I want cm12 on my moto g but which is better the nightly official or stable port?
If you go official you have a very stock kernel, with the unofficial version you got a pretty good kernel. your choise you can always switch

Hello to all.
I upgraded from cm10.1.3 stable today, which I had over clocked. So I would just like to know if anyone knew if over clocking kernels would work with cm11 based Roms. Thank you.
Edit:I got the answer I needed. Resolved
I forgot to mention that I am using Mokee ROM specifically. Not sure if that makes a huge difference but, just in case...
should work
Android-andi has oc kernels in his cm11 and omni thread. Should work considering that mokee's cm based

I noticed an experimental CM 11 build dated 12.01.2016; what's updated? Is the scanning bug fixed by any chance?
after flashing cm11...flash the latest thunderzap kernel using twrp....Scanning bug will be solved....I prefer using omni rom (4.4) by oliver and then flashing latest thunderzap kernel using twrp.....very nice and stable performance for kitkat
where did you find this 2016 cm11 build for xperia l?
Maybe he found it through OTAs on the CM11..
x-infinity
squid
inazuma
optimus
LOL i dont know these names also
i would be interested to know about these kernels hope any kernel gives Good Camera controls to our Moto G
The stock kernel
Inazuma+ondemand governor works well on blisspop and squid kernel+lionfish for cm13
Broadcasted from Zeta Reticuli
For cm14.0 unofficial by Alberto97 use unofficial cm14 community build r2 kernel with lots of extra stuff....

Just because you are curious. No OC, balanced mode.
These don't mean anything to the actual performance of a ROM. Keep that in mind.

This is with Tesla 20170317 and ElementalX 1.04, overclocked. The downside is I had to switch back to the stock Tesla kernel because it ElementalX refused to see my sdcard. Not good!

Very true. Benchmarks are merely a rough indicator of overall performance under a fixed set of conditions. Actual use of a device will usually vary widely from the benchmark parameters.
Tipsy elemental x OC

Check this thread. Many users have already posted their ROM+kernel combo.

Still, I'm currently running RR 5.8.2 with Optimus R20.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, do you change any settings of Optimus kernel?

Not really. The only thing I do is set the minimum CPU frequency to 400 Hz. Otherwise I just leave it with default settings and it works great.
"Best" is such a misused term in the ROM world...
In my opinion, the best is stock... The performance and battery life are exemplary. Moto might screw up a lot of stuff, but they can certainly optimize a ROM.
I just downgraded from Lineage 14.1 to CM 13. Never flashed a custom kernel. It's amazing. No more bugs with Bluetooth or mobile data, far better battery life. I'm at 26% with 4 hrs SOT. I used to barely get 3 with Nougat.
So IMO you should stick with roms based on official Moto software. Unfortunately, almost all of the ones still being updated are Nougat based and thus have lots of bugs. I'm using the last cm13 snapshot from late December.

you're doing something wrong buddy, im getting atleast 5H+ sot on nougat. but thats on my phone
AOSP-CAF + LineageOS Kernel. Really satisfying in battery and performance.
I used to have Resurrection Remix (Marshmallow) + fire kernel, I can reach a SOT of 6, more or less.
