Today i flashed my phone with the latest leaked rom from htc (insertcoin), battery was charged 100%, and when the battery died i took my battery out from it then back again and let it to charge. Now, after 6 hours i went to the phone to turn it on with no luck. I took the battery out and i tried again to power on, but the led is blinking. I tried to enter bootloader( vol down+ power button) but nothing happed. When i connect it to pc the computer recognize something. I don`t know linux, so i don`t know any commands. When i connect it to charge led stays on for a few seconds then stars blinking.
What can i do in this situation? Throw a brand new phone from the window?

did you drained your battery till its fully dead ?
now you need to charge it (boost) at a certain point for it to turn on
you need minimal of 3.6v on your battery to power on the phone.
you can see the voltage in your battery with a multimeter
i had this problem, I drained my battery completely, when I plug it in, the led flashing 11 times last 3 flashes are slow then goes dark.
(my battery had only 2,80v, and i had to boosted to 3.6v)
the original charger has an output 0f 3.6v, i was lucky to have a external batery charger, and it has 4,9v output, so was a little faster to boost my battery,
but this process can take hours.

1. Take a spare usb cable.
2. cut it from between.
3. Peel two wires black and red from tip.
4. connect black to (-) point and red to (+) point on batt and secure it via tape.
5. plug it in any power source usb or charger.
6. lve for 20 mins have coffee.
7. remove it and put in fone.
8. Last shot as its almost discharged keep charger plugged in till it rches 50 then flash new recovery.
9. Buy me coke.....coz i dt like beer

Sorry i missed that part. Thank you for great info. Now I can use my phone again
@mishufac, what did you exactly missed? After everything u did not upgrade CWM? I am about to do with mine so just wanted to be dead sure please reply
Last night I ran my battery down to the point where it said Powering Off or whatever. I charged it all night and nothing. When I plug it in, sometimes it has a red LED in the upper left for a econd or two, then does one vibrate, then becomes completely unresponsive.
I've tried a battery pull and hooking it up that way. Same thing - red LED, one vibrate, then nothing. Some times when it is plugged in, it will show a battery picture with no juice for just a second then it all goes blank again.
I am running AOKP build 4 with Slim Kernel.
HELP!!!!!!!!!
I would try another battery, sounds like the one that you have us showing up as dead even after charging overnight.

Just unplug the phone... pull the battery... put the battery back in and WITHOUT plugging the phone in turn the phone back on (may have to hold the power button for a little while).
Strange plugging in the phone without a battery should bring up the charging screen with a question mark in it I think
So the problem has been remedied, though I would like a little input to better document this problem and solution...
I took the battery out, plugged the phone in, then popped the battery in. Really quickly, I got it to enter the weird screen where it is an exclamation point in a yield sign (I forget what combination of buttons I pushed to get here). It said Volume up to continue or Volume down to do something else. This is where it was fuzzy because I was freaking out about having to buy another phone.
Anyways, I hit the volume button that was supposed to reboot and it went through the boot sequence and showed me charging at 98%. This is strange because it was plugged in all night but non-responsive - not power, no heat, no nothing.
So long story short, if running this ROM/Kernel combo - DO NOT LET THIS THING GO TO 0%!!!
And if anyone can tell me what combo I pressed to enter that screen, it would be very helpful. Thanks guys!
The screen you got to is called Download Mode..
Download Mode - This is a setting in which you will put your phone when using Odin. There are other ways, but most people will reach download mode by powering down, removing the battery, and holding volume down while plugging the factory usb cord into the computer and phone. Odin can only communicate properly with your phone if the phone is in download mode.
For future reference you have to
1. hold volume down + power + home button
2. Per on screen instructions, press volume down to reboot/restart device.
This is a documented problem and one that has been posted about numerous times, glad you figured it out. Also, this will always fix the problem so you should not worry if the phone running this ROM/Kernel combo runs down to 0%.
too bad samsung doesn't have a genius bar.....lol
HI
I am a new android user, i bought an HTC Sensation 4g from ebay, used it for a couple of times without having any issues. One day i switched it off with enough battery remaining and did not get time to use my cell again for a couple of days. Now when i turn it on, it wont power up nor would show if its charging (even the yellow LED does not come on or blink or change color), did a lot of research and tried everything i could do, Here's is what have i done so far
0) tried charging it with wall charger/computer
1) changed battery
2) left my phone connected to wall charger with the battery in
3) left the phone without battery connected to wall charger (i believe that is jump starting??)
4) factory resetting by holding volume down and power button
5) tried adb rebooting (every time i got the same message device not found)
My device is not being recognized by HTC Sync nor does my laptop show any sign of its presence.
What do i do???? please Helppp!:crying:

