Hi
I need help with my Xperia J - bricked phone.
It started when i tried to do factory reset. I choose this option in android OS and phone doesn't turn on no more.
- it don't turn on , black screen, no vibra, trick with POWER+VolumeUp doesn't work too
- when I plug to charge it have green LED light
- I tried flash using flashtool - Phone flashed correctly but it doesn't resolve my problem (so flash mode works). - Then when it's done and says to disconnect the USB and turn the phone on, the phone doesn't turn on
- I tried 1 minute with POWER+VolumeUp - doesn't work too
please help me
I fleshed Xperia by flashtool and Sony PC Companion 2.1 - nothing change,
Phone still can't turn on.

Before trying flashtool i flashed it several times with wotanserver.

USB Connection constantly up and down
Hi guys,
I made an OTA update to my xperia Ray ST18 because the guy that sold me the phone didn't warn me it has been unlocked. Now it's dead!
I'm really desperate.
I tried Sony Update Tool to try to flash the new ROM. It detects the phone and says it has flashed OK. Then I disconnect the cable and try to turn on the phone but it doesn't start.
The only response I get when I try to restart the phone is a short vibration but the phone still doesn't start.
I don't know if it's normal but when I put the phone to charge there's no light turning on. Is it normal?
I'm also trying to flash with Flashtool but the phone now keeps loosing USB connection.
Any tips would be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Normaly is Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) the best Way
to repair your Phone.
If the Phone loos USB-Connection, check USB (ADB+SDK) Driver
or install new.
Maybe a other Way is "S1tool" it´s a small and crippled subset of SETOOL2 service tool.
Install it, all USB Driver inside.
Shut down your Virusprogram an startet it.
Press the Restore Button in S1
Bring Phone in Fastboot
(Loudness Button UP and USB Connect, you see blue Light on the Home Button)
Wait arround 5 Second..... Finsh
I had the same Problem about flash on my Ray.
The Phone was dead, only the Vibration works on started.
If i press the Start-Botton again, the Home-Botton-Light flash,
that´s was all.
New flashing with SEUS brought no success
S1 is also a good Tool for easy "unblock Bootloader in 10 Second"
And the CyanogenMod 7.20
(original update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-urushi-signed)
ist the best Firmware for the Ray.
Absolut fast, so overclocking ca do.
My Ray works with 1,6 GHz without Probs.
All what you need find it here:

FOR THE FUTURE, NO OTA UPDATE IF BOOTLOADER IS OPEN - THE FIRMWARE IS THEN BLOCKED FOR OTA
Greeting Onex1
Don't know if anyone can help me in my situation but I have a major problem arising from an OTA update too, my phone just refuses to read my SIM card. In fact, it doesn't even ask me for my PIN number, it just boots as normal but I have no connection to any network. I've tried using the SIM card in another phone and it works fine, therefore the problem is with the phone itself.
I'd recently had my phone network & bootloader unlocked by wotanserver using the test point method - because of this I thought the DRM keys would be fine (e.g. TrackId & Timescape still worked). However, when I was updating OTA my phone bricked!
So, I searched high and low for a solution and ended up using s1tool to restore the locked bootloader. Then I used flashtool to flash a stock ICS ftf file. It seemed to work (the phone rebooted) but it was then I noticed that the SIM card wasn't being recognised. Also, in the Flashtool log I noticed that a blue line was there saying 'this file is ignored simlock.ta'.
I've tried everything I can think of to fix this.. Hard resets, updating with Sony Update Service but nothing works. There's just so much conflicting info out there that I'm really confused at this stage. I have a perfectly good phone in that everything works bar the SIM and I'd hate to have to buy another one!
Any suggestions anyone or is my phone screwed for good? :/
I have two factory unlocked Xperia ray (so-03c)
Recently i upgraded one of them to the latest firmware using "sony bridge for mac". Just after upgrade; phone stopped showing any cellular networks; everything including wifi was working smoothly. I tried switching different modes GSM, WCDMS and WCDMA/GSM; it didn't work out for cellular. (I used to have Galaxy Ace, so tried if Android boot recovery would work out; but didn't found anyway in xperia).
I wanted to repair the phone using option in "Sony Bridge for Mac" again. Before proceeding; I did a factory reset then using the settings in the phone. Bridge didn't recognise my phone; Then I found some tutorial for doing reset in the web; And; Pressed Power and Volume Down for about 20 seconds; it vibrated 3-4 times.
Tried to open the phone; it just kept looping in the boot screen
I cant connect it to flashtool, bridge for recovery; Even tried in PC Companion. it detects my phone; but when I want to go to repair; it wont proceed as i cant take the phone to recovery mode. holding volume down and connecting Usb does not do anything
I would be happy if there is any way of recovering this device and i can restore to an earlier firmware; which is intact in the other phone.

