First of all apologies if this has been asked or spoken about before.
I want to go back to my previous firmware MJ3, after the update I feel like my Note 3 is gone it literally feels like a different phone.
I have friends with the same phone irl and they say the same thing.
And also alot of people here seems to feel the same in various threads.
The battery is drained after 1 day and before it could take up to 3 days for the battery to totally die.
Is there any way at all to downgrade or flash an older version, I would really want the previous version, I so so regret updating it to the latest.
Any good suggestions or comments will be appreciated.
Cheers.
Try factory reset it might fix it

What are you ruining now? I'm using the latest and it is just the same if not better than out the box, but I've done wipes etc after any major change.
As suggested by the first reply, try a reset.

I had MJ3 and am now having MJ7.

Ok well I guess it's worth a shot.
Did you experience issues with your battery performance after the update and therefor did a factory reset?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium HD app
Most probably the bootloader had been updated. .. which means you won't be able to flash older firmware now. I can get just about a day on mj7 which is good enough for me

Same here! Calibrated my Phone many times, no luck! Was already thinking of buying a new battery... I will do TOTAL wipe tomorrow, including internal sd then flash Stock MJ7 I hope it gets better.
If you update via OTA, Kies or PC Odin. Sorry you can't go back as new bootloader is not compatible with MJ3 firmware.
If you update all the while via Mobile Odin, then yes as Mobile Odin never update bootloader.
Just finished restoring all my apps and settings after a full system recovery. (couldn't wait hehe).
Will report back if I notice any significant difference in the battery life.
Btw can anyone give some advice on battery calibration?
Cheers.

Is this true? I never done ota on my note3. I rooted the phone just a week after i bought it. It was MJ1 if i'm not mistaken then flashed a costum rom using cwm. Does this mean i can flash an older firmware without worrying about soft bricking the phone?

If your phone already update to latest bootloader, it can't downgrade firmware to MJ1. I never try, but base on user report, you get bootloop only.
Mj7 is the best FW yet.
It has great kernel with battery tweaks.
Don't try to go back for older FW.
First you can't.
Second every upgrade has some fixes for more stability.
I have MJ 7. Its wonderful.
You need to di the following :
1- factory reset.
2- go to application manager and disable the unwanted Apps.
It will save your battery more coz you are not rooted so its the only way to stop and turn off some craps apps.
3- wifi:
Go to advanced options and untick the allow scanning option and put your wifi as never during sleep.
Check your battery life then.
It will be double..
I Promise.

Hi,
I am having trouble updating my Nexus 5 to the latest version. I get the notification to update and it begins to run however, after about 20% it errors and all I can see is the little android error icon. Has anyone else encountered this?
Have you made any changes to the ROM prior to trying to update?

Strange. Maybe the update file is corrupted.

Has anyone got an answer or is there an issue with the device and I need to replace it? it's currently running 4.4 and is trying to install 4.4.2... Could it be an issue with it trying to bypass the 4.4.1 update? I have even done a factory re set and it still errors when trying to install the update.
You could just download the 4.4.2 factory image and manually flash it (leaving out the userdata.img so you don't reset everything) you'll be fine

Title says it all. I tried to calibrate my battery with 8/1/1 and when phone was turned on and plugged. I unplugged it, turned off. After it I should charge it for one hour in powered off state so I plugged in. The phone turned on automatically after 4 seconds.
How do I charge moto g in powered off state?

hey guys, finally got MM to work but recently i started experiencing random reboots. Saw about two other post talking about reboots but, no fix or further discussion on the issue.
anyone else experiencing this?
is there a fix?
Also i noticed the benchmark on Lollipop was much higher than Marshmallow. Any advice?
It's a beta, there's nothing you can really do about it. I get them and they're annoying, but I installed a beta build, so such is life.

Without a kernel source, there isn't a way to fix it. I like what I see with MM, but this build isn't ready for prime time yet. For stability, OJ5 is your best course of action.

i suggest you backup your internal sdcard before going back to OJ5. i've gone back to OJ5 twice and each time, i ended up having to factory reset with the stock recovery, which wipes everything, including your sdcard. for some reason, when i factory reset and wiped via TWRP (after flashing OJ5 via ODIN) phone would not boot. just sharing my experience...
Thanks for heads up will try

Two days ago I set off on a journey to root my phone . I Followed a couple guides and every site stated that you need Twrp. The thing is im running marshmallow on the D850 and any time I try to boot my phone in recovery I get "boot verification failed" and get a black screen with the notification flashing and this even prevents me from even doing a factory reset. From lurking the forums i've learned that the best way to fix is to flash back to an older version of android but most of these guides seen old and out dated and I cant seem to find a kdz for the D850 . Thank you and your help will be very much appreciated.
also the i installed the LG USB driver (to use the LG flash tool )but Ports (COM & LPT) are not shown in device manager mostly because the phone should be on so the drivers will be shown...
Really I read many many threads and I tried to follow it but no success
I could not find D850 kdz..

You don't press power.
With the phone completely off hold down vol down while plugging in the USB cable that's connected to your computer.
If that doesn't do anything try vol up instead.

You cannot update while rooted. You'd have to unroot and updating would replace the tether changes. Also it seems like your not on AT&T which you cannot update anyway unless you have an AT&T sim.
