now this is interesting, something that makes this app stand out from the rest. ill download it now and will report with my experience with it.
thanks.

K, installed it but:
-where is the new device notification setting?
The ui is great, simple. Some feature suggestions:
-traceroute / ip location
-whois
-current connections / open ports
-dns lookup and resverse lookup
An advance feature suggestion:
-os detection feature from nmap!

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll implement these feature in future
About new device notification if you open the settings page you can see "Monitoring Wifi" parameter.
This means that every x seconds the app scans the network and checks if a new device is connected.
In order to monitoring the network you must click on the wifi symbol on the main page.
When you click on the wifi symbol you see a yellow triangle near the symbol, this means that you are monitoring that network

Thanks, no instruction in app about this
Also you could add notification icon option for those who wanna know that the app is running in background, this also helps preventing it from being closed.

- Lock screen could be a good feature.
- Activate GPS. Developers can not enable GPS only at specific android versions.
- Wifi: When you send a location command, the App enable wifi if is was not enabled and send to the log the networks SIDs ordered by close.
- Stealth mode: I do not want this kind of App, but some feature will be developed.
If someone wants to give more feedback, is welcome.
thanks for nice appk
Enjoy!!!
Working on a new app version with stealth mode.
Soon
Right now, testing on:
- Android 2.3
- Android 4.0
- Android 4.3
It seems to work OK!!!

FAQ:
Q: I can't connect!
A: UPDATE: In version 1.2.0 I improved finding local IP address. So even if you use a vpn, you should get the valid and correct local IP address. Also, new version has Auto Server Discovery feature. When you are in Connection Status page, wait a little and you will see your host will be added to the list automatically! If you still have problems and app cannot find your host automatically, you can try adding your host manually. Make sure to use a valid local IP address. You can find your local IP address form Swift Remote desktop application, and also from Network and Sharing Center in Windows
Q: Wake-on-Lan is not working!
A: for Wake-on-Lan, you have 2 options. use a MAC Address or choose from list of your hosts. If you want to choose from hosts you have to connect to that host at least one time. So android app can get your MAC address and store it in database. Remember, if you use Wifi on your computer, android application gets and stores MAC Address of your Wifi interface. So for making wOL to work, connect your computer to LAN (because WOL will not work on Wifi) and then connect android app to desktop. now it stores your LAN interface MAC address.
And for enabling WOL on your PC, if you want to turn on your computer when it is powered off, you should enable WOL in your BIOS.
and if you want to wake up your computer from sleep or hibernate, you should turn on WOL on windows. There are plenty of tutorials and helps for enabling this feature on internet. google it
Thanks Alot!
Just Tested!
Thanks Bro!
Next update will include:
- Wake-On-Lan feature
- Adding 'Passcode' feature to make it a little more secure to use on servers.
- Fix small bug in 'Capture Screenshot'
- You tell me!
If you have any suggestions or want any features, please let me know.
Worked very well on my Nexus 5

New Update v1.1.0
Version 1.1.0 is now available:
Added password feature for connecting to server. Password will be encrypted. (optional)
Added Wake-on-Lan feature. Read help in application for more information.
Added image preview in screenshot notification.
Bug fixes and optimizations.
Minor changes in UI.
This version has some changes in database. Your data will be deleted after update.
This version requires new version of desktop application (v1.1.0) to work.
If you have any problem or you found any bug, please report it here.
Good One

It's needs a network. both computer and android must be in the same network.
but you can also use it on servers with valid IP and connect and control it.
it needs wifi if you are using in a local network or want to connect to a server with valid IP.
and you can use cellular connection just for connecting to a server in another network which has a valid IP
If you want to use Wake-on-Lan to wake up your computer, it only needs a wifi. because Wake-on-Lan only works in a local network.
So you should use it with Wifi.
also, for Wake-on-Lan, you should turn on magic packet in BIOS (if you want to turn on your computer when it's turned off)
and enable magic packet on windows if you want to turn on your computer from sleep or hibernate
I wrote FAQ in second post and explained it there

CM12 Privacy Guard - WiFi Scan for Location always active?

