Payday for Android Paycheck Estimator

Ok guys I switched over to Android when the EVO came out and I'm loving it. Developing is a bit different. I finally converted my popular Win Payday app I developed for windows mobile over to Android with some new added features that were requested.
I've seen a couple on the market that offer similar results but most of them look up the tax rates in your area so its never going to work on a per individual basis, which is the bulk of complaints from what I've read. This is why I gave my app the ability to let the user input his/her own tax withholding rates for a more accurate user by user result. Take and figure out your Tax percentages and enter them, along with your other deductions, Insurance, 401k (new), and even an other category for anything not specifically categorized. This also gives you the ability to state if they need to come out before or after taxes. Also enter in how long your pay period is in either hours days or weeks with your overtime rate and it will figure your overtime pay into your total as well. Once you get everything entered in, back on the main screen just put in how many hours you worked this pay and it will do the rest. Your Tax and OT Data will be saved until you remove the app/reinstall. Nothing is sent ANYWHERE, your data stays on your phone.

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. There is the ability to put in overtime and if your lucky enough to get double time ;-). Its going to calculate whatever time you have entered for your pay week over the "Frequency Setting" at the OT rate. If you get double time just put 2.0 in the OT Rate instead of 1.5 (Default) for time and a half. If you get straight double time just put 0 in for your Frequency and it should calculate all your hours as double time, or you could just put your rate at the double time rate and use regular hours its going to work either way. As for looking up your Tax rates online I'm sure there are some web sites out there and I'll look some more once I get to work tomorrow and let you know. However, I'm writing a "set up wizard" so all you need to do is enter in your values from a pay stub and it will calculate the percentages and store them for you so there is less typing and dividing and lessens the chance for error. I'm also writing the ability for people who get tips to enter them in daily and it will store a running total and will tell you how much you made at the end of the pay period. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. These new changes will be in the Donate version at first but I will move them to the Free version after a period of time so if you want the most up to date version please get the donate version. Thank to all who have donated I appreciate it very much and its what lets me keep developing. I will upload the APK tomorrow once I get to work. It may not be on the market if you don't have android version 1.6 or higher. I'll work on making it more compatible with previous versions.As for other currency's, this is straight algebra so it should work with any currency, if it doesn't please let me know I'll try to make it more non-us friendly . Also, I'm not one of those developers that throw garbage on the market and not support it. I will do my best to make any change or enhancements you guys suggest, but obviously the Donate purchasers will come first ;-). Have a great rest of the weekend.

Payday Updated!!
Payday Donate version has been updated with a new setup tool that helps calculate your tax percentages. I also updated the free version with a bug fix. On the setup wizard I found that you will need to use your gross amount MINUS your pretax deductions for it to accurately get your percentages. This also goes for the FREE version if your calculating those percentages yourself. This is the reason some people were off by almost a hundred dollars, because the insurance, etc was included in the calculations. Please update your calculations and please consider buying the donate version. I will be adding a field for the total of your pre-tax deductions and it will be excluded from the tax calculations on the Setup Wizard. Thanks a lot guys!

I've updated payday to use more decimal places to solve the accuracy issues. Also a few upgrades for the new release coming soon. Keep an eye out

Assuming monthly earnings fluctuate and is not based on hours worked, can something like this be done:
Allow inputting of past months' earnings. So let's say it's Dec, allow someone to input as many previous months worth of earnings in leading up to Dec. Then the app will calculate December's earnings based on an average of all the previous months.
What also would be nice is a way to generate a graph showing earnings over time.
I know this sounds ridiculous but some of us have weird jobs.

I have updated Pay and it should now work with the new Android 2.3 platform. Upcoming additions are on the horizon so keep an eye on your update screens. Thanks guys!

Payday Update
I've updated Payday to now include some state percentage verification so if your very far off from what your tax bracket should be it will warn you. Hopefully this will cut down on errors with the initial setup. Thanks everyone for using my app and especially those who opted for the donate version. Have a great St Patrick's Day.