There are several threads on this subject, which also give advice on what to try. In your case I'd suggest either your battery has failed, best case scenario, or your motherboard has suffered instant death syndrome - in which case you might get a warranty repair from HTC if your phone is eligible.

yep i went through most of them but they have rooted or have dun sumthing, i did nothing of the sort,
i bought anker battery from ebay with my sensation, tried both my original and anker's but the phone wont power up,does this mean my motherboard is suffering from instant death syndrome(lol i m a doc myself and liked it of course the term not the syndrome itself )

Most probably, ring HTC with your serial number and they will tell you if the warranty is still valid.
My device did this once. It wouldn't even show charging light when plugged in ! But I had another full battery for a spare and tried it and it came back to life again! But you a already tried that right? I'd say then it's not the battery. Most likely the instant death. Hopefully you can return it to HTC. If not I would definitely return it to the seller and request a refund of your money! Hope this helps. Best wishes

i have same problem did u get solution to this problem?
Your phone most likely rooted
Hi your phone most likely rooted. Had the same issue when I have replaced the bootloader. Unfortunately there is no good bootloader for this phone out there for rooting that does not cause this problem. You need to unroot your phone, replace the bootloader back to original and relock the S off to S on. But im going ahead of myself. First you need to turn it on and this is how. At least its worked for me every time. There's a trick that need to be repeated twice.
1. Disconnect charger,
2.Remove the battery,
3. press power button few times to discharge all electricity that left in the phone.
4. Now its need to be done quickly press and hold power button,
5. while holding connect the battery,
6. then connect the charger.
7. Keep holding power button for 2 more seconds and release
8. wait 1 more second and press power button repeatedly until you see the green led blinking. Repeat if led does not blink.
That will jump start the relay to switch to charge mode. At that point it will charge but won't show it properly.
9.Charge for 10 to 15 minutes its need to reach 1% it does that very slowly at this point. Do NOT wait more than 15 minutes because after that relay switches off starts to release electricity back to charger overpowering it with amps.
10. After 10 to 15 minutes repeat steps 1 trough 8. This time it will turn on instead.
11. Look online for steps how to fully unroot, replace bootloader and lock the S chip. I know that the steps a little unorthodox but it Work. Hope its helps. P.S Sorry for unprofessional English im not American.
Hello,
Two days ago, i was on a plane and my htc ons s S3 turn off due to battery go to less than 5% and loses all power, when i came to home i try to charge it but the LED still off and when i pressing the Power key does not turn on the device, i have left more than 5h and the issue still here.
if i remove the battery and than try to charge it with an externel adaptater sector, it will be charged or not ?
Please any idea ?
You might have to leave it alone on charge for at least 15-30 minutes until the LED shows up. Then you should be able to power it on.

I have already leave at all the night, the LED is up but i think the phone is not charging, when i try to power on it, nothing happened.
When a put the sector to the phone, the LED flash about 10s with orange color, and than it's still off for some time and it's turn on (orange color) but no charge on the battery.
Have you tried to boot to hboot while charging(hold vol down and hold power same time).
If you plug into pc does it show up or do anything in pc.

Not working
Have you tried holding the power button down for 10+ seconds?
The only other thing I can think of is something has frozen, maybe you can leave it off charge for a day or two until the battery is really completely flat, then charge it for a few hours without turning it on, then see what happens?
Thanks for all,
It's work now
but believe me I heated my phone around 7min because I'm in a very cold city now and when i touch the phone i find it very cold so i decided to put it near from a fireplace and it's work juste after.

Yeah, so the battery got drained, and now the phone will not respond to anything.
Pwr-btn + both volume-btn for ~20 sec did nothing. Will not take a charge from either PC or adapter.
I will be leaving it overnight in the charger.

Hold vol+ vol- & pwr buttons for ~20s
Hold pwr button for ~30s

It should go into Recovery, if you keep holding.
How long does it take to go into recovery mode ? I have been holding it for 5 mins now.

Not to be skeptical or anything but how do you hold down the home button on a phone with soft keys when the phone is off?
---------- Post added at 11:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:52 AM ----------
I had a similar problem too, but I was too impatient to try the methods that required waiting for days. I voided my warranty by opening the phone, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting then closing back my phone. The battery started charging afterwards.
If you decide to go this route, i suggest you lookup information on nokia 3 disassembly so as not to mistakenly mess anything up
Well... I bought a nokia 3 today and after only 2 hours of use, wich included 2 software updates (from 7.0 to 7.1.1 and a november security patch) phone turned off, it was like 48% battery and sudenly it turned off.
After a couple of minutes I connected it to the charger and it's charging now, it says battery is 0% charged, so it went from 48% to 0% instantly. Appearently battery calibration is way off in this phone, just like the first generation of android phones when samsung and other brands didn't know how to make android work properly. I'm completely sure it's software related so hope they fix this in the next update soon.
