ol' college try though

Did you manage to do it?
Hopefully someone will post the latest version..
It's already been done. Check here, you can compile it yourself. There's a build file for each operating system and instructions for android in the Android folder. Not my work, just a lucky find. https://github.com/lubomyr/bochs?files=1
tried this version (russian), but you can try use google translate.
in russian 4pda. ru there is detailed manual for 2.6.8 .
just search BOCHS для Android, Эмулятор Pentium PC для Андроид
