I own a new moto g 2015 phone.. And whenever I swipe away recent apps in the task switcher there is a lag/stutter before the app leaves the screen. It swipes away and then pauses for a second before leaving. It is really annoying.. Is there any way to fix this?!
I'm amazed at the fact that NO one has been talking about this ridiculous issue in LP that's been present on EVERY device since 5.0... Regardless of hardware or kernel settings, you'll ALWAYS going to randomly get it. I don't personally own a G but on my X 2014 it's noticeable every now and then, and on my late nexus 4 it occurred even more often. I've found that Recently by Chainfire reduces this uber-annoying behavior by good measure but it's still no definitive solution to this shameful BUG. I bet the idiots at google still didn't get it fixed in "6.0"
Are you a root user?
yes, when the pone memory (disk space) is getting low , i am facing more lags ..
I faced it earlier but now it is fixed I guess...
I've been trying several solutions, none of which is the ultimate one, but I can suggest looking into database optimisation and/or LMK settings. Virtual memory probably has something to do with this as well
setting I/O read ahead to 128kb improves this condition a lot. I'm using deadline scheduler
Same :/ Also frequent lags in cm12.1
Me also facing the same problem with moto g3

I just noticed this recently. Whenever I set the brightness level to "15" via the touch control gesture, the brightness lowers instead of increase. Moving it upwards from 1 to 14 seems fine then the brightness drops at 15, I believe it's the same brightness level you set on the phone's notification drawer.
Anyone with similar issues?
~~
Moto X (2015) Pure Edition
Android 6.0 Marshmallow
I'm having similar issues since I upgraded my LG G3 to 6.0. With the difference that even on levels 1 to 14 the player uses the phone's auto brightness.
Same goes btw for QuickPic with settings to view pics at maximum brightness.
All this does not happen on my Nexus 7 running pure 6.01...

So I'm guessing this really is a bug for flat 6.0 owners. It's either wait for my 6.0.1 to arrive or just hope a quick fix to MX would come
thanks for the reply!
@valXypher & @itenos
I have tested on Moto E2 with 6.0 (Official Private Test build).
But, I can't reproduce the issue. Seems that device specific issue. Not android version specific.
Sent from my SM-G900H using Tapatalk
After long time testing I finally found the culprit. In my specific case it was an app that didn't allow MX player and even Quick Pic to automatically raise the brightness to max.
The name of the app is CPU temp.
I've been using it already long time but never noticed this behavior because the app always got killed by android memory management soon after that I used it.
Since being on marshmallow the app did not get killed automatically anymore instead.
I did a test on a complete different phone running kitkat and it behaved the same.
As your symptoms are different from mine it might be a different app that causes your problems. Only way to find out is to factory reset, install one app at a time and after each install check MX player again. Took me 2 full days to do this job...
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
Thanks! Right now I don't have the time to actually do a factory reset since I use my phone as my daily driver and I can't afford to reinstall some apps. If I manage to do so then I'l reply back again.
UPDATE:
I had the time to do a factory reset earlier so I finally tested MX Player without any other apps installed aside from the pre-loaded ones. Unfortunately the issue still persists. I guess this is indeed a device specific issue.
Hi everyone, moto global
Not a surprise in such a short time after Moto G 2016 has been updated to MM 6.0 internet is flooded with complaints. I had my update in UK for around a week now.
I have manufactory reset device since then twice due to following reasons and which did not solve the problem :
I am literally fuming because new update took everything away that made this phone super phone.
1) Battery time got much worse, neither my habits changed nor apps I use. I would say by 30% .
Simple browsing and reading drains 40% just in one hour.
2) Other thing is display touch issues. No matter how gentle or harder I press my finger or use fro same purpose other thinkers display thinks I want to open link, photo, jump into other page. In general open something or anything that is possible on current page. That happens flickering finger up normal speed , slower ,or faster doesn't matter.
There is clearly an issue because I had none of it while phone was on Lollipop.
3) I also noticed phone is slower opening apps, getting in and out of app , inside browser loading time got longer.
4) Why on earth would Moto not allow to downgrade it to Lollipop? I don't care you have MM6 I want to get back to Lollipop until you sort out mess around buggy MM.
......
What problems do you have?
People, please, stop exercising your flashing, roming muscle and how cool you are at that. This thread is for identifying actual/present problem on MM based Moto G 2015 .
The issue with the behavior of the touch screen is what really gets to me. I scroll and let my finger of the screen and it registers that as a press and opens some link if my finger happens to be over one as I lift it off.
I have two decent ways of reproducing some of my issues with the screen (being able to reliably reproduce problems is paramount if you want to report problems).
1. Go to http://www.msnbc.com/videos . Scroll a bit down the page and then move your finger rapidly up and down. No issue. It follows your finger perfectly. Now start playing a video on the page and try again. At least to me, after a fairly short while it simply stops moving and no longer registers my touch. I can lift my finger and put it back down and now it moves again. There's no freaking way playing a video should have priority in the kernel over keeping track of my touches. I get it's not the fastest phone in the world and i would be fine with a lot of lagging. But don't just "forget" i have my finger on the screen. Something is very clearly wrong. Not exactly sure how this was in lollipop, but I'm noticing a lot of touch screen issues in marshmallow.
2. If I scroll to the top of my app drawer (by moving my finger down) and try to scroll even further (which obviously I can't) it often takes the place where I lift my finger as a press and opens that app. If anyone can confirm this kind of behavior it will.be eaiser to go to Motorola with this
I erased the stock rom and put CM12.1 ... Solved my problems!