[APP] Multi List Checklist Application! Updated v2.0

Hello XDA!
I know there are hundreds of To Do List applications already submitted to the Play Store, however many of them that I found were too cluttered with features, or had a very unappealing layout.
Because of this, I decided to create Multi List! Its themed to look like an ICS for all phones, regardless of your Android version. This is my first Android project so I would really appreciate your feedback and suggestions. You can email me at [email protected]. Before creating this app, the only programming experience I had was with Python and PHP with MYSQL. I'm currently a student at Indiana University in the School of Informatics program, and I spent a portion of this current semester learning Java and Android. I created this application as a class final project, but I will continually work on making Multi List better.
I'm also highly considering open sourcing the application. The popular open source To Do lists, Astrid and Open Intents, are so complicated and featured that it is really hard for anyone learning Android development to figure out how the code is working. I believe open sourcing this could help any new developers, as well as help make the app better. I'm not at all interested in making money off of this. If anybody has advice on the best code hosting site for open source Android applications, let me know. I feel like most are using Google Code or GitHub.

Thanks man! Neither the backup nor the edit option should be too difficult to implement. After my finals are finished a week from now I should be able to add these pretty quickly. Next update will also give the option to use the holo light theme if desired.

Yeah..... I noticed that too :/ lol I forgot to change it. I feel like I update too often now as it is, so I'll fix it next release when I add the option to rename entire lists. How did you like the backup feature that you had requested? Do you have any suggestions to make that part better.

yeah it's really no big deal at all. certainly not worthy of an update just for that. looking forward to the rename list option! and couldn't ask for more with the backup feature...i'm a rommer so im always creating backups with texts and certain apps, and my task list is always one of them so that was a big deal for me! seems like it works exactly as it should! thank you!

I just finished the rename list option. I'll update it soon. I don't know what the standard is for updating apps. I don't want to frustrate users by updating daily (which I have for the last couple of days), but then again I don't want to hold out on updates.
Other than that, I think the app is pretty full featured. For its purpose, a widget would be nice and some sort of syncing option but thats mostly it. My next work on this would be to add a widget, but at the time, I don't think I'm capable of building in Google Tasks sync. I may open source it at some point for assistance on that and more app recognition. I didn't even know a bit of Java or Android programming until about 4 months ago lol.

i personally do not mind app updates. i guess it bothers some people but i actually like going into the market and seeing updates!
the widget would be very nice...and honestly the only other thing i was going to suggest was the sync feature. although, as you said, i'm not sure if it is possible with google or not.
right now the app does everything i would ask for, so anything else is just icing for me.
there is an app out there that i have used in the past, cozy i believe it is called, that has the ability to sync across devices which was nice. idk y i stopped using it to be honest. lol. i would be able to update a grocery list, etc. and my wife could see the updated list on her phone and vice/versa. not a bad feature. i think it was the layout of the app itself that i wasn't crazy about so i stopped using it.

I just updated the app with rename options! I had to update because it was crashing on Honeycomb. Everything should be working perfectly on all devices now.
And yeah, honestly most to do list apps now sync. At some point I would like to figure that out, but that would be later down the road.

As a request from someone, I am working on an export to xml/html. I have the xml export working, however xml isn't really a good solution for a readable file. I will not have any time to work over the weekend, but I should be able to put out an update soon that gives the ability to send lists by email, etc. This would be formatted as html in a table type layout that could also be printed, etc.

I forget things quite easily so I have been using my phone for years to help me remember about certain tasks I need to do. I tried few applications but did not fall in love with any. They are often too complex and require too many steps to create a reminder / note.
Therefore I decided to make my own. I learned the basics of Android development and spent 2 months developing "Simplest Reminder". I was working on and off and only during my free time which was just a few hours a day at most.

Hey Teadious. What country are you in, if I may ask. I can enable it. For now only US and Poland are enabled. The reason is that my app uses this time format: 12/25/2013 which is standard in the US but not other countries (not even in Poland but I enabled Poland because other tester is there )

Thank You all for the support. In just one day the number of installations went from 6 to 24! Awesome.

