Gear s2 sport rotation bezel - Samsung Gear S2

I got my gear s2 on October 2nd. I really like the watch and I've enjoyed using it a lot. Now, I may be crazy but I swear the rotating bezel was rotating much easily (less pressure applied) the first couple of days. Lately, I feel like I need to put a little too much pressure on the bezel to rotate it l with one finger. Has anyone else noticed this? Rotating the bezel feels less clicky to me now.

I owned mine for a week before I returned it and my experience has been the opposite. The bezel started off stiffer then it became easier to rotate as days went by.

Mine has gotten a bit easier, rather than stiffer after 10 days.

Is the corner of the phone too sharp/digging into your palm?

When I hold the phone with the corner of it touching my palm it feels sharp and "poky". I've noticed it as soon as I took it out of the box, at first I thought it might be the protective stickers but no that wasn't it. The back doesn't seem to be perfectly flush with the sides at the corners, just enough to be a bit annoying when in hand.
Is anyone else noticing this? I'm coming from S4 which was really nice in hand, even with the "cheap" plastic.
yes a bit annoying to me and i am wondering whether i should put a case on it to fix this problem.

I just opened my box and it's the first thing I noticed like a pinching on my palm. The back is too sharp and the side of the phone is inset. A big problem for me because it's annoying every time I use it! Arghh.. The other first impressions are great though! I'm gonna send mine back.. I guess.. Just not enjoyable to use it.
Never noticed anything like that. The white phone felt great in the hand. Just always feel like I'm going to drop it so I put on a case. Still feels awesome.

I've had to alter how I would normally hold a phone of this size for it to feel comfortable in my hands. It's feels more angular then any other smartphone I've owned, although it doesn't look it.
On mine, the back lower left corner is a little sharp as if the back plate is poking my hands a little. But to the eye it looks OK.

I'm guessing you have the black one? White one is great on the hand

i have a white one
No issues with the black one here. Very smooth all round and comfortable to hold. Feels much nicer than the samsungs too me. And surprisingly feels nicer than the N4 did too.
Any injuries reported from this yet?

Lmao, definitely something a little minor to complain about. I also noticed the bottom right corner of the phone doing this depending on how I grip the phone. But when I check the corners to see if they are uneven or off they seem to be fine. I'll post up here if I end up in the ER with a pinch injury...

Help! Bezel Rotation Broken?

I purchased my Gear S2 on release day last month, and so far all has been good up until yesterday.
I was turning the bezel to check my notifications, and noticed it started to get really stiff. To the point where it was nearly impossible to turn it. I turned it a bit harder and it started turning again, still controlling the device, but there was no longer any "clicks" that the bezel usually makes when scrolling through things and it was still really stiff and hard to turn. No matter which way I turned it. It also started producing bits and pieces of some sort of rubber from underneath the bezel that I could somewhat pull off. You can feel the stainless steel grinding when you rotate it now, which is really concerning me. I'm thinking whatever mechanism helps the bezel rotate underneath somehow broke and I'm not sure what to do at this point. The device is still fully functional, but the bezel is nearly unusable, and that's kind of the reason I bought the Gear S2.
Any suggestions? I bought it from Best Buy off-contract on October 2nd.
Any ideas?

Send it back and claim warranty?
Call samsung support
Just to anyone who might come across this thread with the same problem, I took the device to the Best Buy that I purchased it from and they were able to exchange it because it was still under warranty

I called Samsung with a similar issue. My bezel hasn't gotten stiff yet but the indicator "white dot" that goes around the watch face while turning the bezel sometimes goes the wrong way while scrolling through apps or reading email . This is only my 5th day with the watch. I love it BUT...I'm afraid this will get worse the longer I have it. I bought the watch from AT&T full retail. AT&T does not want to swap it and Samsung wants me to send it in for repair. I'm still within the 14 day return window at AT&T so I may just do that. Even though it will cost me $35 to do that :/
You will need to exchange it. I think what may have happened is that sand or grit has gotten under the bezel. This can happen even with a Swiss watch. The fact that it is hard to turn is usually an indication of this happening.
This has happened to mine after only 1 week. And I'm very gentle with it. The bezel is impossible to turn. I got the 3G version.
Fixed
When my Gear S2 started to feel resistive I used less than a drop of Super Lube around the rotating ring and worked it in a little. Better than new now. Rotates smooth with that sweet notch feel. I'm never without a pen super lube precision oiler in my pocket while at work. Part Number 51010. Amazon.

I wouldn't use an oil based lubricant on the bezel of the Gear S2. As was discussed in another thread, the Gear S2 is IP68 water resistant, which means it probably has a rubber seal underneath the bezel. Oil based lubricants may damage rubber seals and gaskets, so it is probably better to just rinse the watch with warm water. Since the Gear S2 is IP68 water resistant, holding it under the faucet and turning the bezel won't harm it. When my bezel gets sticky, I usually just take the band off and hold it under the kitchen faucet while turning the bezel.
The bezel has completely come off my s2 at some point and is lost. I've written to Samsung support and they wrote back with 3 suppliers ..... Useless information as they don't do any spares for the s2 ...... So I'm in limbo . In my opinion Samsung after care is rubbish