1. I have this issue to though it takes me quite a few times to move my thumb up and down before it freezes.
2. " and try to scroll even further (which obviously I can't) it often takes the place where I lift my finger as a press and opens that app" that's exactly what I have on facebook, androidauthority etc. Instead of page gliding further it registers finger as for press. This issue is so obvious on my phone. I can reproduce it fairly easy.

You can downgrade to Lollipop 5.1.1 from Marshmallow..
Upgraded my Moto G 2015 to MM and had same issues like yours so I decided to downgrade to Lollipop and battery life is awesome in Lollipop... 5+ hours Screen on Time.

Once you upgraded to MM factory resetting will not downgrade...
You have to manually flash the firmwares files for Moto G 2015 Lollipop
I am also suffering from the touch issue
I tried downgrading but it fails to write the bootloader, etc. Some detailed instructions on how to do this using fastboot would be awesome...
Can you downgrade to 5.1.1 without an unlocked bootloader?
And since the ghost input issue seems to be a software issue, can't we just tweak it somehow?
I don't experience the same issues. I really like MM, but I don't think that is much better or different from LL. But I think I have better battery, better image and no touch issues. Performance doesn't appear much different.
I upgraded from OTA and have a XT1541. Did a factory reset after the upgrade.
This upgrade to android 6.0 on my Moto g 3rd gen is killing me
- Random bouts of slowness, if it had a hard drive with spindles I'm sure I would hear it ticking away constantly
- lag when typing into search bar etc
- lag when hitting home button
- the unintended link-clicking thing when simply browsing a webpage is infuriating especially considering how SLOW it is to bring up the link then go back because you don't bloody want it opened I. The first place. aGhHHHhG!!!! ajdfhaahbs#!&#@[email protected]
- I've started receiving low battery warnings on a daily basis when I have in general not considered battery EVER during the day with this phone
- apps have been crashing or constantly bringing up the dialogue box about not responding and wait/kill it
- Gmail notification is inconsistent - I'm not getting status bar notifications for all new email, can't find a pattern - does work sometimes
Basically what was a decent phone has now turned into a P.O.S
What is actually better about MM ?
I want to downgrade to Lollipop - considering I'm taking matters into my own hands is Lollipop the best option?
Whats the best way to safely flash the phone to proposed O/S? Link to approved method please and THANKS

I did twice. Didn't work for me. Now I did hard reset. Just signed in with my google account and nothing else. Not even updating apps . Will give a couple of days and see what's happening.
I can confirm after few days of hard reset issues persist. Sending phone back.

