Original Polycarbonate Back Cover - Xiaomi Mi 4C

I would like to buy another original back cover for my Mi4C. I know that is not supposed to be like Swap Covers on OPO and OP2 but does anyone know if those covers are available somewhere? Or does Mi4i back covers fit perfectly with Mi4C? What I mean when I talk about "original back cover" is this:

EDIT: So I found a red back cover for my Mi4C. You can find plenty of them from aliexpress. I also did the DIY qwerty phone mod. Check out from here: Qwerty Keyboard Slider [DIY]
My final target is DIY qwerty phone. I already bought iPhone 6 bluetooth qwerty case since iPhone 6 and Mi4C share almost same dimensions and camera is located in same place. If I can find original back cover I'm going to cut the edges from iPhone 6 qwerty case and glue the Mi4C back cover to it. Then I have perfect qwerty slider Android phone (Yeah, BlacBerry Priv slides out wrong way). If I cannot find original back cover for Mi4C I have to use some third party case/cover which make whole package little bit thicker and bigger. I believe that the total dimension with Mi4C and iPhone 6 qwerty case would be something like 139x70x14mm. Not bad at all :good:
iPhone 6 qwerty case:

I'm interested in this item, too.
An internet search gave me just covers that go above the original one and not substitute it.

No luck here also. I have even tried to find cheap and broken Mi4i for testing if the back cover/panel suits for Mi4C. I just cannot find any...

No luck here either...

The Mi4i case has the same dimensions so it should fit easily, the ir blaster would be blocked though

Some hope here! Someone at MIUI forum claimed that you can buy a black replacement back panel for Mi4i for 900rs (under 15$) from the service center. I emailed Xiaomi about this and asked if this is only possible in India or international also. No reply yet.
I believe that it would be easy job to drill hole for IR blaster
EDIT: Xiaomi EU didn't give me a proper answer but I contacted Xiaomi India. They said that only Indian or Chinese customers can buy those back panels from the service center. Xiaomi doesn't sell those panels in online shop, only in physical service center. So we need Asian friend if we want those back panels...

AH cmon.... it's just a Back Cover-.-
Thanks for the info though, maybe we could ask some reseller e.g. IbuyGou, honorbuy etc. - the price will probably be higher but it's worth a shot

Finally found the place
After many hours of search I finally found the site where you can get new covers.
And I mean the original battery cover... In all 5 colors...
I'll post the link in a few minutes...
By the way, why does xiaomi say the cover is not removable?
Its easier to remove than my previous lumia 625 which is quoted as removable.
And the battery is also removable. It's all good news!

Can I have link for back covers please I been looking everywhere!!!

Hi everyone
Regarding the link I'm just waiting for an answer, once I receive it i'll post it.
Regarding the reason why it is not available to all of us, it's easy... This phone hasnt yet been released in european market by xiaomi... so... There is no reason for them to release spare parts in europe for a model that was only released in China and India by xiaomi itself. We have a mi4c due to the resellers not due to xiaomi. And thats why its no so easy to find a cover to our phone.

So, to everyone like me that was Searching and could find nothing, here is the place se were looking for:
http://m.aliexpress.com/item/32520951859.html
I'm ordering mine today...

Finally! thanks
although I'm always cautious when ordering on aliexpress but since it's the only seller no choice I guess.

So if i will recieve the back cover (which i have just ordered) i am glad to finaly get the yellow mi4c i had ever wanted. Because the Shop where bought my phone only sold the white Version. Fingers crossed....
Mi4c (Tapatalk)

What will you use to take off the original cover? I saw Hugo Barra's video using a kind of plastic tool with a cusp...

i bought this one years before:
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001GLZGEC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
and i will try the "blue" tools if needed. But it seems not to be necessary: see this Mi4c teardown

I believe this is the only place where se can get this at the moment... But with this phones popularity in no time there will be many more...
In my case, as I dont have any of those tools I just used my usual tool... A knife. It came out so easily that I dont understand why it says its not removable... No scratches... Cant wait for my gray cover to arrive...

can someone post a picture of the back of the phone without the cover? thanks

If someone gets the battery cover before me, let me know if it feels just like the original ones... I'll do the same if mine arrives first... Also ordered a slim armor case to protect when I receive it... Cant wait...

