my name is dale,
sorry if this is the wrong part of the forum, ive been looking for a newby forum and wanted to introduce myself however its friday and im starting to get tipsy! this site has helped me upgrade my battery pack, and internal memory on my htc hd7, and even replace my screen! i just wanted to say thank you and contribute where possible. ive been looking at wp8 and think its awesome! considering my 3 year old wp7 keeps up with quite a few modern phones with its mods i cant wait to see what the wp8 does. i just wanted to say THANK YOU XDA! no one will even try to argue with me about phones anymore... they only know how to buy them.
i read on a random thread while looking for the newby forum that i can take 10 questions that will show m not a spammer, would anyone mind helping me out with that? this site is HUGE! and also does anyone know of a screachingly fast single core processor/motherboard that will fit my phone? its about due for an upgrade too! or if someone has found a twin core+ that will work with windows 7 devices i'm open for ideas! no unlocking though, im not willing to deal with all of the glitches that come with that.
thanks,
dale

Hey,
I'm sure this has been posted 1,000 times, but I am wondering a couple things about upgrading from my current Hermes. It is really buggy and seems to be failing(the LCD has problems, etc)
Should I wait for the HTC Touch Pro? Money isn't really a factor for me, so I don't mind a steep price on a phone, but with mine currently starting to fail, I would love to get a new one before school starts in mid-August(I surf the net all day in class ).
So what are my best options from now or before Mid-August if anything is coming out that soon? Should I just go for the Kaiser?
Are there any other forums? I keep posting my problem with my phone, and I have posted asking what I can upgrade since there is no one to help with the problem, and I also don't get anything helpful there. I try to look it up, but most of the websites are geared towards what is best for kids and casual users instead of people looking for better devices that can be useful
I mean it'd be helpful if you were in the right subsection

this is for the HTC Hermes/8525, they should help you there. if not then check the wiki. thanks.
Yes, I have posted there, and no replies to my problem(posted twice, months apart) or my upgrading help really.
Thanks anyways man, I just thought this section may have some traffic and/or help available, my bad for posting it in the wrong section
Hi Guys,
Well first to give you a backgroud I have been a diehard nokia fan for the last 10 years but in the new decade wanted something new so got myself a Windows Phone -- HTC HD2.
But still fighting my way out of the nokia phase. So if any of u may be kind enough to share their knowledge of how to make my honeymoon with HTC a memorable one I would more than appreciate your time and knowledge.
thanks in advance
Here is the first suggestion, stop creating useless threads and polls that clog up our forum. Because people will just get annoyed and not want to help you with reak queastions and problems.
Secondly, read the leo wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Leo
and the leo forums, http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=532
familiarize yourself with phone and then come back and ask specific questions about your phone and people will be glad to answer them for you.
I suggest you wait a few months, there will be a lot of nice phones out there from HTC! And if you can't wait, I should go for the HD2, which is probably getting a WM7 upgrade in Q3 of this year.
Hi all im new to the site been reading various topics and all seems very technical. Have understood bits used to flash phones back in the old Nokia 3310 days, but lost track of the phone market place for a while. Now so much has changed!!
Anyway Ive got an upgrade due next weekend and have been tossing up between the Iphone and the HD2. Love the look and hardware of the HD2 its just the WM that im slightly concerned about. Anyone able to convince me the HD2 is the way to go
Heard rumours of WM7 coming some say the HD2 will get the update some say it wont, Can anyone confirm?
Also are there any tutorials for dummies on flashing Roms??
Sorry for the Noob questions, hope ive posted in the right section.
Welcome aboard
Have a look on the Wiki, locate your HTC device and you´ll find all you need!
Read, Search, respect and Enjoy!
Welcome and enjoy your stay!
You'll find one advantage in the WM platform is the helpfulness found in communities such as this one. If you enjoy playing with and customizing your phones to suit your exact tastes you are in the right place
Thanks for the welcome guys, been reading though and there are some very helpful and extremely clever folk on here!!! Think Ive been convinced that HD2 with Roms from here is a winner!

No, not to mention WP7 isn't open sourced, so, while following the rules here exactly, this shouldn't even be allowed to be distributed. Kind of how all the pirating with Windows Phone on HD2 is ignored, but hey, the rules bend when it's convenient...
But to answer your original question, as far as I know, not possible.
thanks mate. aye thought it might be bordering on the rules being broken lol just really starting to hate android but i love the phone and wp. but thanks again mate!
Lol, you never know though, the guys here are magical, honestly, if it exists, it would be in that phone's section.

So rather than posting in the HD2 Android specific forums, you post in the general forums? Anyway, this guide makes it as simple as is physically possible. Honestly, with an HD2 you don't have to worry about bricking it at all, you should really be fine as long as you read properly.
@manmad, he means Windows Mobile 6.5 rather than WP7. The former is a crappy OS with tonnes of lag and no apps. The latter is a brilliant OS which is sleek and fluid, but sadly still lacks apps.