gun oil fixed the issue every time it gets hard put a lil in the cracks n turn it
just rinse the watch in water it will clear the dust and dirt under the bezel and it will go back to working fine
The same exact issue has happened to my galaxy watch. That is how I found this thread and im sure others will be searching too so im replying even though its old. The bezel would stick and I would force it to turn and it would be fine and then small black chunks of some type of plastic began appearing from underneath it so I spent some time turning it over and over again and then removing these chunks and it has worked just fine since it stopped producing the black chunks of whatever. It seems like some type of plastic. I was thinking the backing from an adhesive tape but at the same time hoping it was not part of a gasket to keep water out. I wear the galaxy watch in the shower and so far it has been fine. This is my first switch from apple to Samsung and have gone through 3 first gen apple watches because the screen randomly falls off. I was not expecting to have issues with a near $400 Samsung watch. as long as its still waterproof then there really is not an issue but I would like to know what is coming out of my watch and why...It doesn't seem like a major issue so far though.

From my understanding the bezels operate by ceramic ball bearings what ever color. Which also means there has to be some kind of springs inside as well to Hold appropriate pressure on the ball bearing to give the rolling clicks. I am a mechanic so dirt grease and grime are everyday things for my watch and up til recently I rinse mine randomly to get the gunk out

How is your gear s3 holding up from daily abuse?

Just curious how well everyone's device is holding up since it has been out for a while?
Scratches and dings on the case? Screen?
Have you been babying it or using it like a normal watch through the course of work and personal time (gym, kids, housework)?

After 9 months of use, not taking them off while I worked on car or in my workshop, took them for a few hikes and hit some rocks and trees, I also hit quite a few door handles with them and all marks of the hit disappeared after a few days (I was quite surprised by that), I took them off only for showers (I am still worried about soap and shower gel reacting with water insulation) and when it needs to be charged, there is only one small scratch on the bezel that is pretty much possible to see only from one angle and I actually have no idea where it came from. So yeah it is in much better condition than I had expected to be after this much time. The original watch band though is in a little bit worse condition and in one part the texture on top is slowly disappearing and turns from matte to shiny and there are some scratches in the rubber.

Question Screen Crease on Flip 4

For those who are interested?
I've had the Flip 4 for almost 24 hours, and can say for me, the crease is definitely less noticable compared to my Flip 3.
Less of a dip in the fold area when running your finger up and down the screen
Hmm, I hadn't actually really looked at the crease yet (still setting up all my apps etc) but the fact I hadn't noticed it is probably a good sign!
Now that I compare them side by side, the crease does look and feel smaller. Not sure if its because of the old one being a little more 'worn in' but still. Nice.

My Flip4 crease is much less noticable compared to my Flip3. Yay!
I have forgotten that the crease was even there
Just got mine, crease is a non issue for me. Love the form factor, may never go back to full size... Unless phone doesn't hold up
My flip 3 was only about a month old, so I think it's a good comparison. The flip 4 is much less noticable when looking at it, and much less perceptible when sliding my finger over it. Much improved!
Ă€gree. I never had a Flip before to compare vs older generations but after 15 minutes of use... i dont notice it, only when the display is off tbh.
I'll go with this. I despised the idea of flips until recently I got the z4. Head on you can't even see it. And after a couple days I can brush over it and don't even pay any mind to it.
It is unnatural and sickening scrolling face book at a 90 degree angle though

General General Feedback

I thought I would open this thread up to discussions on general feedback, positive and negative about people's hands on experience with the flip4.
This is my first ever foldable and so far I am enjoying it, the cameras are quite decent unless you are somewhat of an enthusiast, battery life is good compared to my old S10+ and heating only seems to be an issue if I am say downloading a large file with the phone folded. It handles heavy gaming quite well, the snapdragon 8+ gen 1 does a fantastic job.
I didn't think I would like the side mounted finger print sensor but I've found that not being underdisplay makes it much more responsive, it gets my finger first time even by accident sometimes!
I find my self less distracted aswell, I can simply view and read notifications from the small screen and don't find myself mindlessly scrolling through apps as much because the phone is folded.
A few negatives, it feels more narrow and long than my s10+ which took a bit to get used to. Also the screen seems to be a dust magnet, I'm finding myself having to wipe the screen several times a day, I guess it's the type of material the supplied screen protector is made of.
The crease can be very distracting and annoying when watching videos, I find myself having to hold it at certain angles sometimes just so I can't see the crease and glare from it.
Would be interested to hear other peoples thoughts and experiences.
I've had my Flip for about 3 weeks now, and while on the whole I've been happy, I just noticed today that one of the bumpers on my bezel has fallen off. I feel like a $1k phone shouldn't have an issue like that after less than a month.

Yeah I feel like that is a defect and something samsung should fix for free! Especially for such an expensive phone. My bumpers look attached quite well and show no signs of coming off. Did you ask samsung about it?

I talked with Samsung Support and they are fixing it via Asurion.
I know no one here is waiting with baited breath, but I had to send my device in to Samsung to get the bezel fixed, and after a week, it was sent back, and NOTHING was fixed. Ugh.
I see you're a cyclist. What is your experience with the Z Flip while cycling? I tried it out in the store because I was hoping for a compact phone to take pictures during my bicycle rides. But I found that taking pictures with the cover screen camera felt very clumsy.