I have problems with touchscreen too. I've documented them here: https://youtu.be/_hMp9vb2WUI
Same here. Touchscreen is driving me crazy since i updated my xt1541 to stock MM.
Specially when i scroll up/down but the phone reacts as if i clicked. (factory reset and wiping cache didn't solve the issue).
i fixed the issue wirh touch screen by just removing the screen protector (glass)

I have exactly the same problem. I think is related to the size of finger. Also at mine moto g, with the app that you used in your video, using 2 inch i having the problem, using the indices no So, with smaller touched area the problem not appear
About the ghost touch, i have no idea what they have combined in motorola, but seems that the touch is "software" managed (like a 3d render made by the cpu instead of gpu), and it seems that with the cpu under stress the problem worsens, and problably this is why it does not always happen.
I made another test: if you enable developer option and you activate the cursor position option (i don't know if is the exact english name, i'm italian), with 3 touch have a huge lag, with 4 is impossible to draw cursor positions. About this test i don't know if is a problem of touch or is a problem of developers tools. Is necessary to check with another android 6 smartphone.
I also found another bug about the energy saving. Yesterday, when the battery has dropped below 15%, the energy saving has been activated automatically, as i set, but after connecting the charger it is not deactivated. I had to repeatedly juggle with the power saving enabling option to disable it (notification bar and buttons bar still remained red even with the power saving option turned off). Today I realized that the phone lags so obscene and discovered that, although it was not notified of the power saving mode, only 1 core was active with variable frequency. I had to again turn on and off the power saving mode to have all the core active (in cpu-z the governor was ever interactive but with only cpu0 active before re enable and disable power saving mode). Some happened this thing?
F...k, i was so glad I bought a motorola moto g i hope they solve these problems.
I think it would be useful to have a collection of all bugs of the android 10 update. From my point of view it is a disaster.
I noticed the following (after I factory reset it) :
Touch issues - touching the screen lightly does nothing. I have the actually tap it... This makes writing a pain, as hard to reach keys do not always register
Backlight auto adjustment issues - now it's very aggressive and basically stupid. I'm sitting in home, in the evening, almost without moving, definetly in the same spot and the backlight just jumps around in big increments
Lag and shutter in daily usage - a restart solves this for a couple of hours...
apps are now often reloaded - memory manager is too agresive and kills background apps
GPS NOT WORKING. It was flawless before update ?
build-in swiftKey keyboard does NOT remember how and where you type IF you change the keyboard layout /position (compact, split, side, etc...). This essentially makes it useless
A factory reset is not enough , try software repair using Sony companion
Im not having touch or GPS issues, but my phone is definitely slower and laggier since the upgrade to android 10. ALso my battery seems to be depleting faster. Is there any way to roll back to 9?

Wifi is often lost and quickly reconnects
fingerprint sensor isn´t as sensitive as it was before
battery drain is bigger than before
bluetooth pairing with tablet doesn´t work properly...being paired: YES, but no connection at all...tried three different tablets...bluetooth headphones work!
The camera application is crashing when I take photos.... :crying:
I really haven't faced any of those issues. The fingerprint is the only things that have become laggy, the phone is louder now when playing music, camera works great even with unlocked bootloader.
You should try to do a clean install with newflasher my phone is even rooted and works great.

Scratch that... I am experiencing all the issues from OP's post. It is especially severe when trying to use two apps at the same time in split screen.
Sony mobile engineers answer my bug report
Android Beam doesn't work (transferring files by touching two phones with NFC).
Nothing works on this phone any more!
I will never buy another Sony phone and surely I will advice others against buying such sh*t.
------------------
I contacted the Sony support in my country and they said "the download must have been corrupt" and I "should try to reinstall" via the Xperia companion (some kind of desktop app).
Mind boggling is the fact that this answer comes "directly from Sony engineers".
Now... I guess it is clear for everyone why they f*ucked this phone so bad. Their engineers think that a corrupt file can 1) be installed successfully 2) cause all these bugs...