I spent few hours recently trying to find a very frustrating bug in my application that was causing reminders not to go off under certain circumstances.
I found a potential issue, fixed it and pushed updated version 1.2 to the Google Play yesterday.
I really hope that it will permanently fix it! However, if for any reason a reminder doesn't go off for you it would be very helpful if you could provide some details here or PM me (version 1.2 and up only).

EDIT: Just pushed version 1.3 to the market because there still was a bug. Third time a charm... Hope it is gone for good!

Today I pushed 2 updates to the market.
Version 1.4 is meant to put an end to the mysterious bug causing reminders not to go off (I am 100% confident I nailed it this time and it turns out it was not even a bug but rather a missing feature, lol - simply put, the alarms were not set after phone reboot [Android OS removes all alarms on phone reboot])
Version 1.5 introduces new option in the settings panel - now you can decide if screen should be turned on when reminder goes off.

A nice feature would be, if we can decide Yes/no Notification Sound per reminder.
So one is with notification sound as set up in settings, one without because of not beeing so important.

While this is a nice feature, I don't think I will be implementing anything that would add complexity or increase number of taps required to create a reminder. The main goal of my application is being the simplest to use out of all reminder applications in the market.
There are many great applications in the market that have all that complexity and extra features including colors, note priority, sound per reminder, vibration per reminder, repeatable reminders etc. The reason why I don't use those apps is because setting up a reminder takes a minute or so.
I realize that limiting the number of features in my app may turn some users away but at the same time I am confident that it will be appealing to users who expect mobile apps to be simple and intuitive to use.
With all that being said, I really appreciate your feedback and please keep it coming. I may actually build another application based on Simplest Reminder that would have whole bunch of additional features.

Will give it a try! Teamed up with NotifyMe or such, could be very useful indeed.

Nice app, but how hard would it be to add some sort of calender view when picking a date?
So instead of scrolling, you just tap the date/day.
Would that make the app more complex?

some time ago, I searched for a screenshot app which let me quickly edit screenshots, and then upload them directly to Imgur or share them differently.
Since I couldn’t find anything suitable, I started developing my own one, so now here it is:
My app is called Screen’it, and I’m almost finished for release, but before I wanted to do an alpha/beta test. I would be really happy if you could take part at my alpha test and give me any kind of feedback, about my app. Just say what you think about it. Do you like the layout, design, functions, features, etc.? I would greatly appreciate any sort of feedback.
At release, Screen’it will be a paid app, with a 30 day free trial, but all beta and alpha tester receive Screen'it free for one year. If you are a beta or alpha tester and give feedback, you get Screen’it free forever and don’t have to pay for the Full Version any time in life.

Hi all,
I'm finally back from India and in front of my Computer! Expect the next update of Screen'it at the end of this week, I'm working on it. It will be mainly about the "Recent Screenshots" Option.
Next on my list is working on a better way to actually take screenshots. I'm thinking about a "facebook messenger like" bubble for taking screenshots.
And my favorite long-term feature will be the ability to crop before taking a screenshot. (that will probably take some time to implement, but it should work after all). So stay tuned for what's coming next.

Very good app, design/layout is decent and very easy navigatable. I love the loads of tools in the photo editor.
I wouldn't mind, if it was possible to access the photo editor and redo a screenshot after initial editing.
I ran into a problem when trying to share a screenshot via my sms app (Google messenger) . Sending it manually worked fine though. Installed chompsms to see if it was a genereal problem, but there it worked as it should. Verdict must be my sms app sucks.
Other than this, I don't (for my perspective), see any needs for big changes.
You could do color theming if you wanted, I'm sure people enjoy the ability to change color setup.

Regarding the screenshot redo feature: Never that about that, but sounds good, and helpful. How should it look like? I could imagine that I add an recent Screenshots view to the main app page (where the "start capture" button is), and if you click on one of the images, the editor opens up and let you edit the screenshot again.
I will check the sms problem, when I'm home, should be normally also working with google messenger :/

I'm currently working on some minor bug fixes and improvements and I created a "features wanted" list. I'm trying to figure out how to implement some of the features which were requested, but it's not all that easy... and than there isn't enough free time for programming currently :/ But the next build will come soon or later, stay tuned thank you for your help!