When i press volume down and connect to usb; just shows charging

I think there is a fastboot mode way for recovering a device. I search on google and I found a topic about recovering an Optimus One P500 by fastboot, maybe it will work for your device too...

Yes I tried in windows and mac both:
used Pc companion, Update Service, Bridge for mac; Tried flashtool (with black logo); Sony's Emma flashtool wont show device.
Bridge for mac reads device but asks to connect again enabling memory card.
Installed Android developer sdk; but the device didnt go to the flashboot mode. when it connects to usb; it shows charging; wont loop; When i open it, it stays on a loop.

You might want to download any Official FTF file for Xperia Ray, then try to flash this on the phone before trying other custom ROMs

Hi everyone, I think I might have bricked my Sony XPERIA L after I tried to partition my External SD card. After partitioning it to Fat32 and Ext4, I put back my SD card into my phone but after that my phone like never turned ON. Without being able to boot into bootloader, I can't flash stock firmwares. Seeing from all other threads that my phone might be dead, I came across something different today. I plugged in my phone (either to a PC or a Wall Charger) and a 'Light' Green LED was lit. Does it mean that I can do something to bring it back to normal usage?
p.s I love my Xperia L
Anyone, pliss?

hi,
first of all connect your phone to pc in flashmode via flashtool !
now it will ask you automatically to select phone model !!
ok if still your phone is not recognized in flashtool then go continue and click on THUNDER ICON and select flash mode !!
now here again it can ask you ur phone mode ..
still if your device is not recognized then go continue .. and flash with your phone with original stock.. now here again it will ask yor model number !!
ok if still you are facing problem !! then cancel flash .. and again click on Thunder ICON ... and select FASTBOOT MODE ... and after clicking fastboot mode it will ask to remove your phone from pc and reconnect by pressing Volume UP button and hold then connect to pc .... now this time it will ask your model number or it will detect automatically !!
then install kernel again .. and rebot your mobile and start in boot mode .. and clean chache , clean to install new rom then select your rom and it's done !!
now i m sharing this with becoz i faced same issue and i was trying all way to get my phone on back ... so i had flowed these steps and it works !
Hey Guys,
I'm not sure if this issue has been solved, but I was kinda clumsy when i tried to install superSU.zip via twrp (I have TWRP 3.0.2-0)and my Z3 still turns on but wont go to the home screen. I tried downloading the stock firmware and used flashtool but I can't get my phone to flashmode via volume down and plugging it. When I plug it on my laptop (windows 10) while holding any button it shows me the sony logo and nothing happens, no lights. so I turn off the device via the emergency button and holding it down for a few seconds. Good thing is im still able to go to TWRP via turning the phone on and waiting for the purple LED and pressing the volume up and down.
I tried looking for a back up file for my Z3 d6603 and planning to put it on my SD card and restore via TWRP. is my phone really dead? I'm not losing hope yet since i can still charge my phone (i dont see the battery icon though) but it charged from 70 to 83 while plugged in without the red LED and the battery logo.
Can someone please help me with this dilemma? I cant find the right keywords for this problem using google. any help will be much appreciated guys!
bootloop solution
Hello, regarding your question ami happened to me several times when trying to root my old good z1 what you can do if you did not make a backup of your rom, you must have Sony PC Companion on your pc ok and then connect your z3 Off, the pc companion detect the phone and what you have to do is go to the section where it says Support Zone and followed where it says software update of the phone will appear a window that says that the phone could not be found but more abajito says repair phone You click there and start the process ok, look for more reference and accuracy look for a video of it on youtube, I would leave the link but I block it I'll leave you the name of the video and try to find it out, luck. :good::good::good:

same issue with you, have you got good ways? My phone bricked now
I had a few issues with my phone while messing around (even lost my IMEIs once) and Emma always fixed it. Since your device can go into flash mode, it could work. Has to have an unlocked bootloader.