The only brand who has this crappy issue is Sony ! Companion fills all the missing files or damaged files .. during the ota download and installation sometimes things go wrong
For everyone reading this thread: there is no such thing as instalation with corrupt or missing files.
All files in today's IT world are uniquely identified and double checked after download.
Their answear is only a way of not telling us that they f*cked up this + they think that we are stupid. Some of us might be fooled by this, but surely the majority won't be.
We have primarily the camera issue, a reboot resolves it temporarily.
Anyone managed to fix these issues with a fresh Sony companion install?
52.1.A.0.618 here. Fingerprint is slower and the battery drains faster while screen on. (Standby and deep sleep are both ok). Everything else is the same as Pie, at least for me.
Add me to list of unhappy xz2 compact owners. Phone is almost unusable since the update. More often than not the finger scanner only works when you press the power button first, it lags awfully in most apps, I get errors in apps I never did before, battery drain is about the same as previous. Overall this is my last Sony. Very very poor. Should add I did full companion restore and it made zero difference
I have to add my voice to this thread, short as it happily/sadly is. Since the update I've experienced a number of issues: Fingerprint scanner is less sensitive and sometimes doesn't work, the wake-up procedure is strange, in that the icons will appear before the background loads and even though I have security set to not show notification details on the lock screen, they'll reveal for a split second before waking up to the home screen, the camera is unreliable, the timer app doesn't reset or dismiss when appearing on the notification bar..
It's the first time I've ever emailed Sony Support on what was (and I hope still will be) my favourite ever phone. They of course just tell me to factory reset. Such a shame and I hope they fix it.

I'm having the same issue. Not sure what is wrong. I have not factory restored my phone. That is ridiculous
I also add the bug of Google Assistant in Stamina Mode:
I always keep It disabled when long press home button, but when Stamina Mode turns on, Google Assistant switches on again automatically although in settings shows that is off.
wow its been 2 years since I bought the XZ2C, had issues with the wifi and data so I went back to android 8.0, and use it for O2 priority only. Came back to see if android 10 fixed the problems. Disappointing.
I am not surprised at all that Sony still hasn't fixed any of the issues.

