Needing some help before i take my 2 day old S6 back to the shop with my tail between my legs!!
i have an unlocked SM-G920F bought from o2, and was trying to flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/development/rom-tyrannus-rom-v1-0-31-07-2015-t3169760 . i've been flashing custom roms for as long as i can remember, and all the usual procedures were followed. all usb drivers are installed/updated etc. tried different ports/cables/odin versions
the problem basically started as soon as i tried flashing the bootloader and modem, odin came up with a pass, but when my phone restarted it showsSYSTEM REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE:2, BINARY:1
now, i can't get into recovery mode at all. i then tried flashing these stock roms (except the 5.0.2) from sam mobile http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G920F/O2U/ using odin, but they all fail at NAND Write. i then also tried the emergency recovery option using smart switch, which also fails.
so now, all i can really do is boot into download mode and nothing else, odin recognises my phone, but doesnt write anything to it.
when im in download mode i get this display:
ODIN MODE
Product name: SM-G920F
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Reactivation Lock: OFF
Secure Download: ENABLED
KNOX warranty void 1 (0x0301)
RP SWREV: B:3 K:2 S:2

I have a rooted android device samsung galaxy s3 and it was running fine and everything till one day it said to install an update. i accepted it and while it was updating all of a sudden it went to that black screen and says, " system software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off you phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help." Then thats where i couldn't do anyting with my phone but go to download/ODIN MODE and rebooting system thing where you can reboot system. IM very new and i don't know much about rooting and the meanings of a lot of words like unlock bootloader. If i go to ODIN MODE it says
ODINE MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-1535
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (1 Counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
Warranty bit: 1
BOOTLOADER RP SWREV:1
i think this doesn't look good. WHat should i do to make my phone be working again and not showing that black screen.
I already wiped all data and tried to do that StockROm thing on my computer ODIN and still nothing.
Is my bootloader locked? if so do i need to unlock it to make my phone work again? Thanks so much for your time
Same with mine I think it's called a bricked phone and think there is nothing we can do about it, hopefully someone has a solution
Might Work?

I dunno if this will work for you. But I had the same message and when I booted in Download mode I just hit Cancel then rebooted and it worked?
If you flashed cyanogenmod, that means you're bootloader is unlocked, which is a good thing.
Can you get into CWM or TWRP? I don't have a samsung so i don't know about ODIN (i presume it's like flashtools for Xperia).
For as long as your phone vibrates (or does pretty much anything when you boot it up) your phone is not hardbricked, which is also good .
Try getting into CWM, shut down your phone completely, wait 5 seconds, then do: Volume Down + Home + Power key . This will get you into bootloader state and try reflashing your old backup, a stock rom or cyanogenmod.
First time with these softbricks is always the most fun ^^. Been there done that, i thought i spend 250 euro's on a phone that was broken .
Btw. Always make a backup for these kind of situations.

You took the 4.3 update. You must now Odin to stock 4.3 to unbrick, do not Odin to any other (previous) version. There is a safe root method.
I do not think there is custom recovery and bootloader is now permalocked.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270191 has a link to the odin file and the root method in post 2 or 3 i believe.
Ok how do i get it?

I just recently ODIN flashed the latest 4.3 stock firmware for my TMO GS3 and then attempted to roll back to 4.1.2. It didn't brick my device, but it didn't work either. I would simply fail to install. I was able to reflash, through ODIN, the 4.3 stock firmware (actually used the root66 version). Then I was able to ODIN flash CWM recovery and install Dandroid 5.1, which is also a 4.3 based ROM. All is well now. I guess I simply can't go back to any previous 4.3 ROMs now, and I'm not sure about any AOSP ROMs. I may give a try at some point to see.

My Sprint Galaxy S5 will only show the above no matter what I try. I had just rooted my new phone and I was trying to install TWRP. I must have made an error. In my search others have had the same problem however, when I tried their fix it did not work for me. I reran root using Odin3 but no luck. In an other post they said to put these 2 files "firasusman and META-INF" on an external sd card and flash them using the custom recovery. Unfortunately I don't have access to any recovery. The only thing I can do is get my phone in ,is download mode with Oden3.
When in download mode in the upper left corner of my phone it says -
"odin mode
product name: SM-G900P
current binary: custom
system status: custom
knox warranty void 0x1 (4)"
So I guess no warrenty if there is no fix. Obviously I would be extremely grateful for any help.
Thank you
OK, so I just got a new LG G3 and I'm in the process of trying to reset my GS3.
Not long after I got the phone, I tried to root it (rather unsuccessfully). Didn't work out, so I restored to stock. Used the phone for the next 2 years or so with no issues.
Went to reset the phone and I got the unauthorized software warning.
I have now tried to restore to a stock ROM via ODIN V3.09 but I keep getting a fail at aboot.mbn.
What kind of information do you need to assist?
Thank you in advance!
Still searching the forum... still trying...

I'm trying again but using this file this time:

OK, seems to be working perfectly now!
Much thanks to "BadUsername" for his diagnosis of the problem and providing a link to the correct tar ball!!!!

I am trying to restore my AT&T Galaxy S7 (G930A) back to the stock firmware. I am stuck going to the boot-loader menu and do not have an OS on it. The phone is on the latest update as of November 5th. I have downloaded and tried to flash nearly every firmware for the G930A and every time i try to flash them in Odin it either says failed, SHA256, or Fail Model dis match fail All threads completed. (succeed 0/ failed 1). If anyone could point me to a firmware that would work that would be amazing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for coming across as a noob this is my first post.
And when I go downloading mode it shows
Odin mode high speed
Product name sm-g930a
Current binary - Samsung Official
System status custom
Fap lock on
Warranty voided 0x0
Qualcomm secure boot enabled
Rp swrev: b4 (2,1,1,1 ) k1 s3

Good evening,
I am currently deciding whether or not this is actually fixable, i'm trying to help a friend out who soft bricked a SM-T820 Samsung S3 WIFI. Upon booting it goes direct to the bootloader with this error message:
ODIN: Flash read failure
ERROR: There is no pit binary.
RECOVERY BOOTING…
DLL: MMC_READ FAILED
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-T820
CURRENT BINARY: Secure Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
FRP LOCK: OFF
OEM LOCK: ON
DID: 03ea98ebf9cf
WARRANTY VOID: 0xffffffff
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
I have yet to get my hands on the tablet because they live out of province but I will be visiting soon. Based off the given information, is this considered fixable by chance with a re-flashed PIT File and system image. Just trying to get some ideas on the repair process before proceeding.
Thanks,
Axe

According to the info you have provided they were trying to/or did try to change the system files e.g: rooting
yes the partition is missed up so you will need a pit file with a full stock rom to flash.
yes, as you said you need a PIT file and a repairing frimware.
try with another cable also.
report back when you have a chance to see what we can do.