I'd love if the spare covers would be less slippery than original one; man, this thing is like a piece of soap!

Indeed... Until now mine hasnt fall yet... But for a few times it almost did... And each time that almost happens, my heart stops and even though it didnt fall I start saying some ugly words... Releasing the stress... Lool
---------- Post added at 10:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:45 AM ----------
And I realized that my mi4c is gonna get gray... With a white sim card tray... Nice huh?!

Damn, are you serious? The spare cover doesn't include the SIM tray?

Any Broken Touch Cruise Displays so far?

Hello,
I just recently heard about a few people complaining about their broken displays in their Touch Cruise Models.
Because of pressure on their Devices the inner touch display broke.
Often without any severe pressure, it was sufficient to carry the Device in the trouserpocket and bend over. This was enough to break the display, at least this is what I read in the posts.
Can anybody tell about the same problem or has anyone experienced similar difficulties?
Sounds scary enough to me to get more information.
Greetz.
The Display of my o2 Xda orbit 2 was broken 1 month after i get my device. I dont know how it was happened. I have noticed, that the front of the device is very soft, softer than the display of my old Xda mini. So only a little pressure can break the display. I used the soft bag, wich was in the package. But in my oppinion a hard case would be much better to prevent broken displays.
Now i am very sad, because o2 want to have 230 euro from me (round 270 dollar) to repair my device.
I can recommend you to buy an hard case for your device like this one:
http://www.innopocket.com/web/showProductDetail.asp?ID=54&name=Metal-Deluxe-Case-for-O2-XDA/T-Mobile-Pocket-PC&code=OX-0310
Sorry for my english,
Greetings from Germany.
I think you can buy the screen in Ebay for around $80 USD and do the fix yourself.
Here are some hard cases for the TC:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/armorcase/armor-case-htc-touch-cruise_3046.htm
http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_900000_11000220&products_id=7162
There are two problems with hard aluminum cases like these:
1. It adds at least 100 grams to the weight of the phone, so it becomes even heavier than the Kaiser ! (and probably even bulkier).
2. If you keep it inside the case while talking (for example you keep it in your pocket, and talk with a BT headphone), the aluminum case will damage the radio signal (both the 3G signal and the BT signal).
@noam32: can you give me the ebay hyperlink, please?
Sorry, I saw one for the Kaiser, and assumed the cruise has one too. Apparently not...
My orbit 2 has a slight section of the screen that appears as if it has begun to get screen burn, a slight blue can allways been seen now which is quite annoying. I am not going to take it back unless it gets anyworse as it took me long enough getting the thing in the first place.

this is not covered under the 1 year manufacturers warranty?
this is scaring me..i know what you guys are talking about when u refer to pressure...i can feel it when i push down sometimes compared to other pda phones i have used..
if this is not covered under the warranty, that is upsetting
This is scary indeed. I don't like how you can feel two screens sorta thing. They should have done this better. There should be no gap between the two layers.
Sadly broken displays not covered under the warranty!!!
@JEMSonline: If your display is not broken yet, you can give your device back, because this time it is covered under warranty.

Whenever you decide to replace a broken screen yourself you can order one at PDA parts for 119 euro's.

Oh great! But does it fit in the o2 Xda orbit 2, too? And how much are the shipping costs to germany? Thank you for the link.
Hi bloedfisch,
I'm not sure if it will fit the Orbit2. When I check the website there is no O2 model in the list.
Best way to find out if they can supply you with an Orbit2 screen and send it to Germany is to contact PDA parts.

you describe it perfectly.
And i believe this is the cause of the snapback sound which is made sometimes when you tap the screen in the upper right hand corner..
god i am regretting purchasing this as each day goes by i seem to find another thing wrong with it...heh
...and I have 2 dead pixels on my screen. But can't be bothered to wait 15 days for repair and...need to live with them ;]...
For me, somehow dust entered from one end of screen inside the LCD! strange! Its with O2 Germany for repair, 3 weeks+ now Apprantly it comes under warranty repair, but still its so painful. Ive seen other posts with rubber rings coming off the O2 Orbit 2 and loose slider button (the latrer problem is common with Polaris and Orbit 2). I have to say, very low quality manufacturing! Still the hrdware capabilites and software are very good.