As no one in the Q&A forum could give me an answer, maybe here someone knows what's going on "under the hood".
Privacy Guard tells me that location is constantly active using Wi-Fi scan with the settings app although I've Wi-Fi turned off:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
That is annoying as first I do not want my location constantly monitored and second this maybe also is not "battery friendly".
Anyone knows what's going on here exactly? Is it true what privacy guard tells me?
On CM11 the settings app was not constantly monitoring the location using Wi-Fi when Wi-Fi was turned off.
First have you gone to main setting>wifi>setting button>advanced>scanning always available and make sure its disabled. This is one of those crappy things google.just cant help.itself.not slipping i the and tries to cover it with goog.intentions which are questionable. It purposely buries it way down in setting even those that want to be sure its off may have trouble finding. Also if you look at.the wording its supposedly there to help other apps have your location but also adds "and for other purposes". Which in legaleeze means wide open and to google means we are going to log all the info we can to use for our profit.
Anyways make sure that is off first and formost. After that I will include someother info below to consider and just some FYI stuff you may or maynot be interested in.
I dont know what apks.you have loaded but I know if you have gapps installed there is a number of call home features built into it and if anyone knows how to.bypass things in android its google dev team. It is for this reason i deal.with the inconvenience of not having gapps. Choosing instead to side load or use fdroid and other alternatives for googles various apps. I duckduckgo for searchs. Privacy apk if I wanted to tweet or FB. Email I use a paid service but there are a jumber of free that do not log. I also keep things local and sync it with my pc so nothing is left on servers. You can even setup cloud storage in a way where it acts as a virtual drive and everyrhi g is encrypted while on the cloud but decrypts locally on the device so its seemless.on the users end.
Secondly even without any of these sort.of apps installed google has built in a quasi call back function into the kernel. Its main use is to identify when a data network connection is behind a captive.portal. The setting not accessable from the UI is global captive portal. Its what is the cause of the ! you may sometimes see on the signal bar animaton. Android gives you an option to disable it thru a terminal windohus by changing captive_portal_enable setting from 1 to 0. But interestingly enough its been found that even when set to disabled the system will still use the global captive portal entry regardless. Its setting is to client3.google.com IIRC.
The other issue is that if you have disabled captive portal you will lose the ability to save the config in wireless networks for any network that does not broadcast its ssid or any that is a captive portal which are basically all the commerical wifi such as starbucks book stores libraries etc.. See goggle wants all that info so they can map the worlds wifi network aps (you can now see one way they have found to use this with their up coming release of cellular service where one of its main features is to auto offload both data and calls to any open wifis it has access as they come in range. Thus dumpings its costs and load to.those other companies offering free wifi to its customers and the community)
Interestingly it only does this to wifi not cellular data even though it scans and indicates both with the "!".
The way to stop this is either change the global captive portal to loopback i.e. 127.0.0.0 or you can host a basic webpage your device.
You can do the same for the ntp service as well as it too calls out automatically regardless of.settings in the UI.
The other possibility of the location leak could be from someother app you may not have disabled network or location from that has a call home feature.
You could put a network scanner and log what ip and then see based on its owner to figure out the program.
Another idea is to run a firewall and creat a script to stop all of this kind of leaks. I would recommend AF+Wall.

All servers are optimized for streaming to help you watch your favorite movies or TV shows without any buffer with the 20 Gbit server speeds.
Advanced protocols optimized for speed, security and stability:
Wide range of supported protocols including OpenVPN (UDP, TCP), IKEv2, and WireGuard.

Multiport feature gives users the option to customize the protocol based on their needs by entering its connection ports.

New Version Release [Android App] [V 8.35.11]
Added:
We’ve added a new feature called "Shortcuts" to the Android app. With this feature, we help our users quickly access geo-restricted websites with PureVPN by simply saving them in the shortcuts section and specifying the location for them.
To save a shortcut, you’d need to first select the pre-saved shortcut in the app (this includes Netflix, BBC, Amazon Prime, Hulu, NBC, Hotstar, etc.), and then select the location for it.
You can connect to any of your saved shortcuts, which will not only connect you to that specified location but also route you to the website.
Improvement:
Made some bug fixes.
> Here's a step-by-step guide on how to add shortcuts:
1- Open the PureVPN app, go to the locations section, and click on the "+" icon to add a shortcut.
2- Select any of the pre-saved shortcuts.
3- Choose a location you want to connect to for that specific shortcut.
4- Save the shortcut.
5- Tap on the shortcut to connect to it.
If you already have the PureVPN Android app then simply update the app to enjoy this feature.
