I guess if you don't care about the difference in price, ~$200 for an unlocked device.

As much as that would be a great reason since I have to wait for TELUS to get it anyways cause I can't afford to by it out it does not help me make a choice in this case other then it should still be cheaper.

It was a tough choice, but since the rumor that the N5 is getting a 3000MAh battery was getting debunked, I decided to go with the G2 a few days ago. I might get the N5 as a backup phone if it's announcement impresses me.
If I were to choose a N5 over the G2, it be for the pure google experience, even if i'd say LG's skin is decent.
The lg g2 got the WORST review of any android flagship phone.
It has been discovered that it has carrierID (evil).
We might (my speculation) see a Google edition g2 in the future, I'd get that over a n5 or a regular g2

Definitely N5 for me...Cheaper, decent specs and...Google exprience !
A Nexus device is better than skinned one, gonna get it as soon as I can and sell my Note 3.

Well I'm in the same situation as OP, my family is just got off contract with Sprint and we going prepaid trail. So i was sold on G2 before i heard that Nexus 5 is about to get released. So i decided to patiently wait for N5.
Why would i wait? Because I want to always have latest Android os as soon as it released. Because price is cheaper.

Knox is tripped by flashing a Rom or recovery. When u go back to stock the knox is still tripped and u can't change it back to normal. Samsung uses this as an excuse to void ur warranty.
It's some bs that makes me disappointed with Samsung because I wanted the phone for a while but if I can't flash a Rom and totally go back to stock for warranty then it ruins the fun

Oh I see. Well if its warranty reason then I can totally understand but as far as device vs device I really cannot see how the Nexus 5 can compete against the Note 3. My 2 cents.

Given that the Nexus 5 and LG G2 will be similar, is it reasonable to expect that the battery life on the Nexus 5 will be awesome too?
im still debating
I think at this point as long as the nexus 5 gets announced this week I am getting it. If we get no word from Google then I am done waiting.

New to nexus 5 on tmobile

Can I flash any ROM listed here? I came from at&t Galaxy s3 and if I flashed a rom from a different carrier I would brick the phone. Thank you!

Yes you can. The Nexus 5 sold by T-Mobile is the exact same as the Play Store.
Yep! The Nexus 5 on different carriers is the exact same phone. No changes at all. Every ROM works no matter which carrier.

Nexus 5 serial mismatch

Nexus 5 different serial in box and phone!
Hi, first, thanks for read
I bought a nexus 5 use, the phone was originally purchased in t-mobile and we used for over a month, so the phone is like new...
The problem is :
In the box of the nexus 5, in one side we have a etiquette with some information, serial, imei, etc.... the serial that appear in the box is different to the serial that appear in the phone in bootloader
but the imei that appear in the box is the same imei that appear in the phone
i dont know if i should add pics because is important information, but im pretty sure that the serials are diferents and the imei are the same..
I dont know what to do, i will contact lg support tomorrow...
any ideas?
and btw a dead pixel appear, maybe is a defective unit
its normal, how it is usually. the imei is the important number.

The one on the phone is the CSSN and the one on the box is the SSN.

No it's USA warranty only. I believe if you can get a US shipping address, you can get a RMA.

[Q] Buy Nexus 5 or wait for 6?

I am planning to buy a new android phone and shortlisted Nexus 5 and Xperia ZR. I think Nexus 5 would be a better choice because of its large development support but question in my mind is "Is it worth waiting for Nexus 6?". There is no fixed date for Nexus 6 but hopefully it will be announced in Q4 of this year. Please suggest, should i buy nexus 5 or wait for nexus 6? Is it worth waiting for?
From my research cons of nexus 5 that i don't want to get with are: Battery life and Camera. And both of these might get upgraded in Nexus 6.
Thanks in advance.
We don't even know if there will be a 6. The rumour mill says not. Its an impossible question

Google confirmed that the nexus program isn't going anywhere. There probably will be a successor to the nexus 5,it would only make sense since android L supports 64 bit, maybe even put more than 3gb. Who knows, it's all speculation

Afaik google only confirmed the nexus tablet range. But as we both said it's all speculation so it would be ridiculous to try and base any purchasing decision on an unknown future.

Should i go for nexus 5 then? The thing that is making me worried about nexus is its battery, is there any way i can fix it?
Or i should go for something else?
The battery is fine. Go for what you want. Read reviews. Its pretty old now. Only 9 months left of updates.

Iphone 6s plus

Just curious to know if anyone who currently owns a note 5 is returning it for the 6s?
what drove you to this decision if so?
Man, I cannot imagine why anyone would do that. This phone is so vastly superior.

This review favors the Note, but man it doesn't even begin to outline the difference in capabilities. This thing is a productivity pro! The split screen stuff, 8 cores, massive RAM, scrolling screen shots, 2000+ pressure sensitivities, note-taking from screen nearly off, etc... Just amazing.
I own the Note 5 and will be owning the 6S Plus since they both have Nano Sims and easy sim swapping for the monthly bill of one phone

I'm going to wait until someone is willing to trade an 6s or 6s plus for the note 5, then I will trade for the iPhone. Then I will sell the iPhone when the huawei nexus gets released.

I want root too...but pure Android? Hell no. Pure Android is like Vanilla ice cream without all the nice toppings and flavoring drizzled on top. The first thing I usually do when I root a new Android phone is to install a custom ROM with unique or interesting features or customization options. I'm more of a power user, so the minimalistic approach seems insanely boring to me, especially if it's on a phone with high specs like this one, which could be able to handle some additional workload/features.
thanks for the replies, ill be keeping my note 5 as well. Maybe purchase the 6s as a second phone to play with in time!
What's the point of a second phone? What can the 6s do that you'd be unable to do with this phone?

My wife has the 6s, and I have the note 5. I don't want her phone because I prefer Android.
There's more than just capabilities.
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
I had the 6 plus for about 2 months and like my Note 5 way more. I can't imagine the 6s plus is much of an improvement. Definitely not enough to go back to iOS.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0b-FcR5KD8 cracked open apple iphone 6s
I have both phone (for work) and I can say the Note 5 is more for power user...those that want to customized their home screen, tweak settings. The iphone 6s plus is just as good though... I'm not going to knock it. It has a good camera...I use it for social media app and tons of games.
Like others my wife has an iphone 6s plus. I had the choice to switch to the 6s plus also but decided to stay with the Note 5. The S-pen is a big draw for me. I find I use the S-pen more than my finger. It gives me a lot more control then my finger does especially when using calendar applications such as Pocket Informant
I also find that the note 5 is extremely fast and shows no sign of any sort of lag. Keep in mind I am using package disabler Pro to turn off software or bloatware that I don't need.
Just the fact that I have the option to disable bloatware or programs that I don't use or want is a reason for me to stay with the Note 5 over the iPhone 6 plus.
The only disappointment I have with the note 5 is the aggressive memory management. I have no idea if Samsung plans to fix this or not. I really hate how the bootloader is locked down on this Verizon version and therefore I can't make a simple change that would fix the problem. If the bootloader was unlocked on the Verizon note 5 it would be hands down the best Android device I have ever used.