[Q][Solved] Where to buy black (or other colors) battery cover or housing?

Cheers to all!
I want to buy HTC One SV, in my country (Germany) it is only offered in blue and white.
But as many other people here, i prefer the black back cover.

Picture is from: rounded.com
I found some websites which offer the black battery cover or the black housing, but everywhere its "Not in stock", other colour or sold out.
So, where can i buy the black battery cover or black housing?
Every suggestion is welcome.
Solved! Read here
I purchased the Black One SV on the web but it is the Asian version with different LTE frequencies so am about to return it for a refund. I too would like the black housing battery cover as here in the UK like Germany the only ones available are in white or blue. HTC have confirmed to me they don't supply the black one in Europe.
Could you please post the links of the suppliers that you found (even if out of stock)?
All i can tell you about the black cover is inside on the top left there looks like it might be a part number, maybe this will help.

(See attached image)
Hello and greetings to UK So i'm not alone with this problem.
One link i have, is the one in the first post at rounded.com. This is only the back cover but out of stock. Seems to be located in the netherlands.
Another link i had is dead in the meanwhile.
And then there is the whole housing from here: https://www.gounlock.com/details.php?itemId=9035
This one is located in San Francisco and not really cheap (and i did not figure out how much shipping would really be).
I also have searched extensively and found nothing, anywhere. (apart from the ones you found) It would be easier to buy moon rocks it seems !!
lol
The housing at gounlock could be the one for me but with the shipping cost it will be very expencive. And i don't know if working nfc (located in back cover) is inside.
Where are the cheap "Hong Kong" backcovers which usually appear at ebay
Have you found it allready? Also searching for a black one!

At gounlock is 1 black housing available.
Another german guy found china mobile (?!) battery covers in black and he want to sell them in germany.
They have a "China Mobile" text on it. I don't know where he found them.
There seems to be a lot of blue and white ones available, but I haven't been abeln to find red or black one...
Yes, blue and white are the colours for European versions.
Did not forget this Thread, but for One SV i find nothing new.
But another idea is to buy a black cover for HTC One ST. It has the absolutely same size as One SV and looks very similar . Its only released in asia/china, as far as i know. I think it has the same Hardware.
But i don't know, if One ST has nfc inside.

Would be nice, if you can post few words, if you got it (especially if nfc antenna is inside, cause my actually black cover doesn't have one). Or some pics

Fake OEM batteries on eBay

I wanted to buy replacement batteries for my S5 so i searched on eBay and found this

But when i got the batteries i realized that although they look almost exactly like the real thing, they are counterfeits... 1. They will go in the phone but they don't fit as smoothly as the original battery. 2. NFC does not work. 3.theres is no white sticker on the top.
Now when i looked again on ebay to find real authentic Samsung OEM batteries I realized that this dude is all over the place there probably like 15 accounts selling this same battery all from the same place: Kennedale, TX (search for oem s5 battery on eBay and see how many of them are from Kennedale, TX).
So I think I'm going to call eBay and report him because I don't other people like me to buy from one of his 15 accounts by mistake. But I also want good replacement batteries, preferably OEM, does anyone have any recommendations of where I can find them?

yikes, that sounds bad.
planning to get a refund from paypal?
About 95% of "Genuine" batteries on Ebay will be fake, so the important thing is you've learned your lesson never trust sellers even with massive positive ratings.

it's the same thing with cases, cables, etc on eBay.
If you're paying $11 bucks for an EOM, sorry dude but c'mon you must know its a FAKE...
The seller is obviously trying to rip people off no doubt. And Aryehzev is right to report him. Common sense says if something is too good to be true it nearly always is. Gen battery that cheap when a device is new would raise my suspicion unless it was from a trusted big name retailer.
Thanks for the warning though.
Is shopandroid samsung batteries official?I bought one seems to be official has sticker fits normally havent tested nfc but dont know if its official?

Pay the 30$ for OEM from samsung.com
just saying if you see a bunch of sellers selling the battery for around $10...you know it's fake. why even bother..? it has been like this with eBay for a while and reporting a seller here and there won't do much. It's eBay that has to change their policies.

