I new here - General Topics

Hey everyone. I'm the new guy here. I'm not a programmer or anything. I've been reading xda for years. Finally decided to join in on all of the fun. Figured I might be able to help people and be helped myself. I currently live and am from Ohio. I've used android phones since the D1 and currently use the Blu studio 7.0 2nd version on the att network.
I run a blog, love working on cars and computers. I am 30 years old. Have 1 daughter 15 months old and have twins on the way, due April 3dd of next year. I read all of the rules, don't want to get in trouble lol. Hope to meet a lot of people on here that have the same interests as I do!
Nice to meet all of you!

Heya, great forum folks, thanks.

I run a forum of my own for the Kia Soul, can't seem to post any links, so I won't try here, but it is SoulHamsters dot com.
I'm a disabled US Army Vet, and work as a GIS Specialist for the US Government.
Anyways, been a member here for quite some time now, lurking and reading on the down low, but love my new MT3GS, and want to participate in the discussions about it.
Always been a good site, and I hope I can add a bit to it.

MT3GS? Wat?
Anyways, if it's 32b, you'll probably find better reception in the G1 section as most Sapphire people are 32a.
Isn't that what folks are calling the Mytouch 3G Slide?

hi!

my name is dale,
sorry if this is the wrong part of the forum, ive been looking for a newby forum and wanted to introduce myself however its friday and im starting to get tipsy! this site has helped me upgrade my battery pack, and internal memory on my htc hd7, and even replace my screen! i just wanted to say thank you and contribute where possible. ive been looking at wp8 and think its awesome! considering my 3 year old wp7 keeps up with quite a few modern phones with its mods i cant wait to see what the wp8 does. i just wanted to say THANK YOU XDA! no one will even try to argue with me about phones anymore... they only know how to buy them.
i read on a random thread while looking for the newby forum that i can take 10 questions that will show m not a spammer, would anyone mind helping me out with that? this site is HUGE! and also does anyone know of a screachingly fast single core processor/motherboard that will fit my phone? its about due for an upgrade too! or if someone has found a twin core+ that will work with windows 7 devices i'm open for ideas! no unlocking though, im not willing to deal with all of the glitches that come with that.
thanks,
dale

New Member - just a little introduction

Dear XDA-Forum,
Even though I registered on this website almost a year ago, I never posted anything, I've been using your site as a source of knowledge.
I'm a 40 year old noob, father of two wonderful kids and owner of 2 android devices (I almost mixed up kids and devices here...:angel.
I'm very interested into Android Programming (trying to learn Java in my spare time) and I was a hardcore gamer (b4 kids). I also like building computers, a passion that has come to stop for obvious reasons, and I'm very much into watersports (windsurfing...don't be dirty minded).
Damn, I feel a bit ridiculous telling all this about me now
Ah, I almost forgot, I own a HTC Sensation and a Hannspad.
Hopefully I can be of help and be helped around here.
See you around,
Cheers,
Ken
Not here, there is a Hi or hello thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961655

Chromebook Forum?

So, I've been using XDA for a while now (longer than since August, I didn't create an account until a while after I started using it.) and I really like it here. The only thing is, I bought a Chromebook online a yesterday and it'll be here in a few days and I realized there are no forums here.
I looked on Google and found a few websites with forums but they have tiny userbases and well, like I said I like it here. Also, I've seen the work that people on here can do, I can't even begin to imagine what great things would become of the Chromebook with developers like these.
It's just a suggestion, but I think a forum for the Chromebook lineup would be good..

I think that would be cool too. Just got my Chromebook last week on the 27th and was Googling for a forum first thing I Googled was "Chromebook forum xda" lol... found this thread. I could join another forum but it'd be nice to stay here for all my devices
This is a mobile device forum, a laptop is not a mobile device. You don't see a Windows 7 forum or a MacBook forum.
There is a Windows 8 forum because there are Windows 8 tablets.

Time to bid goodbye

Firstly to be frank I'm not good with farewells n all but still I'm saying coz this community has given me a lot :good: Well the time has come for me to move on as I got my Nexus 4 yesterday Its not that I will not keep peeing around occasionally as I am not going to sell my Atrix 2..for 2 reasons mainly...its my 1st Android device and 2nd that its simply awesome for what it is My mom will be using Atrix 2 from now on and I will be with my Nexus 4
I want to thank all the devs without whom it would not be possible to progress with such a locked device. Also this device has great potential for a complete device and had it not been for work of devs and the senior members it would not have be as awesome as it is today Also for other members I will like to express my gratitude as without you peeps there wont be any community
All the best and Thanks everyone,
Regards,
PS : Was using and will be using MIUI as my permanent ROM on A2
See you in the N4 forum, my friend.
Bye.