Been looking for new updates to this thread for some time, and just now I noticed the update in your OP.
Heh, I was awaiting a new post, so never scrolled up to have a look there.
The recents screenshot wasn't exactly what I was thinking, more like a regular "load image" function and then access the image.
But if you can access the image via pressing on the image, I guess that'll work to

First of all sorry for no updates on this thread and my app. I'm currently in India for two months, and doesn't have my computer with my, so sadly no Android programming right now. I'll be back mid February and will than continue working on the app. Thanks for your @vange and all the other support until now, that really keeps me going [emoji4] [emoji3]
Send me more ideas for features if you want, I'm open for (almost) everything.

Hi all,
I'm finally back from India and in front of my Computer! Expect the next update of Screen'it at the end of this week, I'm working on it. It will be mainly about the "Recent Screenshots" Option.
Next on my list is working on a better way to actually take screenshots. I'm thinking about a "facebook messenger like" bubble for taking screenshots.
And my favorite long-term feature will be the ability to crop before taking a screenshot. (that will probably take some time to implement, but it should work after all). So stay tuned for what's coming next.
And as always if you have any new feedback or request for a feature feel free to shout it out!

[APP][4.0+]PokiiMap - PokomonGO hack, show pokemons on map

PokiiMap is (yet another) an Android app to help you san for pokemons in a map, because it's really important to catch'em all!
Quick story, my wife had been obsessively playing PokemonGO since its release. I wrote this app mainly to help her play it. It's working pretty well so I decided to polish it a bit and contribute it back to the community. Download it if you like the game and hopefully it helps you. If you are a developer, fork it and join me build some awesome things before they start cracking down private API uses.
It's open sourced on Github. To start, import it into android studio. Then get a google map API key from google, add it to google_maps_api.xml. Build and have fun! (Messy codes warning)

Can the apps view pokemon CP (on next build perhaps ) ??

is it just me or its a bug, every single time i log in is always time out.

If people really are worried about their accounts why not turn 2 layer auth on? Also, downloading and will give it a go on second account! (Not going to jinx my primary) Can't wait for trading!

Server error or temp ban warning keeps showing and app would not work. Was working for 2 days but stopped today. Playing the game will still work with no issues.
Edit:fixed with 0.6. Update to 0.7 better.

Btw, the pokestop mode both all and lure only cauaes error

Was working better last night in terms of creature density. Still works today and also updated to beta 6 but the scans no longer produce the same amount of creatures.
Last night i'd average about 20 creatures per scan. Tonight I managed only 4-5 per scan. Tried various version histories and same. Great app, but last night it was an amazing app!

EDIT: Version 0.7 seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks again! =)

Can you add scanning radius option? It feels like take forever to ginish the scan, and it'll be great if 30 secs delay between pokestop to pokestop, 2 mins between monsters

Awesome app, works great, but yes everyone be careful using this to catch pokemon

You're awesome sir! Thanks for the scan range option and the shorten delay between catching on alpha 8. I love the countdown on the top bar,
Oh... Theres delay countdown bug below..
I also hope next build will keep process on background so it'll be on the same state while we switch apps while waiting the delay.
And maybe persistent scanning toogle on screen on the last scanned area with certain interval of scan (just like radar)

not really understanding this temp block it doesn't seems to be going, thought it was 15 minutes with app off but I'm up to 2 hours, great app just little confused

Noticed app doesn't really scan for creatures that have low remaining time. Creatures with >3mins are pretty much undetectable.
Any chance for a fix on that?

EDIT: So after some investigation it may seem that this 3min limit are applied to creatures that are lured at pokestops? Not sure if there is any truth to this.

There must be something wrong now. No pokemon and pokestops are showing up. Any word on what's going on?

It seems that all scan apps have the same issue now (I tried PokeScanner and LiveMapGO too). Maybe Niantic find a way to detect those apps..