there are still a lot of vital features that were bugged in android10 and i´m not sure they´ll be adressed in the near future.
I'm having this problem with my NEW mi note 10 phone.
I notice it when first when I'm typing on my keyboard as usual speed.
It kept doing this phantom swipe across two finger taps.
I posted some videos to illustrate my problem.
Is it a software or hardware problem? (This problem is intermittent as well so it's really hard to pinpoint it)
ttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1-QMHaYYpsEizVRpPHqPvzx-E2hUMa0ur/view?usp=sharing(Using keyboard)
ttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1-6M1e33Qxz8HXckkcLb3sWVTXG6fPHzv/view?usp=sharing (Using touchscreen tester, you can clearly see the phantom swipe across the two taps)
Anyone else having this problem except for me?
When this problem comes, I can't even properly play a game.
reformat factory reset - fail
reinstall latest miui global 11.1. 2 - fail
optimise animation all off - fail
gboard - fail
xiaomi keyboard - fail
SwiftKey - fail
turn off Miui optimization - fail
restart phone - fail
clear ram, clear cache, clear recent, speed boast - fail
CPU slowing down due to background processes?
Touch digitalizer got problem? (I tried shaking it gently, poking it but it does not affect anything at all)
As I said, this problem is intermittent. There are times when I can use it without any problems at all.
It's really weird.
It can be totally fine one moment and then it acts up again.
There's another thread about this. Most of us face this issue on all variants of the phone (Pro/Lite). This started with April or May update where Mi added a edge sensitivity control setting.
What happens here is that touch sensitivity suddenly reduces and it will be hard to do anything that involves rapid touch such as typing.
Lock and unlocking the screen or restarting the phone will fix this temporarily. There's no permanent solution.
Also when this issue occurs again, go to the settings and turn on Game Turbo for an app such as WhatsApp, without and then try typing on WhatsApp, you will see that the issue is gone.
We all are waiting for Mi to fix this. But I would advice to return the phone if it's under warranty though this is a software issue
Hello all (and thanks in advance). I just upgraded from a G8 to a V60 and got some questions that I am hoping you all can help me with. I have the TMo variant with the latest update (A11)
- I have heard about fingerprint sensor can lead to battery drain. How would I notice if I have a problem and any workarounds? (So far battery hasn't shown an issue)
- Any good launchers for the dual screen?
- I noticed the auto brightness on it is too low. Any workarounds or fixes? It is the worst auto brightness I have seen.
- Any way to get the 2 button gesture on V60 (like was on G8)? I am not a fan of the new gesture setup
- Any covers for the outside of the dual screen? (I saw some posts with dead links)
- Best version of GCam to use?
- If using stock camera app, any suggestions for set up?
- Any other advice?
Welcome! I like this phone a lot, and am saddened that LG is pulling out of the mobile industry entirely.
I can't answer all of your questions, but I'll try to tackle some of them.
- I haven't heard of any battery drain due to the fingerprint sensor, and after owning this for almost 13 months, I can't say I've experienced anything of the sort. If it's there, it's so minimal as to be unnoticeable. I have slightly less battery life on Android 11 than I did with Android 10, but that's only because I had to tone down my aggressive de-bloating (which worked fine on Android 10, but causes soft-bricks on Android 11). I haven't had the time to troubleshoot, so I just kept the de-bloating to a minimum with Android 11 and deal with slightly shorter battery life. It's still more than long enough to suit my needs just fine.
- I haven't used my dual-screen in almost a year, but back then, there were no options for alternative launchers. I main Nova Prime, so while that was working fine for the phone itself, the dual-screen attachment was stuck using a version of LG's native Home launcher. Sucks, and it's one of a many reasons why I wound up stashing my dual-screen attachment in a box somewhere and stored it away. If you do use it, maybe check out the WideMode for LG app. I believe it was created for the G8, but when I last checked, it worked fine on the V60 dual-screen attachment and may increase your device's utility.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.refy.android.g8x.widemode
- I've noticed that on Android 11, the auto-brightness doesn't work nearly as well as it did on Android 10 (I've even factory reset multiple times). Sometimes I have to pull down the notification shade and toggle auto-brightness off and then right back on. Helps, but it's hardly a permanent fix. Seems to be a bug introduced with Android 11, and given the state of LG's future in mobile, I wouldn't bank on it being a priority fix.
- Not sure what you mean about the G8's navigation gestures (never used that phone). Their stock Android 11 gestures are MUCH better than the garbage they had for Android 10, IMO. That's the bright side. The crap part is that Android 11 nixed the part of the API that let third-party navigation gesture apps hide the Navigation Bar, and I don't think this is something that can be addressed without root now. I used to use the amazing Fluid Navigation Gestures app when I was still on Android 10, but had to ditch it for Android 11. So yeah, 11's gestures are better than 10's, but they're still a step down from FNG, IMO.
- I thought the dual-screen attachment was built into its own case-like accessory. You can replace this? I had no idea and have nothing to contribute here. Sorry.
- I'd kind of like to know about GCam too.
- And if GCam is not possible, I wouldn't mind guidance on the stock LG camera app, which is what I use (everything on default settings).
- Good luck, and I hope you enjoy the phone!

Thanks for insights. Wondering what were you able to debloat and how?
There was an old thread from around when the phone first launched dedicated to de-bloating, but as I discovered, it's basically specific to Android 10, and trying to duplicate the process on Android 11 led to some soft-bricks (at least for me, with an American AT&T device running on the AT&T network).
It involved using ADB commands to manually "uninstall" a whole bunch of system packages. It was tedious, and having to factory reset when something goes wrong to try again with fewer packages is a bit of a pain in the butt. So I largely gave up on that process and just wound up using the recommendations included with this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pdmdm.dmplay
That said, I noticed that a new thread popped up in March 2021 explaining the ADB method but providing a new list of packages (including T-Mobile- and AT&T-specific bloat) to remove. Going by the date the thread went up, I assume it's for Android 11, but I don't think they actually specify that. I have NOT yet tested this, so I can't vouch for it. But it seems promising, and it probably beats a thread that's nearly a year old and DID cause issues for me after the Android 11 update.