Do be careful with ebay, they will screw the buyer if the seller is a power seller, that means they bring ebay the money! I got screwed buy ebay and they sent it to my credit report but got it removed already. Ebay is to big so they reallyy dont care. They are only hurting themselves.

It is really a pity. You would be very careful when you are going to buy something from ebay.I always get accessories for my S5 from Amazon because of thier high quality.

The numbers say it would be within 30 min of OEM...But who knows
I've given up on anything "authentic" in Ebay. Bought an S5 otterbox and it was clearly counterfiet after I opened the box. Texture was completely different and didn't even fit my phone correctly. Got a full refund from ebay. One thing to watch out, these scammers, which they are, open multiple accounts and ship from China to a company here in US that will re-label the package with US postmarks. The scammers utilize ID theft to open accounts in other peoples names also, just a friendly reminder.

When I first use a non-NFC battery from Onite,it only last the same time as my 1 year old OEM battery,Then they told me to charge and fully drain the battery for the first 3 cycles,I follow their suggestion and it works, the battery can last even longer than the OEM one.

yes, you can buy good spare parts here. try google translate. normally you will understand enough to get through the ordering process. if not you can call me again. i will ask a chinese friend, but this will take some time.
Oh, that's great news @sebj84!
I tried Google translate. I see that I can buy wristband in either white or black color. However, I can't make purchase if I continue with "google translated" page. On original web page there is price USD 24.93, maybe there are additional costs for delivery.
I'd like to buy that wristband, but I'm not sure for international delivery and I don't speak the language. Well, if there is any option to buy it on ebay, Amazon... (or similar), I'd more than happy to buy there.
On this "Taobao" page... huh, I'd rather transfer funds (also to cover the costs for shipping) via PayPal to someone who is able to buy this for me.

actually i'm not good in chinese too, but i have some friends over there and i'm very near to china anyway (we have another factory there, and am there from time to time).
so if you wait, we can make an order all together and i'll ask my friend to organize this than for us. i just don't want to ask him every week, for this, so lets wait a few weeks to get all people who wants this together.

Thanks for this link. I don't understand a single character of Chines but I got through it all with Google Translate. The key is to set up an account first. I used translate on every page doing that. Set up a default shipping address in here. Once done add it to your cart. Then go to your cart and translate, check the item and settlement. It will want you to set an Alipay pin code. (just translate all the way through when needed). Once past that you enter your credit card info and then you are done. It took me 45 minutes to get through this but it was way cheaper than the other options.
I may have missed a step or two but you should be able to figure it out. I just bought a refurb watch and don't have it yet, but I wanted a spare and this was reasonably priced.
Don't bother. There is a hidden 115 yen logistics fee. I am in the process of a refund.

Yes it is Yuan, excuse my ignorance. I did end up going ahead with the order and the band is identical to the original, but seems slightly thinner and softer. And it works. It turns out to be half the price of the EBay leather covered band. Had it in Canada in 14 days.
How long does it usually take?

I have been waiting for 2 weeks I dont know if it will even arrive. How's the process on this?
I'm from the Philippines.
Hi! I own an LG Urbane 2 LTE, now the strap finally is showing the wear and tear and I'm planning to replace the strap (wristband).
Any idea where to get in 2018?
anyone got any idea what will stop working if the band is replaced with standard 22mm, I have read that it is related to LTE only, how about wifi and BT - are they affected, I will unlikely be using the LTE option so it doesn't matter if it doesn't work

I tried just a little and bt and wifi works, but I didn't test it to much.
I honestly believe that parts (the actual antenna's) of a broken band could be stripped out and remain connected to the watch for fitting of a standard 22mm band, this option would also fill the connections of the old original band maintaining the seal, I worked in electronics for years and carry out all repairs on my own phones - I have stripped down and repaired many, I believe my above suggestion could work, just a little care stripping out the old band
I don't think a regular band would end up looking right? Anybody actually try this?
New watchband supplier
I couldn't get through Taboo's website to order a new watchband there, Google translate didn't handle the pop-ups at checkout. But I found a website in Korea that has new bands, stock black or leather (sewn to stock black, apparently), $56. Seems pricey but it beats tossing my excellent LG Watch Urbane. Ordered & received new bands plus special screwdriver in about 2 weeks.

I finally ordered mine on aliexpress and it's working like a chann

Question Who's Ordered, and why?

I have been watching the development of folding devices for a few years. I've decided to go for it, as the tech seems reliable this time. I like the idea of a more compact phone like the old Motorola V3.
Pre-ordered the 128GB Version in green.
What's your thoughts?
I will be, just deciding on the colour.
I had an original Z Flip and really liked it, but there were a couple of annoyances with it - namely the inside screens protector which got oily and grubby within seconds. I could have removed it, but there were concerns over voiding warranty at the time, and I didn't really want to chance it.
The external screen was also completely pointless, something else they have remedied this time round.
The only thing making me pause, is that I know I will want the Pixel 6 Pro when that launches, and the fact that Samsung haven't done anything to these cameras from the OG Flip.
Early photo samples seem 'ok', but I may wait for official reviews before fully committing.
Just preordered my wife the pink 256gb and myself the grey 256gb version.
We have S10s now that have been great but are ready to enter the flip phone arena. She is excited about using the camera from outside cover with the pic preview option as well as the flex mode for video calls.
I am excited about a compact phone to throw in my pocket and flex mode for video calls etc.
Kind of bummed out about the 3.5mm jack but just ordered some usb C to 3.5mm adapters on amazon should be good to go.
We have $100 credit each left via samsungs website....will probably get the clear ring case for my wife and maybe leather for me. Also interested to see what Spigen comes up with, I see on amazon you can already order their cases.

I've gone for a Naked skin from Slickwraps.
Thanks I will check that one out. I'll have 5 cases in before I even get the phone
Pretty crap they don’t include the case in the box like they did with the OG Fold.
I never really liked it, but it was handy when I was out and about and wanted that extra protection!
One that's compact yet powerful and is not "bar" type = Flip 3, so probably will get one.
With 120Hz display refresh rate and not so power efficient(!) SD888, the 3300 mAh battery might become a concern.
I have the green 256gb on pre order, looking foward to a flip phone again, fold 3 is to heavy.
Trading in a 8t, I'm sure the flip 3 will take better photos??
I am watching youtube vids on flip 3, some say camera concerns. We use sammy S10's right now for the past few years, flip 3 probably has drastically better camera then our S10?
Can't imagine Samsung would release a phone with subpar cameras. Obviously, not going to be the same standard as the S21 Ultra.
Good review below
ordered the cream 256GB. After using the note9 for 3 years I'm sick of large heavy phones.
I also really miss my starTac's from the 90's.
I would have bought the Flip2 5G but I need the IP rating as I do a lot of exercising/sweating with the phone.
My only concern is the wireless charging/NFC with a magentic mount such as scosche. I have wireless charging everywhere (car, bedroom, office, lounge, kitchen).. so battery life is not a concern.
Like the previous post, I've got tired of big heavy phones (currently Note10+) but also just looking forward to having something a bit different. Phones have got really samey and just not as much fun to own anymore. Hoping the flip 3 brings back the excitement of owning something a bit different, even if I will have to charge it every 5 min
my gf have the original flip, the first one. (hey, of course she want it, i'm the one that paid for it).
it' time to upgrade to flip3 since the more you fold/open/close the flip, the crease going to get worse.
i ordered the 256gb flip3 since it' the same price as the 128gb flip3 with the 50$ credits applied to 256gb flip3.
I got mine today works great, looking forward to root and ROMS!

Finally found the man who's responsible for companies making phones thinner and thinner before 2020, thus providing smaller and smaller batteries.
Pre-order grey 256GB and seem like next month only can get it here at Malaysia. I'm after the technology as Samsung said screen is 80% better than before. Camera seem not really superb but usable as daily use.

I'm doing the same. Got a OP8 5G through a tmobile promo half off so i only paid about $400 for it if I remember correctly. Now tmobile is giving me $1000 trade-in credit for it. The offer is just too good to pass up, even though I'm really going to miss my OP8

I think I must plead guilty, after years of giant phones I've genuinely had enough and am ready for a change
